  • Burnley seem to have their strongest side out bar Stephen Ward and Brady, Mee was faultless and I did not know Bardsley could play well.

  • Pope was dominant in a defence that was outstanding and had to be. Brighton;'s normal game seem to lack flair or guile.

  • These are the two teams with the smallest amount of expected goals scored. When we look at scoring chances allowed, or expected goals against, Brighton is among the worst- and Burnley among the best in the league, however, the gap is only three goals when we exlude penalties.. Brighton is yet to lose at home against similar types of opponents (W against Stoke, Newcastle, West Brom), although have done better in terms of xG scored/allowed against less defensively oriented teams such as Southampton, Everton and Palace (all draws). It's beyond me how Burnley manages to win week after week with an average expexted goals rate of +- 0.5 while allowing their opponents an accumulated xG rate of around 1.1. Clearly the "luck" has to end at some point doesn't it? Now even more when they might be missing some key players in defence, there is a good chance for injury-free Brighton to grab the three points here. 0-0 is my prediction...
