Team News

Sporting Gijon
Real Madrid
  • Burgui is both suspended and ineligible to play against his parent club this weekend, due to the terms of his loan contract.
  • Moi Gomez and Victor will battle it out to replace the Real Madrid-owned winger on the left-hand side, with Duje Cop slotting in up top.
  • Elderson is expected to retain his place at left-back over Roberto Canella, with Lillo continuing on the other flank due to niggling injury problems for Douglas.
  • Dani Carvajal misses out due to suspension for the visitors, which nails down Danilo's starting place at right-back.
  • Raphael Varane and Pepe are set to be long-term absentees at centre-back, meaning that Sergio Ramos and Nacho have a congested fixture list ahead of them.
  • The likes of James Rodriguez, Isco, Lucas Vazquez, Mateo Kovacic and Marco Asensio could all rotate in, with Alvaro Morata likely to get the nod up top.

Prediction

  • Sporting have won just one of their last five matches in La Liga, a record that needs to improve if they are to clamber out of the relegation zone while actually at risk of being cut adrift.
  • At El Molinon, a 3-1 win over Granada in the last victory in eight home fixtures for Sporting, whose failure to make their own stadium a fortress has left them needing to pick up points wherever they are in the business end of the campaign.
  • Real Madrid will be high on confidence after beating Bayern Munich 2-1 in Germany during the week, but Zinedine Zidane will have to make a lot of alterations in order to keep his squad fresh for the return Champions League leg next week.

  • Isco wtf lol. 2 goals, 94% pass, 10 dribbles...all I can say is LOL. Sporting Gijon got owned by Isco

  • Just imagine what Isco could do with a sample of Messi's HGH batch...

  • @mourasaint loooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • what a coincidence Isco used to play for Malaga and he scored a brace !!! (Barcelona vs Malaga 2 - 0 ) Morata also played for Juventus and he scored one goal !! both players scored 3 goals for Real Madrid ( Juventus vs Barcelona 3 0 )

  • Amazing ISCO ..

  • Loved ISCO's Disco today.

  • @rmd007 wtf? isco is already his nickname. pls don't pretend to be ray hudson and give players dumb nicknames.

  • i dont see what people like about players like mateo, james, fabio. they are good players but just not good enough for real madrid imo. james is such a lazy player, he would loose the ball and just not care about running back and getting it. isco and asensio where everywhere covering, winning the ball, helping, starting play. morata scored but is just too clumsy, real should cash in on him since his value is so high, imo he is clearly not on the level of morientes. i think he is more like chicharito that tries really hard but not that skilled.

  • @edemex Morata is merely average...which makes him significantly better than Benzema.

  • That run from Isco in minute 73. These are the things dreams are made of.

  • barcelona want isco but cant have him : )

  • @loli it was Messi who wants Barcelona getting Isco to Camp Nou

  • Isco shines

  • Isco would walk into any other team's starting 11. Absolutely delightful to watch.

  • Thank you Isco

  • isco!!!!!

  • bwin league, so must be fixing under their control:) of course referee helping in this case:)

  • @koziol.mutant pls entertain me and tell me what the ref did to help real madrid win? i do recall a penalty on ramos that was not called, a intentional foul from sporting where they didnt play the ball, just held the player to stop the counter and only one was actually a yellow. if anything this joke of a ref hurt-ed real madrid

  • Its time for Ramos to step in. But Kroos is missing for the assist

  • @neumi17 gg

  • ramos last minute goal incoming

  • 1-1 or 2-1

  • @neumi17 clearly dislikes madrid

  • @loli My tipps are made without any emotions, likes or dislikes, just based on form, conditions and p probabilities. As opposed to most others...

  • @neumi17 this is not Barcelona !! Isco were playing for Malaga And Morata for Juve !! both scored 3 today( Juventus 3-0 barcaaa) One more thing Malaga scored a brace so Isco does :D

  • Real Madrid starting XI: Casilla,Coentrao,Nacho,Ramos,Danilo,Kovacic,Isco,James,Asensio,L.Vasquez,Morata Apart from Nacho and Ramos, every other starter against Bayern is being rested. The players coming in must perform to prove if Real Madrid really has strength in depth.

  • Madrid averages 4 goals a game whenever Ronaldo doesn't start.

  • @jefferee but the opposition is weaker

  • @jefferee quite true

  • Kovacic on Casemiro's spot, Asensio falls back into the CM/CAM and Ronaldo to start on the LW. I'd go 0-2, 0-3, not a lot of action, just a standard match

  • Morata to score and RM to win @ 1 - 2

  • Morata to score and RM to win @ 1 - 2

  • 1 3

  • Casilla,Danilo,Kovacic,Isco,James,Asensio,L.Vasquez and Morata should start here instead of Navas,Carvajal,Casemiro,Modric,Kroos,Bale,Ronaldo and Benzema respectively. Varane,Pepe and Coentrao are injured and therefore Marcelo,Ramos and Nacho will likely also start. Real Madrid are playing against Bayern Munich on Tuesday the 18th and Barcelona on Saturday the 23rd. Those two games are likely to be the hardest games of the season and are back to back so it would be wise for Zidane to make the aformentioned changes. The likes os Kovacic,Isco,James,Asensio,L.Vasquez and Morata have proven time and time again that they are quality players that Zidane can count on, perhaps the depth is one of the reasons Real Madrid are still in it for both the Liga and the Champions League. Hopefully the team performs well, wins and enters such an important week in high spirits. James and Morata likely to get involved in the scoreline.

  • @Turan Out of Kroos and Casemiro, one will play for sure. I hope Kroos plays and Casemiro gets a rest. Kroos has proven that he can play 3 games in a week with no problem.
