Team News
Real Madrid
Barcelona
- Real will have to face their biggest rivals in one of their biggest games of the season with a very makeshift defence as Iker Casillas and Pepe remain out injured, whilst Sergio Ramos and Fabio Coentrao are suspended.
- Diego Lopez is expected to make his first appearance in goal since rejoining the club at the weekend and Michael Essien will once again drop in at right-back with Alvaro Arbeloa shifting across to left-back.
- Further forward though the Spanish champions will be more recognisable as Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso will return after being rested at the weekend and will be joined by the in-form Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil.
- Barcelona by contrast are at full-strength for the trip to the Bernabeu and stand-in boss Jordi Roura is expected to return to the XI that has been used in their most important games of the season so far after handing starts to Thiago, Adriano and David Villa in the 5-1 win over Osasuna on Sunday.
- That means that Andres Iniesta will again play on the left side of a front three with Cesc Fabregas coming back into midfield and Pedro playing on the other side of Lionel Messi.
- Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique are also expected to be paired together at the expense of Javier Mascherano.
super display by varane. Wonderful Hala madrid vamos madrid
Varane deservedly got Man of the Match. Great display and a goal to finish it all off.
@Patricovic Hover your mouse over the icons or look at the legend exactly above the "Match Commentary" and below the soccer field with the ratings. Next time try searching a little bit before asking.
Madrid should have buried this game in the first half. Considering how many key team players were missing this is a good result . Varane 5 star performance kid will be a star
wow crazy game. fabregas and pedro missed 2 huge chances. and messi got called offside when he was about to score even though he wasnt.
Varane is beast.
Varane..He must be MVP today..Save about 3goals, score 1goal..
Without Casillas, Ramos and Pepe, it will be very hard to stop Barca from multiple score...but we will see HALA MADRID!
Barca will win 2-0 !!!! VAMOS BARCA !
With a patched defence that saw Song and Masherano playing together, Madrid could only pull a draw. During that game, Madrid was in full strength. The tide has turned with Barca at full strength and Madrid with a makeshift defence, I can only see goals flowing past Adan. I am sorry for you my friend. This is not the best time to stand between the post for Madrid.
Remake 2-6 for barcelona! Allez le barçaaaaaaaaaa!!
respect to madrid 1-1
BARCELONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the above RM line-up isn't true. As it is Arbeloa is the weak link in our line-up and if Mou bangs his head somewhere, Barca will be hoping he fields Arbeloa LB, Carvalho CB & Essien LB (they'll get overrun). Iker (hand) & Pepe (ankle) out with injuries, and Ramos, Coentrao and (as far as i know) Di Maria is also out due to suspensions. Probable line-up: Adan, Arbeloa, Albiol, Varane, Marcelo, Khedira, Alonso, Callejon, Ozil, CR & Benzema. RM are on a 31-match unbeaten run at home W26 & D5. COME ON!! Lets make it 32! HALA MADRID!
realmadrid will win 3:1
and how come Marcelo is not featured in the line-up, he'll be needed to halt those barcelona raids (which will be abundant)
Di Maria is suspended and won't be playing. Callejón will be in his place. VISCA EL BARÇA!
Yay!!1 ANOTHER FOOTBALL FEST!
isn't Di Maria suspended after his red card in the last copa game?
Villa has 5 goals for barcelona ! why you did not mention that on top player stat.
i hope barca beat Madrid at the Bernebeu
