Klopp desperately needs to sort that back line out if they're to even be Europa cup place contenders next season. You can't hope to build success on shaky foundations. It's not Klopp's fault, he's inherited the poor squad from a poor manager but it IS his fault that Liverpool offered Mignolet a new deal. He kept Weidenfeller at Dortmund even though they could've/would've attracted better and it looks like history is repeating. If this is the back 5 who will start for Liverpool next season then they will be in the position of needing to score an average of 2 goals/game to even scrape 7th, a ratio nobody has this year. Since he took over, and granted you shouldn't expect perfection straight away but they haven't got an iota better since he did, Liverpool are 6w-5d-6l, 24f-26a- an average of 1.35pts/game. The goals scored is good but you need to score at least 1.25 x the amount you concede to finish in the top 7 or you are relying on circumstances going your way which is always risky.
@SteveHyland Hard to tell who's behind Mignolet's new contract, you never know who makes decisions at Liverpool. Klopp may have asked board to look for new keeper, like Leno, or not. All we know he's done is expressed his trust to his no. 1 goalkeeper, which is exactly what manager is supposed to do. Back four is another problem, but in this match Toure was forced to take Lovren's place, which was one reason to Pool's fall. Now Klopp has rest of the season to decide, which of his players have role to play next season and at the same time try to make to Europa League places.
@SteveHyland, I think you are being over critical about Klopp. Maybe Klopp has got Mignolet to sign an extended contract to be a substitute to a new keeper he is going to buy? we don't know. I do believe that the Liverpool board made an excellent choice in appointing Klopp and at the right time, it has given him half a season to asses the players and know who he wants to discard of and what he needs for next season. Brendan Bodgers has wasted so much money at Liverpool, if Klopp is granted nearly as much money he will turn this team around, in that i have no doubt. You can't expect any manager to turn a clubs fortunes around in a heart beat and, in the January transfer market.
@LionelJ- Mignolet's shot-stoping ability is, generally, world class, his decision making is sunday league class. I mentioned in the previous Liverpool game it was silly to give Mignolet a contract when Butland is available for £20m. Klopp stayed with Weidenfeller at Dortmund even though they could've attracted better so don't get your hopes up of signing somebody who is good enough.
Whoscored have predicted 5 draws out of the 8 games on today. It shows that they have no idea what will happen and are playing it safe by just going straight down the middle with a draw.
Klopp should bring Allen for Leiva or Can. 1-0 for Liverpool, Lallana will set Firmino to score. (Although there is a big chance Sunderland will score.)
I want to say i appreciate Liverpool fans for protesting against ticket prices this weekend, as it affects all football fans. I do believe it would have been better to not attend at all than to walk out after the 77th minute as the club already has the money. I was also upset today to hear Arsene Wenger say that the huge new money deal from sky next season should go on players and not on lowering ticket prices for fans. Without the fans the game has no basis. Lets see how much more money sky can make by selling the premiership around the world with no fans in the stadiums! We have already witnessed Italian football's implosion and it looks like the premiership will go the same way. Greedy footballers wage demands are out pricing the game. From next season the team that finishes bottom of the premiership still gets £99 million and £36 million parachute payments so i have heard. It's time for me to cancel my sky subscription and for ALL fans of the game to say enough is enough.
It has been said that apparently Sturridge is fit and ready for selection, so i'm going for a 2-0 to pool. Looking at the remaining fixtures for Sunderland big Sam really has got to produce a miracle to keep them up.

Mignolet gets more criticism than he deserves but end of the day he's not good enough. Liverpool needs a new keeper who mignolet can play backup to

looks like the fans left in the 77th minute and so did mignolet!
A draw seems likely, but Liverpool will win with 1 goal margin. 2-1 or 1-0

@mikers135 which was the exact right idea...

Liverpool won't win more than 1 goal margin... likely results 2-1 or 1-1

Kirchoff bossed the midfield against City and he could be an outlet here. 1-1
Liverpool should win here. Firmino to score.
