Team News

  • Leonardo Jardim is unlikely to make drastic changes to his side at this time of the season as they head into this game at full strength, with new signing Gabriel Boschilia however not expected to be involved so soon after his arrival.
  • Stephan El Shaarawy and Bernardo Silva both impressed after coming off the bench in Saturday's 2-1 derby win at Nice and may well come in to the starting XI sooner than anticipated, though the former still lacks match fitness.
  • Aymen Abdennour is unlikely to feature after his agent revealed that the centre-back will most likely leave the club this month.
  • Hervé Renard was unhappy by his side's performance against the Ligue 1 champions at the weekend and is expected to make a few changes against l'AS Monaco.
  • Having worked on his fitness, Mounir Obbadi will most likely start against his former club this weekend, while Sébastien Corchia should return to a more defensive role.
  • Le LOSC have a host of injury concerns at the back - with the likes of Marko Basa, Ibrahim Amadou and Benjamin Pavard all doubtful - and may rely on youngster Souhaliho Meité alongside Renato Civelli on Friday evening,

  • Monaco are - with Paris-Saint Germain - the only title contenders who managed to open their Ligue 1 campaign with a win at the weekend, having defeated local rivals Nice for the third consecutive time at the Allianz Riviera in the league. Les Rouge et Blanc are therefore full of confidence as they welcome Lille only a few days before their crucial Champions League playoff meeting with Valencia.
  • Hervé Renard may have hoped for a more positive start to the season as Lille failed to benefit from Adrien Rabiot's red card to avoid defeat in their season opener against PSG. The calendar has not been kind to les Dogues as they face at least two other ambitious sides - Monaco and Bordeaux - this month.
  • While Monaco impressed in their competitive meeting with Young Boys, they looked far less dominant against l'OGC Nice until Leonardo Jardim's substitutions combined to lead them to a difficult win in the Derby. Nevertheless, their attacking personnel should perform to the standards expected against a possibly weakened LOSC side.
