Team News
Tottenham
Lazio
- Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has explained that he is looking to go all the way in this season's Europa League, so his side will be taking the competition more seriously than they have done in recent years. His team selection will reflect that, with only a few changes expected from the side that beat Reading at the weekend.
- French no. 1 Hugo Lloris is expected to make his debut between the posts, while Clint Dempsey, having come on against Reading, should get his first start. However, as of yet it is unclear who the American will come in for, as he is versatile enough to play in any of the 4 attacking positions.
- AVB confirmed that Emmanuel Adebayor is injured and will not feature. That may explain why he did not feature at the weekend, but he will be frustrated at not finding a way straight back into the first XI at WHL.
- Assou-Ekotto is expected to be out for up to 4 weeks with a knee injury.
- Senad Lulic has recovered from the knock he picked up while on international duty with Bosina, though he is still only likely to make the bench for Lazio.
- Vladimir Petkovic could stick with the same team that won so convincingly at Chievo at the weekend.
- Hernanes will be the main threat for the Italians once again, and Spurs will need to stem his creativity in order to stand a chance.
I think you're being harsh on Spurs. Home win for me, provided they field a strong enough side
I seriously think Lazio is a better team than Tottenham at the moment.
not feeling confident. Lazio gonna nick it by the odd goal
Tough ask to stop Lazio's 100% run this season, but i suppose this is their hardest game so far
boas?joke!
Best game of Thursday. Although spurs have players with better quality, Lazio are on top form. I think this is a 1-1 draw.
