i would have been very happy with a point, but that was a stunning performance from my little leicester city. perhaps if we go on and win the league we may get afforded a little more respect from the posters saying city would win ... especially when there were two cities involved in the game !!
@Foxeyrod i hope to see sofian fegholy in leicester. So 2 very fast, skillful and dribbler wingers will disturbe and demolish any defense. Leicester have no substituts cos shortage of money, but they still the most harmonic style of playing
@Foxeyrod, I'm a Forest fan and traditionally Leicester don't like us, yet i have been cheering Leicester on all season. Leicester have had my full appreciation all season long and i think it's amazing what they are doing. There was an article on whoscored.com about 2 weeks ago asking if Leicester could really win the title and i said yes they can.
Leicester were very good and Man City were poor. I disagree that money doesn't win you titles, it did for City... and Chelsea.... and PSG and pretty much every major team in Europe at some point (although I have no problem with teams having large financial resources off the back of being successful since the success came first) but if you have a whole squad on the same page, then paper worth can be nulled somewhat. With still a 3rd of the season left to go, I doubt Leicester will win the title or even be a contender come the nitty-gritty. Sometimes inexperience can be helpful if the only experience is that of losing, but we've seen better teams than Leicester flop from better positions. Once they go from "unlikely winners" to "probable winners", we'll see whether they have it in them. It's relatively simple to play when there's no pressure, not so when people expect you to win. It's more than merely a case of hanging on, as history has shown. Top 4 is a probability now though.
@SteveHyland, in the modern world of football just which club has success without spending money? none. Even United fans who like to claim the money they spend is earnt is a total fallacy. United spent huge sums back in the day to get success. It was only the youth of 92 that made them a global superstar of a club again. Even my club Nottingham Forest purchased the first million pound player in Trevor Francis. This is why what Leicester City are doing is so amazing. They have spent so little money in todays market and are producing miracles. I disagree that you think they will crumble when they go to probable winners, this Leicester team have nothing to lose and so they are going out there week after week playing that way, as nobody expected them to be in this position.
@SteveHylandneinwe were in this position two years ago and ended up romping away with the championship with the same spine of schmeichel, morgan, drinkwater and vardy along with mahrez, wasalewski, schlupp, king and james. this will stand us in good stead , especially considering arsenal and tottenham have no recent experience of what we call in poker ...closing the game out... i had a tenner on leicester at 29/1 on betfair after we won 3-0 at swansea and it is now offering £98 cash out but i wont do it. my son has £1 on his telephone account at 5000/1 and cant cash out even if he wanted to .. not that he would.
your right steve, we could crumble but our last three results , winning 3-0 v stoke, 2-0 v liverpool and 3-1 v man city suggests we are more likely to pull away
@SteveHyland Five of the starting XI won the Championship 2 years ago. Not the same pressure or experience, but they had and handled the pressure to win the league that they were in. How many Arsenal or Spurs players have that experience?
Does anybody else try to reply to comments, have it posted (and highlighted in yellow) then come back to the page to see it disappear? Happened to me about 6 or 7 times now.
Mahrez is incredible!!!!!!! What a goal!!!!! This match highlights how money can't win you titles, will and determination can. I hope Leicester will hold on for the title and with arsenals history(of injuries and screwing up towards end of season) and man city's situation (guardiola coming in, players stop listening to pellegrini) the title is truly on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MSNism- Money can/does win you titles- Chelsea, Man City, PSG are only where they are because they were taken over by immensely rich people who poured triple-figured millions into their clubs. What you do need however, is to spend the money wisely and Pellegrini obviously hasn't done that. Leicester's performances thus far have shown what can happen if you don't have a great squad but everybody are on the same page but I would like to point out though that they haven't won the title yet and one cannot ignore what experience (or lack of) does in a title run-in. Liverpool had better players and were in a much healthier position than Leicester are atm yet failed. I'm not saying Leicester 100% wont win the title but it's more than a case of hanging on for 13 games. Away trips to Arsenal, Watford, Man Utd and home games against Southampton and Everton are all losable by a 2+-goal margin. Would like Leicester to finish top 4 and attract some big players in the summer though.
@What4 Mahrez will fit for Liver dortmund man city !!! but real madrid ? i think his career can be ruined at Real Madrid !! there's many examples like Elvir Bajlic Antonio Cassano Kaka royston drenthe ...but the earliest example of this when Real Madrid decided to bring French right back/winger Julien Faubert on loan from West Ham he made only two appearances for the Los Blancos, and was sent back to West Ham !! what about woodgate this is how REAL MADRID
Demichelis,Fernando,Kolarov,Bony,Mangala and many more, will be out for good when Guardiola arrives. I bet some players of City's U21 squad would play better than them.
@bravephilippines you have to give props to Nigel Pearson. He was active manager when Mahrez and Vardy were purchased. Ranieri polished these rough stones.
@bravephilippines you have to give props to Nigel Pearson.
It was his time when Mahrez and Vardy were purchased. Ranieri polished these two rough stones.
It looks like the Man City players have decided not to bother playing since the announcement that Pep is coming next season. The fans still pay the same money and the players still earn a fortune and should show some effort.
Foxes discipline and organisation is outstanding. Top player for me Kante. The desire and and hunger to press, recover the ball and tackle is outstanding ! City, WTF! Sterling really needs to wake up has no insight to take a risk in attack, take players on! Oatamendi spends more time on the floor terrible season he has having. Yaya looks a shadow of himself MP should of gone toe to toe with Lei and gone with 2 up top and gone for it. Pep has his work cut next season big clear out in the summer.
Not really the correct formation for City. It's a questionable tactic from Pellegrini. Kolarov vs. Mahrez over Clichy? Delph as a left mid? (to assist Kolarov I assume but still...) Sterling behind Aguero as #10 instead of Silva? And Toure should not be starting against a side that works as hard as Leicester City do. Damn captain's armband -_-
This is title match for Leicester, they are not quiet favourites for the title still so if they win at Etihad there's no much competition left for them as City are their strongest opponent. Arsenal have already entered the February mode so they won't wit!
I think Leicester have an advantage because they are more motivated and confident. Toure has become a liability for City so I think he'll be a weak link that Vardy will target. Vardy will probably target Demichelis if he starts as well. On the other side of things, City have somewhat improved their defense, and Aguero and Silva are coming into a vein of good form. I'm going with 2-1 or 3-2 Leicester, however this could go either way. It should be a very interesting game either way and may the best team win!
It no doubt has been a fairy tale for Leicester and this is where the cookie crumbles. This is the first of the most important 2 games of their season and even a point in both games will give them a huge advantage towards the title. If they can hold City and Arsenal, they might just do what was unthinkable 6 months ago and win the Premier league. This might turn out to be a low scoring affair.
I have the strong feeling that this will be a draw. I don't believe that Leicester would strive for the three points at all costs. Probably they'll play for the X and wait and try to get something from counterattacks. I will go with 1:1 or 2:2 for the result.
I base my predictions on the way i would place a bet, and this game is quite a quandary. City have a great home record and Leicester have a great away record. I wanted to say draw straight away but, i'm going for a City win 2-1 just on home advantage.
I'd go for City 3:2 but if anything this can be square at 1:1/2:2. Vardy and Aguero guaranteed to score in this match! If Liecester win at Etihad they'd be well on the way to the title as City is statistically the best team in the league on current form! may the best win!
2-1 Leicester, in the reverse fixture Leicester had slumped and were still unlucky not to get all 3 points. That being said, I think if Leicester wins the next three they will end up champions.
2-1 to Leicester...
Manchester is strugglin' to win games without all the injured players they have...
and we saw it against sunderland, leicester will take this 3 points from them without a lot of problems.
Mancity are not in a winning position psychologically. Leicester City are going into the match as a side who continue to disprove all those who don't believe in them. If the manager for Mancity will be leaving the club after the season and some one like Yaya Toure who is one of the major play makers of this team is no longer interested in staying after the season, then the team will have a big problem beating this in form Leicester City. To add to this, Mancity is playing 3 matches within 8 days against Leicester City who are playing two within the same period and even the performance from Mancity in their last Match suggest they were exhausted from the FA cup match. The worst performance from Leicester is a draw but I strongly believe Leicester City will beat Mancity to justify why they are sitting on top there and also to increase the points difference to reduce pressure on them.
Probably to early to say the winner of this game will win the PL, but a game neither side will want to lose. 1-1, tight game. The run in of the final 5 games will see the side that keeps it's nerves win the title. But again you also have Arsenal and Spurs who are improving and closing in, but I feel it's between these two.
I think it will be a draw. I can't go against Leicester, considering their form and that they have two losses in 24 games. If Leicester can somehow win here then I think they will actually win the title.
i would have been very happy with a point, but that was a stunning performance from my little leicester city. perhaps if we go on and win the league we may get afforded a little more respect from the posters saying city would win ... especially when there were two cities involved in the game !!

@SteveHyland yes steve , just recently
it's confirmed. Leicester will win the league.
Leicester cost : 22.5 million Man City cost : 230 million Leicester were 10 times better than a team 10 times more expensive than them
honestly bandwagon aside i hope leicester win the league it shows that money cant buy success

Arsenal is the next victim
DeMichelis and Otamendi were the best players of City? sure? De Michelis had big responsibility in 1st and 2nd goal...
@dib really some strange rating. Both center back didn`t have a good day have to say, though had some good clearances.
LOLOLOL Demichelis 7.9? Higher than Albrighton?
Never mind the washed up Hazard, Real Madrid will be beating down Leicester's door for Mahrez.

Demichelis 8.0? Who rated this game? hahaha
demichelis and otamendi both over a 7 rating. complete joke.
Well, well, well, the race is on between Leicester and Arsenal! Both would be worthy winners.
No pizza then :(
i feel sorry for Aguero, he deserves a better team. Only City player that i like
Leicester are great. City are such a bad, bad, bad team. The most reliant on individual talent of any so called "top side" in Europe in recent times.
@dSquib Kolarov is terrible, he wasted so many opportunities to shoot or to put a decent cross.
Champions League next season!
Good job Claudio Ranieri :P
@bravephilippines 1
@bravephilippines you have to give props to Nigel Pearson. He was active manager when Mahrez and Vardy were purchased. Ranieri polished these rough stones.

poor $ity
Woooooowwww!!!
LOL Is that legal?
That's some dream for the fans.
!!!
OMG 3-0 to Leicester......loving it
I want so bad to see Leicester x Barcelona.
Screw my prediction C'mon Leicester!
Not really the correct formation for City. It's a questionable tactic from Pellegrini. Kolarov vs. Mahrez over Clichy? Delph as a left mid? (to assist Kolarov I assume but still...) total football
Manchester C really needs to win this game..Would be funny if Palligrini were to win the title...Would Man C bring him back?
I don't expect Leicester to lose. Leicester definitely will score.
Leicester does score in most games. City should however manage to score more today; 2-1
Classic PL 0-0 match
@rckadm yeah, sure.
This is title match for Leicester, they are not quiet favourites for the title still so if they win at Etihad there's no much competition left for them as City are their strongest opponent. Arsenal have already entered the February mode so they won't wit!
2-0 City win
1-1 draw.Sterling MotM.
3-0 city win...but bilbal vs villareal match should have the preview instead of southampton vs west ham match
Draw of the year! Nice prediction whoscored!
Even though I'm not a fan of the mule league ill watch this "top of the table" clash lmao.
I think Leicester have an advantage because they are more motivated and confident. Toure has become a liability for City so I think he'll be a weak link that Vardy will target. 4-2 for city
@cheq Which city mate? They're both City.

Vardy to shine. 1-2 Leicester
man city to win, their home form is incredible. won't be easy though.
My gut is telling me Manchester City is going to win convincingly tomorrow... I would say 2-0 or 3-1
this game will be very hard on the leicester deffence more than the man city deffence, 90 min will be very hard
I have the strong feeling that this will be a draw. I don't believe that Leicester would strive for the three points at all costs. Probably they'll play for the X and wait and try to get something from counterattacks. I will go with 1:1 or 2:2 for the result.

@rogue Then you have to place two bets. go double chance for City and the other bet you go a win for Leicester
3-1, Leicester's defence won't hold up
@Goon I think you flipped the score mate. =D
I'd go for City 3:2 but if anything this can be square at 1:1/2:2. Vardy and Aguero guaranteed to score in this match! If Liecester win at Etihad they'd be well on the way to the title as City is statistically the best team in the league on current form! may the best win!
So difficult to predict, but going on attack alone,i have to fancy city 3-2
2:1 man city
2-1 Leicester, in the reverse fixture Leicester had slumped and were still unlucky not to get all 3 points. That being said, I think if Leicester wins the next three they will end up champions.

1-0 or 0-1 the first scorer will win
I think it will be a draw. I can't go against Leicester, considering their form and that they have two losses in 24 games. If Leicester can somehow win here then I think they will actually win the title.
If Leicester somehow manages to win against city or at least draw both this and the Arsenal fixture they have decent chances of winning the title imo.
