WhoScored's Premier League Team of the Week: Alexander Isak, Amad, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes

 

Newcastle are the dominant side in the Premier League Team of the Week following their 3-0 win over Wolves. Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Fulham are also represented. 

 

Martin Dubravka (Newcastle) – 8.04 

 

The first of three Newcastle players to make the XI, the Magpies may have eased to a 3-0 home win over Wolves, but they needed Martin Dubravka’s heroics between the sticks to claim all the spoils. Indeed, the Newcastle shotstopper made seven saves in a clean-sheet attaining display. 

 

 

Amad (Manchester United) – 9.54 

 

Manchester United’s hero on Thursday night, Amad became the first United player to score a Premier League hat-trick since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2022 as Ruben Amorim’s side claimed a late 3-1 win over Southampton. The 22-year-old netted with three of six efforts, completed four dribbles and made three key passes to land a WhoScored rating of 9.54. 

 

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) – 7.96 

 

Marc Guehi features at the heart of the defence having earned a WhoScored rating of 7.96 in Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win at Leicester. Not only did the Eagles centre-back net his third league goal of the season at the King Power Stadium, but Guehi was on hand to make five clearances and one tackle in a resolute display. 

 

Murillo (Nottingham Forest) – 7.78 

 

Partnering Guehi at the back is Nottingham Forest star Murillo. The 22-year-old put in a powerhouse display in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, making a season-record setting 17 clearances in the stalemate, and chipping in with an additional four tackles and two interceptions. 

 

Pervis Estupinan (Brighton) – 7.59 

 

Rounding off the backline is Brighton star Pervis Estupinan, who earned a WhoScored rating of 7.59 as the Seagulls ended an eight-game winless run at Ipswich on Thursday. Estupinan got forward well for Fabian Hurzeler’s side, making two successful dribbles, one key pass and firing off one shot. 

 

 

Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle) – 8.39 

 

Bruno Guimaraes registered an assist for the third game running in Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Wolves, that coming from one of four key passes. Guimaraes didn’t give the Wolves midfield a moment’s rest as he made five tackles and two interceptions in a standout display that saw the Brazilian land a WhoScored rating of 8.39. 

 

Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa) – 8.33


Aston Villa denied David Moyes a winning return to the Goodison Park helm, with Boubacar Kamara on hand to put in a Player of the Match display in Wednesday’s 1-0 win on Merseyside. The Frenchman was key in the narrow victory as he made three clearances, three interceptions and one tackle to help return a WhoScored rating of 8.33.

Phil Foden (Manchester City) – 8.76 


Phil Foden maintained his impressive goalscoring form against Brentford having bagged a midweek brace in west London on Tuesday night. Foden got the better of Mark Flekken with two of three shots, and was unfortunate not to add an assist having made three key passes to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 8.76. 

 

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – 8.10 

 

The second Manchester City player in the side, Kevin De Bruyne provided his fourth Premier League assist of the season in the capital, that coming from one of eight key passes. Two clearances, one tackle and one interception saw the Belgian earn a WhoScored rating of 8.10. 

 

Alex Iwobi (Fulham) – 8.90 

 

While Fulham fell to a 3-2 loss at West Ham in Graham Potter’s first game at the London Stadium helm, Alex Iwobi did enough to feature in the Premier League Team of the Week having landed a WhoScored rating of 8.90 in the midweek London Derby. Iwobi struck with two of three shots, made five key passes and completed three dribbles to feature. 

 

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) – 9.60 

 

Saving the best for last, Alexander Isak is the Premier League Player of the Week with a WhoScored rating of 9.60. Isak was directly involved in all three Newcastle goals against Wolves, netting with two of three shots and providing one assist with his only key pass to maintain his rampant form.
