Man City

Lyon
- Benjamin Mendy picked up a knee injury at the end of last week and is not expected to feature here.
- Fabian Delph is expected to replace Mendy at left-back, but Aymeric Laporte can also play there.
- Nicolas Otamendi, Vincent Kompany and John Stones compete for a starting berth at centre-back.
- Leroy Sané was handed his first start of the season at the weekend and scored after a few minutes. He could keep his place in attack here.
- Sergio Agüero avoided any serious injury at the weekend but may only be fit enough for the bench in midweek.
- Claudio Bravo and Kevin De Bruyne are long-term absentees for the home side.
- Jason Denayer never made a single appearance during five years at Manchester City but could finally make his first appearance at the Etihad, with new club Lyon.
- Memphis Depay was rested at the weekend and will start against City. Depay isn't the only former Manchester United player at Lyon, with Rafael also expected to start on Wednesday.
- Moussa Dembele scored twice against City for Celtic last season but may have to settle for a place on the bench if Bruno Génésio is conservative with his selection.
Expected more from the best player in the world, Fekir. But I guess he's not at 100% just yet.. 1-2 I take it.
@dynek Why would he be the best player ?
I want Pep to prove me wrong, I think he won't win the UCL with Man City
@TSN You can't judge them in thier first CL match. Kevin De Bryne is injured and city didnt play well without him , thats the problem dude
I would like to play for city instead of Jesus. I will run without touching any ball.that will allow city to build up their play without counting on this object called (jesus).
Quick, inject more oil money.
+ Sterling, David Silva, Ederson - The rest from the starting 11
Thats not normal
Lol, sheikh city
Pep and Champions league is just not a good fit. Luckily Messi carried him in Barca
@MullerMovingPick - Who carried his Bayern to three semis in a row?
@andrew7taylor If a little kid was coaching Bayern at that time he will carry them to three semis
@andrew7taylor Before he took over, Bayern had made it to 3 UCL finals in 4 previous years winning one of them.
@andrew7taylor He took the champions league winning side and signed the best striker in the world. Goes on to get his ass whooped 5-0
@andrew7taylor Mercedes did
@everybody - 1, Funny, but not van Gaal nor Heynckes nor Ancelotti could do three semis in a row. I think they are considerably more qualified than a little kid. 2, Exactly, and they went nowhere near in year two. There's something to be said about consistency. Not since Hitzfeld 99-01 could Bayern win three league titles in a row. Even Heynckes did a Neverkusen in '12. 3. They signed Messi or Ronaldo? Haven't heard about that one! But a single match is so luck-dependent, everybody runs into one sometime. RM-Napoli 6-2, Juve-Dortmund 5-1, Barca-PSG 5-1. Gettting there where a single match counts, that's the hard part. 4. What exactly did Mercedes do?
Lyon were struggling in previous matches only to surprise Man City?
wtf is happening here?! is this fkin real?!
Fekir is amazing
Sané incoming and scoring.
@neumi17 Lol
5,84 rating for ManCity and 5 players below 6.00 .... Haven't seen that before !
City will lose this one
uh oh
Oh 1-0 this will be fun
City win in both half
@Cannavaro69 1st half City Lyon 0-2, i like your spirit, keep on guessing
Fekir 2 goals. 1-4
I like 3-1 prediction. I think the sams
Will Aguero play?
Man City have to win this as Lyon will make it tough in the 2nd leg in France . If Lyon can nick a goal or two , the 2nd leg will be very interesting
@footballover Wake up. stop taking drugs
@footballover Dude, it's the group stage. Even if Man City lose home and away to Lyon, but win 4 other matches, 12pts would be enough to progres to knock out stage.
