Team News

  • With Sulley Muntari suspended, Michael Essien and Nigel de Jong are in contention to play alongside Montolivo.
  • Mario Balotelli is still struggling with his shoulder, so Giampalo Pazzini is expected to start - wearing a protective mask.
  • Keisuke Honda, Robinho, Valter Birsa and Riccardo Saponara are all available, but Clarence Seedorf could field Andrea Poli in the supporting trio.
  • Martin Caceres and Angelo Ogbonna are both candidates to complete the defensive trio as Giorgio Chiellini will probably miss out.
  • A certain Arturo Vidal will be absent, as he is suspended. He will be replaced by Claudio Marchisio in midfield.
  • Pablo Osvaldo scored again in the Europa League, but the favourites for the attack in the league are still Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.

  • Milan have managed to keep two consecutive clean sheets (their longest streak of the season) in their last two domestic matches, but they will also have in mind the second leg of their Champions League match in Madrid.
  • Juventus dispatched Trabzonspor with ease and come into the big match in San Siro in very good form. The only negative will be missing their top scorer Arturo Vidal (17 goals overall).
  • Despite improvements under Seedorf, Milan are still struggling to obtain defensive strength and focus. Their best qualities are in attack, which means that Seedorf will probably try out to attack. However, Juventus have showed against Napoli and Roma how well they perform when they have the chance of sitting back to counter-attack, so Milan will always be at risk.
