Team News

Sampdoria
Juventus
  • Delio Rossi has had his full squad available in training, but Renan and Regini will miss the season opener due to suspensions collected in the previous season.
  • Gabbiadini should play alongside Sansone up front, while Eder is expected to start on the bench.
  • The former Bologna player, along with Eramo should be the only new faces in the starting XI.
  • Pogba is set to replace Marchisio in the middle of the field, together with Vidal and Pirlo.
  • Llorente should be dropped to the bench once again, with Vucinic and Tevez starting up front.
  • The defensive trio will be the typical one: Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini.

Prediction

  • Sampdoria have not changed much compared to the previous season, but they had to say goodbye to their best striker Icardi, who was also the only player able to score more than twice against Juventus in the previous season, with three goals against the Bianconeri.
  • Juve managed to beat every other side in the league at least once last year, except for Sampdoria, who won both games against the eventual title winners. With Antonio Conte being a perfectionist you can expect this date to be circled in red in his calendar as he looks to exact revenge.
  • The teams will have a similar formation, with three at the back and a busy midfield. In pre-season Juve have looked a bit behind with their preparation, but their first official match was a crushing victory against Lazio. Despite their transfer moves in attack (Llorente, Tevez), expect Juventus to rely on their midfield for goals as usual.

  • Castellini's red card was cancelled by the ref after speaking with the assistant, I think.

  • i want to see more el rey leon!

  • Fino Alla Fine, Forza Juventus !!!

  • Not going to be an easy game after the two games last season, but I think Juve is going to win, if perhaps by only a small margin.

  • Delio Rossi's Samp have won the two last meetings with the sides. Okay, Icardi was very decisive in those games, but I don't think Rossi wants to surrender for Juventus yet.

  • Juve win 2-1 Llorente scores the winner (I hope)

  • Samp are the anti-juve, plus it's at the Luigi Ferraris, I can see a 1-1 happening

  • Easy Juventus win
