Said it before but this is the least Arsene-like team he's had. Not a scrap of flair in that starting eleven. Arsene has basically done almost everything his biggest critics have said he should do, but Arsenal are still average. Which would suggest three things - the rot at Arsenal goes above Arsene, he can't get a song out of any combination of players and system, and the pundits were wrong about what has been ailing Arsenal for 10+ years. But we knew all that already.
@dSquib- I think most Arsenal fans realise it goes above Wenger and have done for some time, hence the number of "Kroenke Out", "Gazidis Out", "Board Out" etc banners, sentiments expressed online and protests organised (not that anybody turns up to the protests despite saying they will...). It is almost impossible to know how much the hierarchy are to blame and how much Wenger is to blame though because we, the fans, receive conflicting reports about money available for transfer funds, ambitions for the upcoming season and everything in-between. I think all of them have failed to do their job but as to what percentage they are to blame, respectively, is nothing more than a guess because of all the possible permutations. What do you, as a non-Arsenal fan, think the problem(s) is/are?
What a result! Chelsea also losing today. Somehow a point at Anfield doesn't look as bad anymore . Although we all know the media's focus will be on United's defensive display.
@ilovefooty I know what you mean, forget them , we are contesting for the title and should only focus on city , the rest won't reach top two in my opinion
Interesting to see Welbeck and Iwobi in the starting line-up. Most national team players rested. This is a strong team for covering the field. Firepower on the bench. COYG!!!
@ilovefooty@Champion Oh my Gosh! Weren't you guys fighting a minute ago? Oh! I get it. It was a LOVERS' QUARREL. Okay, that was awkward? Maybe I shouldn't be a third wheel in your relationship. Carry on, guys. YEAH LOVE WINS IN THE END!
If anything would happen it would be a shocker if Watford beat Arsenal. Arsenal are the better squad. In no way they are performing below par. Watford yes are in form but cannot pick one single player from their squad that would even play for Arsenal! How Whoscored predicts this 2:1 is beyond logic! I think Arsenal will win 2:0 at Vicarage Road!
I wouldn't risk Kolasinac. He has, what is reported as, a minor hip injury. Arsenal are the best team in the world at turning minor injuries into major ones. I expect Koscielny and Oezil to start and we will likely see both the BFG and Holding in defence. I would therefore like the first XI to look something akin to: CECH, KOSCIELNY, MERTESACKER, HOLDING, BELLERIN, RAMSEY, XHAKA, MONREAL, OEZIL, ALEXIS, LACAZETTE. Watford play nice football but it is at the expense of defensive solidarity. They were all over the place against city and Marco Silva is certainly attack-biased. Nothing wrong that, of course, except for when you face a better attack. 3-1 Arsenal.
@SteveHyland Depends on the player, players like Sanchez will demand to play even when others want to rest. Kolasinac might be the same. I agree it's wise to rest though. I think Marco Silva isn't attack-biased, it depends on opponent (AND HOME/AWAY) how he sets up. I expect him to try to control this match being the home side vs a team using a back 3. This will give space to Arsenal on the counter to exploit
Watford 2- 2 Arsenal
Big show of faith in Marco Silva from WhoScored.com and Josh Wright - I predict a lots of goals but either a draw or win for Arsenal.
Alexis, Dat Guy Welbeck and Ramsey will all start. Wilshere won't.
@Overmars Kudos to Josh Wright in predicting the score and result. But to be fair the penalty was a gift from the ref and the 2nd Watford goal was offside.
easy 3 points win for arsenal I tip arsenal to walk away with the title this season
maybe in future Watford are capable of doing a Leicester
Watford 0 - 3 Arsenal
@Overmars- I desperately hope we do not win the EL unless it is along with the title. If we do, then it will paper over the cracks again. Our owner and board only really care about champions league participation and getting into the CL will continue the farce which is Emirates-era Arsenal F.C. If Wenger fails to deliver us the title despite having the massive bonus of not having CL commitments and (at the moment) having a better squad, at least on paper, than last season then I hope we finish 8th and fail to reach any final, domestic or continental, so that the pressure on the board from the fans will force them to change their whole ethos.
@SteveHyland Steve, we're never going to win the title again with Wenger in charge. So put that idea to bed. He's tactically inept and constantly failing in the transfer market. Our only hope is a cup just like last season, and the most prestigious cup competition we are entered to is the Europa League.
@SaifHasan in his dreams , lol . Ask him when was the last time they won the title , they lost their favourite 4th position, I think he was talking about being 4th , that's their title , lol
This was not an upset by any means, arsenal is very average

Wrong about the rested players! Just about the whole midfield was playing somewhere last week. COYG!!!

Why has stupid FFARIS kid not posted?
@Champion Taxi for Ffaris

@Ffaris We're still mortal whoscored enemies ;) but I just love that taxi for Ffaris meme.
Tom 'the spanish' man of the match.
arsenal win and both teams to score.

Arsenal will score in both halves
Watford 1 - 0 Arsenal Troy deeney to score
Very dangerous to place your money on Arsenal on this one, indeed frightening.I would rather put my coins on Watford +2AH
easy 3 points win for arsenal I tip arsenal to walk away with the title this season maybe in future Watford are capable of doing a Leicester Watford 0 - 3 Arsenal
@shakes was this an ironic wind up post?
@shakes Im an arsenal fan and even I know we won't win the league this year. Best hope is the Europa League not PL

@footballover Aren't you a man U fan? You couldn't even finish 4th last 2 seasons...
