Team News

Man City
Man Utd
  • Frank Lampard will continue to miss out having been forced off early on in the win over Spurs.
  • Both Yaya Toure and David Silva picked up knocks in the defeat to Newcastle in the cup and while the former is expected to feature Silva may be out of action for up to a month.
  • Samir Nasri is available for selection following injury and will hope to come into contention on the wing.
  • Phil Jones, Ashley Young and Radamel Falcao were all ruled out of the game against Chelsea through injury but should be fit to feature on Sunday.
  • The latter could return to the starting line-up at the expense of Adnan Januzaj, while Ander Herrera will hope to be favoured over compatriot Juan Mata in midfield.
  • However, Wayne Rooney returns from suspension and should be fit to regain a place in the starting XI.

Prediction

  • After back-to-back defeats a third in the derby against United would cap off a disatrous week for Manchester City and they will want to appease the home support with a convincing win.
  • United made progress from a defensive standpoint against Chelsea though and will want to prove that they can cut it with the best of them once again and exploit any uncertainty in the City backline.
  • This should be an entertaining game as City really need to win and will have to go for it but must be wary of the threat Van Gaal's side can carry in attack.

  • Yaya Toure always make MC different. Pass accuracy 93% + arial won 100%. He make sure MC monopoly middle of the field.

  • @jayvin83 Rooney having a higher rating than Toure, Fernando and Kompany is a joke, Rooney gave the ball away easily loads of times in the first half and wasn't great in the 2nd half

  • @JoeB91 If you observe Yaya Toure carefully, you will know he actually is the player that change MC attacking tempo. He passed the ball very well to Clichy, and then Clichy assist Agüero's goal. He has very good vision and also control the ball very well.

  • @jayvin83 he played well when he was further up as well

  • referee was a coward just like last week against Chelsea, grow some balls and give decisions against United

  • @JoeB91 did you miss the Leicester and Burnley games by any chance? Of course you did .you've a selective memory after all...

  • shaw was great,6.6 point?you kidding me?

  • @kingdom717 a lot of these ratings are questionable, like Kompany only having the same as Demichelis, Rooney higher than Fernando and Toure, Zabaleta only 6.4 and Fellaini should have a negative rating he was so bad

  • @JoeB91 players are rated on here by their stats. If a midfielder has made a good number of tackles and dribbles , he'll have a higher rating. Its baffling how you're a regular on here yet still you haven't been able to grasp how this site actually works. Might as well give up on coming here altogether. But no I'm sure you'll be seen here again moaning about the ratings and united. Such a clueless and desperate soul.

  • City played pretty good. Finally Pellegrini choose Jovetic instead of Dzeko. It was a good game. Congrats.

  • Newcastle has as many points as ManU. Let that sink in

  • So what? Is Newcastle a better team? Bigger club? I love how all the immature d1ckpinchers suddenly love to mock and laugh at MU. Just because they've had a hard run since 14 months. I also love the unmentioned fact, that you've been kept quiet almost 20 years, when MU was the hottest thing in football. They're financially healthy, they make their own budget and are not dependent on their owners. In fact their owners aren't pumping money into the club, but out of it. Debt? It's their owners loan they used to but the club. They're not self-sponsored as PSG or City. The thing is, MU is getting back there, it's just a matter of time. Whether you like it or not.

  • @El_Duderino By the way.. Your owners may need to pump money into the club because the ammount of liabilities that Man U have is just ridiculous.. like over a billion

  • @El_Duderino Good to know you live in the past

  • @MiguelSuave I can live there, cuz unlike City I have one.

  • Thought ref might give that goal offside after not giving 2 clear penalties.

  • That's why City aren't relevant in CL. They just don't have the killer instinct. Last 25 minutes - domination from MU. Sure, they've won, but i just don't see them beating Chelsea or Roma right now.

  • Man U's defence is rubbish once the transfer window opens again they need to buy some quality defenders

  • What about what's called DiMaria

  • Yes... Go on Man City

  • United have a winger, a CM and two 19 year olds. It's a bloody miracle (called DDG) they aren't 4-0 down...

  • @khonda The miracle's name is actually Michael Oliver.

  • there is no way MU can win here, except van gaal use magic trick.

  • Smalling had a debt at the bookie. He has no more.

  • 2 penalties not given to City. Good job referee.

  • @Apex21 1 penalty not given. The one on Aguero was so soft.

  • Don't forget about red card for Demichelis. Referee did.

  • Penalty was at Rojo duel vs Toure...

  • how was that not a penalty ??

  • We need to do something about our team its 0-0 becouse of de gea

  • united will snatch a draw

  • 2-2

  • x2

  • Falcao injured "again" or was his return to fitness a charade? I think united should have way tougher medicals. Millions and millions of pounds for this injured prone S.O.B. Worthless investment. At the very least you'd expect him be on the bench. He can't play vs our 2 toughest rivals then what the heck did you buy him for? I truly hope they aren't that stupid that they'll buy him and that he leaves after this season.

  • @Terry: how can you say thing like that? Injuries make part of the sport and Falcao is a top-scorer like United need. He's recovered from a big knee injury very fast, and he's also a player with a mental that every teams search! So please, think before crying againts Falcao... We wait for a Van Persie real reference match this season...

  • @mytyk United doesn't need a guy that gets injured every second game and that won't play 10 full games this season without being substituted. So 10 months without football is considered a "very fast recovery" to you? And even after the 10 months he's not even fully recovered. He's gonna go on being injured like this for the rest of his career.

  • @mytyk- I think Terry's point is that Falcao's return from injury wasn't a full one and that Utd paid a lot of money for someone who was always going to get re-injured.

  • City will win the game if they Keep calm, Keep focus, and Dominating the game. ManchesterCity 3 - 1 ManchesterUtd . #together #MY

  • Silva injured is a big plus for Utd. Rooney back is a big plus for City. :-p . I fancy Utd to get a draw. City playing 4-4-2 has been as much as success as Utd's 3-5-2. Van Gaal ditched that but I can't see Pellegrini changing City's formation. DiMaria was poor in the 2nd half against Chelsea hitting pretty much every cross to a Chelsea player and making very few of his signature runs so he needs to step up and play well for the whole game.

  • @SteveHyland Yea having the highest scorer in the Manchester Derby is definitely a good thing for City...

  • These guys humiliated us last season, time for pay back. MOTM: fellaini or di maria. The only negative is the return of rooney..argh!

  • @erastus foolish
