Team News

Blackpool
Arsenal
  • Jordan Thompson completes a three-match ban this weekend and will miss the welcome of Arsenal.
  • Max Clayton, Mark Cullen and Jimmy Ryan are all sidelined for the League One side.
  • Expect a similar side to the one that played Arsenal in the EFL Cup earlier this season.
  • Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil were not training with the main group as late as Thursday and may not be available to feature against Blackpool.
  • Shkodran Mustafi came off injured against Fulham and will certainly not feature for the Gunners here, but Konstantinos Mavropanos was back in full training for the first time in five months.
  • Expect Unai Emery to call on a lot of youngsters for Arsenal's FA Cup third round trip to League One side Blackpool.

Prediction

  • This is the second meeting between the two sides this season following Arsenal's 2-1 win over Blackpool in the EFL Cup back in October.
  • This is the first time Blackpool have hosted Arsenal since 2011, when the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners. They are clear favourites to win here, too.
  • Blackpool are winless in their last four matches (D1, L3) and have failed to score in three of those games.
  • Arsenal have only won two of their last six but did bounce back from last weekend's 5-1 defeat to Liverpool with a 4-1 win over Fulham in midweek.
  • The Gunners haven't kept a clean sheet in any of their last six matches but should come progress to the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

  • Petr Legend Cech finally playing.

  • @MrNemobody Legends shouldn't be playing anymore ...

  • @neumi17 He's a Chelsea legend.

  • ARSENAL Cech , Lichtsteiner , Papastathopoulos , Koscielny , Kolasinac , Elneny , Maitland-Niles , Ramsey , Willock , Iwobi , Nketiah SUBS Lacazette , Torreira , Jenkinson , Martínez , Guendouzi , Medley , Saka

  • Blackpool have injuries including 2 key defenders and one midfielder.Arsenal playing a decent side and should win 3-0 or 4-0.

  • @nexus747 I'll be shocked if Arsenal do not win 3-1.

  • I am expecting Arsenal to score at least two goals.

  • Though I highly doubt the team will look anything like this, here is what I'd like to see (4-1-4-1): ILIEV, LICHTSTEINER, JENKINSON, PLEGUEZUELO, OSEI-TUTU, ELNENY, NKETIAH, WILLOCK, SMITH-ROWE, SAKA, LACAZETTE. As far as I know, none of those players are injured. I would actually promote Deyan to the role of 2nd choice GK. He is considerably better with his feet than Cech or Martinez and a good shot stopper. The defence is clearly a 'make-do' back 4, I just don't want to see Sokratis or Kolasinac anywhere near the lineup in case they are injured. Koscielny won't play plus Mustafi, Bellerin & Monreal are injured. Dinos Mavropanos has just started full training so it would be a risk to put him in after so long out. The front 6 should be easy enough to pick, though I can't rule out Ramsey being given a start. Lacazette to hopefully start but only play the 1st half with Nketiah moving into the #9 position and Iwobi coming on to play RW in the 2nd. 3-0 Arsenal if that is the team.

  • @SteveHyland good lineup to prevent more injuries, just if bellerin can play hope he'll have some minutes to be fit for the next EPL game against hummers

  • @SteveHyland They lose if use team like this

  • @SteveHyland me too my friend ...im from iran arsenal 3-0 win
