Team News

  • Richmond Boakye had been suffering from a muscle injury early in the week, but looks set to be ready to start this one.
  • Gerard Pique returned to training this week, but is unlikely to be ready in time.
  • Neymar will miss out, as will Isaac Cuenca. Carles Puyol and Marc Bartra are doubts.

  • This is one of the most intriguing games of the round. Elche could guarantee their top-flight status by picking up a draw, but nothing but a win will do for Barcelona who, if they can win this and their last game, will retain their league crown.
  • The race for La Liga has seen many twists and turns up to now and there could be another one in this game. Elche have so much to play for, while this is their last home game of the season so they will be going all out to try and get at least a point and they could get it considering their home form. In this second half of the season, Elche have not lost once at home - a record that not even Barcelona boast.
  • After drawing at home to Getafe last weekend, Barcelona coach Tata Martino practically threw in the towel regarding his team's chances for the title and his future at the club, which looks set to end very soon. For this reason, it will be interesting to see how he will set about motivating his players and getting them fully switched on again and, more importantly, behind him.
  • Despite scoring goals still, Lionel Messi has not looked so content in recent weeks or even months. Yet, after securing a new deal with Barcelona that will see him become the highest paid player in the world next season, with the title on the line there will be no more excuses for the 2012 Balon d'Or winner.

  • We've been given ANOTHER chance, wow. All to play for against Atletico now. La Liga truly is amazing.

  • Terrible Barcelona! Awful! Just awful! I wish Atletico would win the title, they are 10x times more deserving! Coming from a die hard Barca fan! This has nothing to do with tiki taka or Barcelona.. simply awful!

  • Plenty of chances, no goals... as usual. Alexis & Cesc have been amazing in the first half, Pedro - very bad performance so far.

  • if Barcelona win and Atletico some how lose, Barcelona will only need to draw the final game

  • @JoeB91 if Barca 1-1 Aletico, Aletico will win the title.

  • @JoeB91 No? Wouldn't they be even on points then? Barcelona would be in control but they would still have to win to be absolutely safe

  • @MWVVWM they play Atletico on the final day

  • Elche's recent home record is scary but I think the team knows how much this match means to the season, I think we'll squeeze out with a win somehow. 1-2 Barca

  • 2-2

  • Barcelona to WIN---> 1-2

  • My Prediction for Sunday match, the 11 of May 2014-Elche 0 FC Barcelona 3 La liga is for FC Barcelona again
