Oezil's quality this season is going unnoticed because as a team we've flopped. A favourite stat of mine to give a rough indication of a player's value as a provider is by combining goals scored & chances created (league). Here I've compared some well-known players in the top 3 leagues, ordered by highest per game average (and including the actual amounts)- Oezil 136 in 31 (games); Payet 106 in 26; Neymar 107 in 29; de Bruyne 78 in 22; Bale 61 in 20; Messi 81 in 28; Silva 68 in 23; Mkhitaryan 77 in 27; Rodriguez 59 in 21; Mueller 78 in 28; Koke 74 in 30; Ronaldo 78 in 33; Suarez 70 in 30; Griezmann 69 in 33; Mahrez 65 in 33; Modric 53 in 28; Kroos 48 in 28. More to the game than just that of course but of those who have played 27 or more games, the only players to have an average above 3 are Mesut (4.39) and Neymar (3.69)- a player talked about being Barcelona's best this season and a genuine Ballon d'Or candidate. Just thought I'd share for the doubters. ;-)
I honestly think we could have the XI best individuals in the world and still not win the title while Wenger is in charge. There are no logical reason why he should be in charge next season. I don't think many neutral fans, players (Arsenal or not) who didn't play under Wenger, or any non-board member would say anything to the contrary. If anyone does have some logical reasons, please reply because as it is it looks as though he has only kept his job for this long for business reasons.
Now we *must* win all the remaining games, including the one against Man City, the only difficult game remaining, but just our luck, they've hit some form again. At least they have a tougher run-in, they need to face Stoke, and Southampton and Swansea away.
@neumi17- Creating 8 chances in a game is average? No player in the Bundesliga is anywhere near that level of "average". It isn't his fault the players on the end of his balls are messing up. Oezil = 130 chances created this season; Neymar AND Suarez = 130.
@SteveHyland Again I have to question your definition of " chances " ! I assume your referring to his key passes, which are a 131 this season. And again, a keypass is just an assist for a shot on goal. It doesn't say anything about the quality of shot or threat for the goalkeeper. Özil tends to pass a lot, more than others. But this doesn't mean every pass he makes creates a scoring opportunity, just a shot on goal. If I pass the ball 2 meters to the side and someone takes a shot on goal it is counted as a keypass. But certainly it is no clear chance!
@neumi17 Pardew said in his post-match interview that Ozil was the one really causing them trouble. Please stop commenting on players in games you don't watch, you're getting really boring neumi.
@What4 In the last 8 matches Özil had one assist. I don't have to watch all the games to notice that or the fact that his rating was 5 out of 8 times below 7...
@Milann He's played most of his games as substitute and WS likes to count those in too. But those matches he's started his rating is 7.72 which pretty impressive for a youth who has just took into the team.I wonder if he'll prove Arsenal don't necessary need to buy another top winger like WS recently argued in their very timely article.

@SteveHyland They would notice him at Barcelona. Ozil would get like 50 assists there

Watch us slip to 5th

Arsene must go!!!
Alexis only 1 dribble? Hahaha who count this??????
Don't think Özil will break Henry's record anymore. His last 5-8 games were all average at the most.

How on earth can Iwobi being rated only 6.8 ?

@Castle I agree iwobi has real talents. He will be a dangerous player.
2-0 Arsenal, MoM Ozil
Will Santi Cazorla be back in the squad for this match? I don't think so. but I hope so.
@Overmars My prediction 2-0 win for Arsenal. Hope Cech comes back into the team.
