Team News

APOEL Nicosia
Tottenham
  • APOEL head coach Georgios Donis is unable to call on Lorenzo Ebecilio for Tuesday's meeting with Tottenham, with Mickael Pote in line to come in to the side up front.
  • Zhivko Milanov and Georgios Efrem are also ruled out for the welcome of the Premier League side.
  • Donis, though, could name a similar looking XI to the one that lost at Real Madrid last time out in the Champions League.
  • After his red card in the 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, Jan Vertonghen is suspended for the midweek trip to Cyprus.
  • Dele Alli serves the second of a three-match ban, while Mousa Dembele misses with an ankle issue that saw him miss the 3-2 win over West Ham on Saturday.
  • Serge Aurier was red carded in that victory, yet should start at right-back, but Danny Rose, Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Victor Wanyama are all sidelined.

Prediction

  • APOEL fell to an expected defeat at Real Madrid in gameweek one and have been struggling domestically, with just one win from their opening three games of the campaign.
  • Tottenham landed a 3-2 win over West Ham at the weekend, in what was an entertaining affair at the London Stadium. Away from Wembley, they are a much tougher proposition and they have the means to make it two wins from two Champions League outings this season in midweek.
  • APOEL have lost five of their last nine Champions League ties at home and while Spurs have won just two of their last eight away matches in Europe's elite club competition, the north London side should secure a win here.
