  • lacablood and aubablood have to play together always

  • Based on these stats xhaka may be valuable to the passing game that arsenal employ, but the CBs require protection and toreira is much capable at that side of the game. toreira must always start whenever he is fit. cech with his feet is a time bomb that will explode before arsenal knows it

  • More of the same of what we've seen in every Arsenal game this season- the sublime and the ridiculous. It is surely only a matter of time before Leno starts. It's clear the CBs have no confidence in Cech despite orders to pass it to him when there is nobody available in front. If Cardiff had some quality in the forward positions then they would have capitalised on our mistakes and been a couple of goals up within the first 10 minutes. As for the rest of the players: Lacazette was excellent; Mustafi very good; Ramsey & Aubameyang decent; Torreira above average; Sokratis, Bellerin, Monreal & Guendouzi average, Xhaka below average and Oezil poor. Welbeck & Mkhitaryan had little time to influence the game. I am still far from enamoured with the system, it leaves far too much space and I don't see us ever being able to truly control a game and prevent regulation counter attacks while we are set up are we are. The average CM positions would have been perfect had we played a 3-man midfield.

  • @SteveHyland "Oezil poor", he got 350K/week. Oezil is one of the best financial intelegent player, with many averages performances, he can persuade Arsenal to hand him the astronomical contract. LOL Sell Oezil and Xhaka asap, then invest in much better mental quality player, bench Cech in all competion. Emery must choose Leno, Torreira and Laca for starting XI. With this current selection, Arsenal risk to finish outside top 6. If Emery still play with Cech, Xhaka and Oezil, he sent the wrong message to the team. Emery need to start doing his job, then the players shall deliver.

  • Harry Arter is such a dirty player, bad at tackling and puts more effete in trying to start fights than playing football

  • Why is Leno still on the bench? Give the man a start already; Cech was finished 2 years ago.

  • goal by cardiff!

  • For the third time in 3 games Özil has been the worst player. Zero shots, zero dribbles, only 71% pass success !! and only one key pass ...

  • @neumi17 And zero assists to the 3 goals ...

  • Can't get that new costume of Goal Keepers for try to dribble. Yesterday a huge mistake from Alison, LLoris in the WC final and so many others. Fortunately for Czeh the ball was over crossbar. Maybe coachs forced them do that? Keepers should play with their hands only, with feet they're just bad.

  • @dib Everyone trying to be Neuer and failing at it.

  • Cardiff win or draw

  • ozil is shit

  • I think I'll try under 2.5 goals here

  • Why Özil not in the starting lineup?

  • @Cannavaro69 How do you know he is not? The line up is only available one hour prior to the game. But in any case, leaving him out is probably a good idea if they want to win ...

  • Expect the 1927 FA Cup Final when Cardiff beat Arsenal 1-0 to get at least one mention in the commentary.

  • @MEHJones daaamn dude from where you got this statistic? )))

  • @Cannavaro69 Although I live in London, I have Welsh roots and was born in Cardiff :)

  • @MEHJones Nice to meet you mate :)

  • @Cannavaro69 :)

  • Tips for today: Arsenal win @1.60 / United win @1.70 / Leipzig win @1.35 / Lazio win @1.25 / Betis 1X @1.40 / Atalanta win @1.45...Total Odds @9.30....Start your bet and good luck

  • 0-2

  • Auba, Laca and Mkh on top. Ramsey, Torreira and Guendouzi as midfielders. What a win that would be.

  • @Xlikely I'd say anything less than 3 points against Vinny would be concerning...

  • @offside Yeah, agree.

  • I would start Lacazette and Torreira in this match if they're fit.

  • @Overmars- Torreira as a #8 or #6 and with whom?

  • @SteveHyland Probably in bottom of the midfield instead of Xhaka, I don't see reason to start both at least against Huddersfield. But do you refer #8 as a advanced midfielder of 4-3-3 or rather more advanced player of DMs in 4-2-3-1? In the latter formation, it could be eventually imbalanced to play #6, #8 and number 10, particularly if 10 is Özil. Guendouzi could be able to play #7 (in Mourinho terms) as a player between ball winning midfielder and attacking midfielder. I wouldn't count Torreira as an option for #8 in 4-3-3 either, although only other options seem to be Ramsey and Guendouzi as Xhaka and Özil aren't capable of closing down the opposition. It's a shame we got rid of Wilshere. Maybe Emery should try Iwobi as a CM at some point?

  • @Castle- My #8 is simply a box-to-box midfielder, which could be in any formation. I'm not sure what the current position-per-squad-number is, since they have changed down the years, but I tend to fall into continental numbering so the #6 is DM and the #4 CB whereas in the UK it used to be, and maybe still is, the other way round. Shirt numbers have little meaning now though. There has been far too much space in the middle of the park in all three games this season so I would prefer a 1-2 midfield (4-1-4-1/4-3-3) simply so there is somebody always there in the middle. Guendouzi and Xhaka aren't positionally sound, though Matteo is very young, so if Granit plays it has to be as a #6 to ensure he isn't leaving space. It's a shame Kolasinac was injured which subsequently meant Maitland-Niles was injured because he is ideal as a #8 and I would have liked to see him and Aaron flanking Torreira.

  • I'm not sure how credible it is but there are rumours that Lacazette is dismayed at not starting and is looking for a move in this transfer window. I can certainly understand his annoyance at being benched and if Emery wants to keep him, he will need to expediently involve him in the team beyond a 30-45 minute sub. There is a difference between being confident in your approach, even when times are tough, and being obstinate. We looked far better against Man City and West Ham when Laca was in the #9 and Auba was LW. I'm hopeful that the fact Unai changed personnel/positioning reasonably quickly against West Ham shows he has seen the same. There should be no reason to choose the 'better defensively' option to play LW (Iwobi) against Cardiff- a team who have yet to score in the league despite playing Huddersfield & Newcastle, both of whom were down to 10 men for 30 minutes (inc. stoppage time), so if Lacazette doesn't start, I would question his future at the club.

  • @SteveHyland interesting,
