On a side note, who do my fellow Gooners want to see as the next manager? Max Allegri for me. I think the fact his philosophy is entirely different to Wenger's- he is more defensively minded, tactically savvy, situationally adaptable and a bit of a hard-arse is exactly what we need at this moment in time. We are defensively soft and too often players look disinterested (hard to tell if that is actually the case though). Ancelotti would be more of the same and I'm not too sure that he still has it in him at the top level; Rodgers? er... no thanks, does anybody remember the Liverpool cave-in and his ability to clinch defeat from the claws of victory?; Enrique actually underachieved given the quality of players at his disposal and I think the ex-Arsenal players need more experience before taking a job this big. I do hope whoever it is, they are given financial support and at least a few years to implement their style.
@SteveHyland Leonardo Jardim
@SteveHyland I've disliked Wenger for a couple seasons now, but I think the second half of this season he's really picked it up, and I honestly wish he would've stayed, at least for one more season, just to bring in some good french talent, like Fekir. I also don't really like any of our managerial inquisitions, I would've loved to see Tuchel as Wengers successor, however that seems unlikely now. Allegri is my top pick out of your mentions, but I think he will go somewhere else. As long as the manager signs a proper DM and a new Centre-Back, I don't really care.
We weren't great and defending at times was shambolic (whoever the new manager is will have to make that the priority including signing a genuine DM because we will be the only one of the top 6 without one next season) but I did find it funny that the match was described as "not a 4-1 game until the last 10 minutes" as though there is some calculus which determines the first 80 are more important. The fact is West Ham capitulated in the final 10 minutes and we took advantage. Up until then the number of chances was fairly even but we deserved to win. I expect 8 or 9 of the team who started today to start against Atletico Madrid and hopefully this win will give us the confidence to be progressive in that game- hopefully not at the expense of defensive shape because Atletico will pick us off in a way West Ham did not in the first half.
Great stuff from the Gunners...hope we can continue this form and, hopefully, lift the Europa League trophy at the end of the season.....COYGS!!!
Wow arsenal flying dying minutes
Nothing for the gunners to play for - Europe on their mind and AW's future decided...2-2
At 6/1 for a West Ham win, it's worth waiting and seeing the defence that Arsenal put out. Also if Iwobi starts it's another bonus for West Ham
Arsenal players will win , a tribute for Wenger
@Cannavaro69 Also Europa League @ 4.00,what do you think?
@lias I think Arsenal players will win the Europa league for Arsene Wenger , they will do thier best , this is the only trophy they got and they will fight for it with their lives
@Cannavaro69 Yep, thats why i will bet at 4,00. Thank you!
@lias No chance with their defence
Will there be #WengerOut signs now that he's, you know, out?
1-0 are u kidding at least 2 goals from Arsenal - ha - ha
should be more fun here, 2-1 or 3-2
Arsenal -1.5 first half for (4.7)
2-1 Arsenal.
@SteveHyland Agree. There will be goals in this one. What with our shite defence.
