Team News

  • Aleksandr Kerzhakov is expected to start up front after Aleksandr Bukharov was arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour during the international break.
  • Juri Lodygin will continue in goal with Vyacheslav Malafeev's recovery from a calf injury taking longer than initially expected.
  • Maciej Rybus will be out of action for the next couple of months after undergoing ankle surgery this week.
  • Jonathan Legear's return from a knee injury remains close, however it would be more likely to see him start on the bench next week.

  • 7 wins in 8 games in all competitions shows that Zenit are building up a head of steam after a slow start to the season. Injuries continue to disrupt the squad, however wise spending toward the end of the transfer window have greatly bolstered the group.
  • Terek Grozny show few signs of stopping the rot that the team have been in for much of the season. Sitting second from bottom is a woeful statistic for a team who had far greater aspirations. Their woeful goalscoring record shows few signs of letting up.
  • Zenit have the far superior players and form heading into this game and will no doubt do what is expected of them. It could well be a long afternoon for Terek who have scored once in their past 5 games.
