I'll give it to united fans;they may be arrogant sometimes, but they are quite loyal. They stuck with their team during the hard times, and they got a bit of a reward today. It's always nice to see plastic city lose.
@BigDong Wouldn't say so. I give Liverpool fans a lot of stick but I'd say they've got the most loyal bunch among top times.
I remember United fans flew a plane over OT last season to protest against Moyes. That was terrible.
Phil Jones would become the best centre half on the planet if he sorts his positioning sense and footballing intelligence out.
Defenders very rarely are have everything in their locker. Great physicality , tenacity , pace and tackling ability. Plenty of time for him to sort himself out though.
@NotBiased- Positioning sense yes but I find sporting intelligence is something you either have or don't. They do a "football IQ" test in America for prospective NFL players and it rarely gets better during their career than what it started. I think Jones is always going to make mistakes but if he sorts his positioning skills out then he could still be world class because everybody in history has made mistakes.
@NotBiased- There are always exceptions to the rule so for England's sake hopefully you're right. Jones NOW is still a far better option than Jagielka for England anyway and Cahill has had a shaky season too so Phil is looking like about the best.
Ashley Young best player on the pitch for me. Fantastic season for him overall. Bit of a message for the mongers that not all British players are overhyped.
Some turn around this by Fellaini and Smalling. The two were perhaps the worst players on the pitch at different occasions. Smalling this season and Fellaini last.
Now they've been different class.
@MacGoreth liverpool has no hope, i clicked return but this site doesn't let you create paragraphs, thus not showing that i separated liverpool and arsenal.
@MacGoreth noooo i ment to put a period between liverpool and arsenal. Chelsea plays Man U, Ars, Lei, Liv..... THUS giving hope to arsenal and Man u to win the league matatahicaly
@LLCAN Ifyou have played chess then it's like having two knights
Starting from the bench doesn't matter - he matters when it's necessary
di maria is an edge on other squads - a necessary edge!!!
@libehv oh, how wonderful that ManU have Di Maria just in case. for Di Maria that is a sh-- deal, and he should find a club that can use him properly. if the system doesn't work well with him, then he should leave.
@Lucasfernandes THIS is the one thing I hate about some United fans. Their sense of entitlement. They're like spoilt kids at times throwing their toys out of their prams. Other than that, they are alright
Reckon City will win today. It would make things at least somewhat interesting at the top. United are ahead but they've no chance of closing in the gap when the fixtures they've got.
WhoScored most goals in derbies of all available players for tomorrow ?!
WhoScored - what an irony, this good site turning into Goal.com type of tabloidesque BS.
The Player WhoScored most goals in derbies for some very particular reasons isn't favorite of British journalism in general !
Both are so rubbish it's hard to decide. The diffence, though, is Man U have been consistently rubbish since Bacon Face left, whereas Man $ity have only been rubbish since FFP hit them. I'll go for 0-0.
@Erastus- He's played well recently. Not a surprise, he's a class player. He only played consistently bad for Utd when van Persie was also playing. Co-incidence?
@Erastus- No, I actually meant Mata's natural attacking positions happen to be the same as Robin's when he drops deep therefore giving the effect of having 2 number 10's on the field on occasion. I think Robin himself said something to that effect though can't remember what precisely. You really need a genuine 9 in front of Mata or a conservative 10 behind van Persie.
A win for each of Liverpool, Spurs and Saints will leave the gap between them and City at 4,4 and 5 points respectively if City are defeated by Man. Utd. So as a Liverpool fan, I should probably sing GGMU instead of YNWA alone at the weekend, yes?
I think the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton will be hoping for a United win. Even Liverpool, I know but City are the team on the down at the moment and United are on the up.
I fancy Utd here. I think results have flattered them but they are still playing better than City are. I'd be surprised if either team keeps a clean sheet since defence has been the worst part of both teams all year. I'll go 2-1 Utd, Fellaini MotM but would like a draw.
@SteveHyland defence our worst part? really? Goals conceded in the last 20 Premier League games:
United 12
Chelsea 16
Southampton 16
Man City 18
Liverpool 19
Arsenal 20
@red_7- Firstly, it's all relative. Utd and City's defences haven't been as good as their attacks- irrespective of the stats and secondly I'm not sure where you got your stats from but (using the top 4 teams in the league) Utd have actually conceded 14 goals in the last 20 league games, Chelsea 16, City 18 and Arsenal 19. While Utd have still conceded the least amount, there is a vast difference between a good defence and a poor/average defence that just hasn't let in loads of goals. The mentality of the opposition will be entirely different. Man City will be thinking "we can score loads against Man Utd" whereas that wont be the case when they play Chelsea even though, as you said, they've conceded less goals in the last 20 league games. As I said, I fancy Utd in this one but I wouldn't be surprised to see City score 2 or 3. The general consensus is that Utd have been lucky not to ship goals this season as opposed to being a good defence like Chelsea or Southampton.
@erastus- Actually, sometimes, stats do lie which is why one cannot base opinions wholly on them. No matter how many times I say it, it seems nobody else can grasp the concept. There are many a footballer with better all-time stats than far greater players yet are obviously nowhere near as good. To use an example from this season, Utd also have the 2nd highest possession in the league yet how many games against good teams can you remember them dominating?
If man utd doesn't win this match in a convincing fashion, i will be disappointed. We have a more solid as a team and the confidence is high. Fellaini to score from a set piece situation
Aguero is deserve for a better team.
Can't believe Clichy got 6.5. He deserved a lower grade.
Y is a.young not man of the match
Blind and Carrick should be higher rated, no reason to delete this comment @Whoscored
@arny.diaz.7 The ratings are based on stats, if you don't agree with that then this site is not for you.
#PellegriniOut #MangalaOut
De Gea only 6.1?!!
@HomaKP He conceded 2 goals from 3 shots on target, probably should have saved the second one. Good player not not a good game.
@Josh_22 I know, but there was a lot of defending errors and he stopped those from becoming catastrophic.
->->->->->Resurrection of Manchester United<-<-<-<-<-
Young MOTM

I think Jones is always going to make mistakes but if he sorts his positioning skills out then he could still be world class because everybody in history has made mistakes.
@SteveHyland Fair shout. Though I've seen many players who improved their intelligence with game time and as they grew older.
@NotBiased- There are always exceptions to the rule so for England's sake hopefully you're right. Jones NOW is still a far better option than Jagielka for England anyway and Cahill has had a shaky season too so Phil is looking like about the best.
Great United today.Van Gaal should not use all 3 subs for flops like Falcao & Di Maria. Utd played about 10 minutes with 10 players without Carrick.
Ashley Young best player on the pitch for me. Fantastic season for him overall. Bit of a message for the mongers that not all British players are overhyped.
Congratulations United fans. You deserve this. You're a proper club and didn't just win a lottery.
@NotBiased You are a Man United fan though!!
@Josh_22 Not really.
Some turn around this by Fellaini and Smalling. The two were perhaps the worst players on the pitch at different occasions. Smalling this season and Fellaini last. Now they've been different class.
My god some performance this by United. The ruthlessness in front of goal was just different class from them.
That moment you realize Chelsea plays Man U, Arsenal, Leicester, then Liverpool Arsenal and Man U still have hope
@Lucasfernandes Liverpool has hope? loooooool do QPR have hope as well? Liverpool has rope, to hang themselves and do everyone a favor, and not hope.
@MacGoreth he meant liverpool still has hope to play in European league next season
@masromie i MENT CHELSEA PLAYS LIVERPOOL AFTER LEICHESTER. christ man punctuation is so importiant
@Lucasfernandes no need to despair!
@MacGoreth liverpool has no hope, i clicked return but this site doesn't let you create paragraphs, thus not showing that i separated liverpool and arsenal.

why doesn't di maria start
@Beastador because mata still the better choice at the moment and ash young give United the balance at left side. (in my view)
@Beastador if they're not going to use him, let him go. he's wasting himself there.
@LLCAN Ifyou have played chess then it's like having two knights Starting from the bench doesn't matter - he matters when it's necessary di maria is an edge on other squads - a necessary edge!!!
@libehv oh, how wonderful that ManU have Di Maria just in case. for Di Maria that is a sh-- deal, and he should find a club that can use him properly. if the system doesn't work well with him, then he should leave.
Mata has proved himself to van Gaal his role more than a translator for the Spaniard and the Argentine at United
Red cells
THIS is how manchester united is supposed to play every game
@Lucasfernandes THIS is the one thing I hate about some United fans. Their sense of entitlement. They're like spoilt kids at times throwing their toys out of their prams. Other than that, they are alright
@David20 im not a man u fan lol It's just the truth if you look at their squad and the money they've been spending.
GAME OVER
Manchester was, is and will be forever RED.

Kompany being fortunate. It was a red card as clear as daylight.

crazy and fearful game, worth of Darby draw 3:3 will be dramatic
First blood to ManCity
smalling is in the starting line up?? Terrible
@erastus 4th goal for smalling, terrible for city
@erastus He has been united's best defender since City away.
@erastus ikr, Rojo would be the better option but i guess the leaked 'scandal' is partially a reason he isnt starting...
Gone for 2 nil City win.
Reckon City will win today. It would make things at least somewhat interesting at the top. United are ahead but they've no chance of closing in the gap when the fixtures they've got.
4-1 for manu
@nicholasnicklby nah...
3-1
MU - Manchester City 1:2/1:3
(3-1) falcao, herrara and wayne to score. Navas to score.
Falcao will score a hattrick
2-2, Rooney and Mata for United. Silva and Navas off the bench for City.
3-0 Manchester United
Who the hell voted for Anderson as MotM?

@SteveHyland are you trying to say that van persie has been a poor finisher since mata arrived?
@Erastus- No, I actually meant Mata's natural attacking positions happen to be the same as Robin's when he drops deep therefore giving the effect of having 2 number 10's on the field on occasion. City to win because of their quick counter attacks
0-0 De Gea man of the match...
Man Utd need to score at least two to win this game, because City will get penalty with Clattenburg to referee Manchester derby.
a draw would be good, but city will win
A win for each of Liverpool, Spurs and Saints will leave the gap between them and City at 4,4 and 5 points respectively if City are defeated by Man. Utd. So as a Liverpool fan, I should probably sing GGMU instead of YNWA alone at the weekend, yes?
@David20 city will destroy united, we will finish top 4 and as a liverpool fan I never sing GGMU NEVER, you will never walk alone
@shevchenco YNWA....YAWN
@David20 yes all liverpool fans will be singing GGMU this weekend :)
I think the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton will be hoping for a United win. Even Liverpool, I know but City are the team on the down at the moment and United are on the up.

2-0
United look strong again. 3-1
3-0(Rooney, Mata, Herrera)
City as the underdogs, it's been a while. Time to heal some wounds. 2-1 Rooney, Mata
If man utd doesn't win this match in a convincing fashion, i will be disappointed. We have a more solid as a team and the confidence is high. Fellaini to score from a set piece situation
united win
with the form united is in, i will go for them to win this tie even tho they are away from home
@john666 are you high or something? Man utd is at home
