WhoScored's Bundesliga Team of the Season: Michael Olise, Florian Wirtz, Xavi Simons
Bayern Munich star Michael Olise is the Bundesliga Player of the Season. The Frenchman is one of five Bayern players in the side, while RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Gladbach are also represented in the XI.
Peter Gulacsi (RB Leipzig) – 6.89
Peter Gulacsi wasn’t the busiest goalkeeper in the Bundesliga this season, though he still ranked fourth for saves (98). The Hungarian also kept more clean sheets (14) than any other shotstopper in the division to help return a WhoScored rating of 6.89.
Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich) – 7.22
The first of five players from champions Bayern Munich, Dayot Upamecano makes the XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.22. The Frenchman scored twice and returned the best pass success rate (94.1%) in the division to feature in the Team of the Season.
Willi Orban (RB Leipzig) – 7.08
The second RB Leipzig representative, Willi Orban was impressive at both ends of the pitch this season. Indeed, Orban scored five times in the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, while he ranked among the top 10 players for both clearances (167) and aerial wins (104) to help return a WhoScored rating of 7.08.
Diogo Leite (Union Berlin) – 7.03
Rounding off the backline is Union Berlin centre-back Diogo Leite, who earned a WhoScored rating of 7.03 in the Bundesliga this season. Leite made the 11th most clearances (157) and 11th most tackles (64) to justify his selection.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich) – 7.74
With a WhoScored rating of 7.74, Michael Olise is the Bundesliga Player of the Season. Olise was one of only two players to register double figures for both goals (12) and assists (15) in Germany’s top tier this term, the latter ranking first. In addition, the Frenchman also placed top for key passes (91), clear-cut chances created (32) and accurate through balls (16) to help secure the award.
Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) – 7.50
Like Olise, Florian Wirtz also reached double figures for both goals (10) and assists (12) in the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign. The in-demand German also made more successful dribbles (82) than any other player on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.50.
Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) – 7.38
Joshua Kimmich also makes the best XI having returned a WhoScored rating of 7.38. Kimmich made more passes per game (103.8) than any other player, while a 92.9% pass success rate was the fifth best.
Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) – 7.56
The penultimate Bayern player in the side, Jamal Musiala’s 12 goals ranked among the top 10 players in the Bundesliga this season, while 72 successful dribbles was the third most to help the German to a WhoScored rating of 7.56.
Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig) – 7.32
Completing the midfield, Xavi Simons will be a player on a number of wishlists this summer. The Dutchman is expected to leave RB Leipzig in the off-season, and having scored 10 times and provided seven assists, Simons is good value for his spot in this team with a WhoScored rating of 7.32.
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) – 7.72
The top scorer in the Bundesliga this season features on the frontline. Harry Kane scored more goals (26) than any other player in the division this season, while 114 shots ranked second. Kane also managed eight dribbles as the England striker secured his first major piece of silverware of his career.
Tim Kleindienst (Gladbach) – 7.35
Joining Kane in attack is Gladbach frontman Tim Kleindienst, who earned a WhoScored rating of 7.35. The 29-year-old scored 16 times for the Foals in 2024/25 and won the second most aerial duels (150) to justify his spot in the XI.
