Team News

  • Chelsea will be without key man Nemanja Matic for the Capital One Cup final against Tottenham.
  • Ramires will therefore play in central midfield alongside Cesc Fabregas, with Jon Obi Mikel still carrying an injury and therefore a doubt.
  • The biggest question marks surround which goalkeeper Jose Mourinho will choose, and whether Kurt Zouma or Gary Cahill - who had a torrid time at White Hart Lane on New Year's Day - will be selected to partner John Terry.
  • Tottenham have no injury concerns, but did play a Europa League tie on Thursday so fatigue could be an issue.
  • Christian Eriksen played 90 minutes but key man Harry Kane was amongst those rested.
  • Mousa Dembele could play in the number 10 role with Eriksen back out wide.
  • Michel Vorm has played every game in the League Cup so far, but number 1 Hugo Lloris should play here.

  • The first piece of major silverware of the season is up for grabs as Chelsea face Tottenham in the Capital One Cup Final at Wembley on Sunday.
  • Tottenham put 5 past the Blues in their clash on New Year's Day, becoming only the second team ever (after Pep Guardiola's Barcelona) to do so against a Jose Mourinho side. However, Chelsea beat Spurs 3-0 in December, and are the stronger team on paper, even if they are without key man Nemanja Matic.
  • Tottenham have won none of their last 4 matches and need their star players to find form again, and soon, if they are to win this one. Chelsea, meanwhile, have won only 2 of their last 5 games, and have barely been convincing in that time.
  • It is a final, though, and form will go out the window in this showdown. There is not a lot between the teams, but Chelsea are rightly favourites and should go on to lift the trophy.

  • Bad day for me and most of the Spurs fans. Liverpool and Arsenal won. Spurs loosed final.

  • @Woldemar Sort of Surprised it didn't at least go into ET since you guys played well. Mou is just too good at coaching his teams defensively, there was no getting through for TOttenham in Chelsea's 3rd.

  • @tle chelsea is a solid team there is a reason they are ranked 4th in world football and only lost 2 times in there respective league great club with great future congratulation to jose and Chelsea !!

  • Zouma with the assist? Really? Is that an assist?

  • really Chelsea are genius they know how to win trophies unlike arsenal

  • @khadar arsenal have won 41 tropies chelsea19

  • @arsenalfan1886 such a stupid comment without any logical backing behind it , different team, different players ,different clubs profile different era and different generation of football, for the last decade arsenal hasn't been mid table level , while Chelsea in the last 10 years won more trophies than spurs, arsenal ,Manchester city and Liverpool combined also if (when) mourinho win the epl this year he would win the same amount of epl titles in 4 years in charge of Chelsea as of the 3 that wenger achieved in almost 17 years ...

  • Easiest assist ever by Zouma

  • Chelsea in getting an undeserved lead shocker. Here comes the blue bus!

  • @NotBiased stay mad

  • @NotBiased so.... where's your bus? I can only see second goal for Blues from pretty good action :)

  • terry the legend

  • @ik32 can always depend on the man

  • @ik32 How does it feel to have a scumbag be a legend of your club?

  • The referee looks a little stressed :D

  • I'm sure we'll get to hear the original Willian song that is full of creativity today. Such poets those Chelsea fans...

  • @NotBiased Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea. Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea. Rinse. Repeat. Yawn

  • @dadaist haha genius those Chelsea lost.

  • 90min won't determine today's match

  • i think this game will be a draw 1:1 2:2 and to go on extra time or penalties. both teams are set for this game and both managers have very good technincal abilities.

  • 2-2 and ET

  • kane x12

  • @mikers135 you are just talking your emotion here, you dont know football, am not a fan of any though...looking into into the match critically...chelsea will take the cup...am a mancity fan even today we having a serious game that surely i cant say mancity can win due to liverpool new form....so, when you want to comment or talk football, take your emotion away, its make you say the right things.....regards

  • @remifestus Chelsea are clearly favorites, but in a one-off match at a neutral venue, anything can happen. You can't say Tottenham aren't capable of beating Chelsea at all, they just beat them two months ago. Neither team has been on good form. Anyway, I also expect Chelsea to win, but if the favorites always won there'd be no need to play!

  • MOU tidak butuh piala capital one. so, 2-3 untuk Tottenham, Kane 2, Lamela 1, Costa 1, Hazard 1 ;-)

  • Tottenham win here. Moany Mourinho will carry on.

  • No matic, no chance. Draw ;)

  • @Gokhan Really? really 4th best team in the world and u think they will lose to spurs in a final man u bpl fan boys are deluded i have a fight with a kid who said Liverpool and arsenal are bigger clubs than Chelsea because there fans are not plastic since when club success depends on the fans being from plastic or not lmao only in the epl a 5th and 4th team can say they are bigger than the 1st in the table

  • Honestly, I know we beat them earlier in 2015, but I'd be absolutely shocked and over the moon if we beat em again. Sadly, I don't think it will happen. 2-1 or 3-1 Chelsea IMO.

  • Without Matic, Chelsea's entire outfield is dominantly right footed

  • Why is everybody against Chelsea? Just because we're supreme?! Ok... Time to show for FA the beast they created. And time for revenge. 4x1, Hazard MotM!

  • @phuchoa- Chelsea fans need stop whining about the FA. You've had as many big decisions go your way as against you this season but the king of crap PR Mourinho seems to have brainwashed the Chelsea faithful into believing otherwise. And Bradford proved you aren't supreme. The best team in the league who will likely win it and a genuine contender for the champions league yes but pride cometh before a fall.

  • @mikers135- Not sure why you have such a problem with me. Either I boned your girlfriend or you're just envious of everyone with a triple-figure IQ.

  • @phuchoa No, not because they are supreme, but because they think they are.I hope they win absolutely nothing this season with all their talk about the quadruple before Christmas. Not a Spurs supporter but I will be cheering them on in this.

  • revenge is what want can't wait the game
