Man City
Arsenal
- Vincent Kompany only lasted 10 minutes against Real Madrid on Wednesday before breaking down with another muscular injury. He isn't likely to play again this season.
- Pablo Zabaleta has a calf injury and will miss out, as will David Silva. Jesus Navas is higher in the pecking order than Raheem Sterling at the moment and appears more likely to play on the flanks than the England international.
- Arsenal have no injury concerns ahead of Sunday's massive trip to Manchester. Santi Cazorla turned out for the Under-21s in midweek and is eyeing a return to the first-team this weekend after a six-month absence.
- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for a further six to eight weeks and will miss the Euros in the summer. Per Mertesacker has also been ruled out for the rest of the season, meaning Gabriel will fill in at the back.
- Danny Welbeck could come into the starting XI at Olivier Giroud's expense after the Frenchman failed to have the desired impact against Sunderland.
- Jack Wilshere is in line to make his first start of the season having come off the bench last weekend as he aims to prove his fitness ahead of Euro 2016.
lol, Man City in Europa League. I wonder what was Iheanacho thinking, when he had Aguero and Navas against 2 defenders (1 in front of Iheanacho), and he took a poor shot. Weird decision.
City probably would have reached the final if they played like this against Madrid...
Now we know why Man City were so bad against Real Madrid, they were saving themselves for this game.
Big Handsome Header.
where the hell is ozil?
@fervour21 He didn't make the team
@neumi17 He has a slight knock, you ninny.
This is the perfect opportunity for Pellegrini to get that Europa League spot for Pep that we all know Manuel wants.
Three key matchups: 1) Aguero vs Koscielny 2) Ozil vs Fernandinho 3) Welbeck vs Otamendi
Man City 1-2 Arsenal
Sanchez MOTM, especially if he plays LW
Zabaleta kolorov silva Kompany all out plus a very jaded Yaya may start
City did well in CL this season but after toothless performance against Real they're certainly not going to win here. I expect Arsenal to play like in previous meetings against City i.e see less of the ball than usually and rely more on faster attacks. Welbeck should start up front and I'd like to see Wilshere involved, possibly Cazorla too. Nothing will save Arsenal's season but finishing third would be nice to avoid tiresome CL qualifiers. Could be draw but I'll go with 1-2 for Arsenal.
Arsenal to win.
