- Fabinho will return to the back four against Montpellier after missing his side's humiliating 6-1 away defeat to Lyon due to suspension. Elderson Echiejile may also replace Andre Raggi in defence, with the Italian unable to hold down the left-back role on a long-term basis.
- Fabio Coentrao, Mario Pasalic and Almamy Touré are still out, but Joao Moutinho could be back in time for this crucial fixture.
- With Lacina Traoré suspended following his early dismissal against l'OL, Vagner Love and Guido Carrillo will compete for a starting spot up front.
- Helder Costa, who has started over Thomas Lemar in the last four league matches, may have to make way for his teammate for this one.
- Frédéric Hantz has brought some stability to his starting XI but is forced into at least two changes following training ground injuries sustained to goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourdren and left-back Jérôme Roussillon.
- Paul Lasne remains absent for Montpellier, while William Rémy is a doubt with a thigh problem. The latter may be required at left-back, however.
- Captain Hilton extended his contract for one more season with Montpellier on Thursday.
