Team News

Bournemouth
West Ham
  • Simon Francis, Lloyd Kelly and Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld all marked their return from injury in the midweek defeat to Burton Albion, though the former suffered hamstring discomfort during the loss and is not expected to feature here.
  • Eddie Howe will still be without five players through injury, though only David Brooks would have been considered for a start out of those currently sidelined.
  • Lewis Cook started the 2-0 defeat to Burton on Wednesday and is unlikely to keep his place, with Jefferson Lerma preferred.
  • Joshua King will have to settle for a place out wide if Dominic Solanke gets another chance in attack. Solanke hasn't scored in 16 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth.
  • West Ham are only missing Winston Reid and Michail Antonio ahead of Saturday's trip to Bournemouth.
  • West Ham's fringe players blew their opportunity to force their way into the first-team reckoning in midweek after a 4-0 defeat to Oxford.
  • Expect Manuel Pellegrini to name the same starting XI that defeated Manchester United last weekend.
  • Manuel Lanzini has missed West Ham's last two matches with a foot injury but will take Pablo Fornal's place in midfield here if he recovers in time.

Prediction

  • Both teams are coming off Carabao Cup upsets. Bournemouth were knocked out by lower league Burton, in a match that had 28 minutes of time added on due to three power cuts at the Pirelli Stadium, while West Ham were humiliated 4-0 away to Oxford United.
  • West Ham were unbeaten in six matches prior to Wednesday's trip to Oxford and Manuel Pellegrini will hope their midweek display was just a blip. Eddie Howe will also hope his side rediscover the form they have showed in their last two Premier League matches after recording successive 3-1 wins over Southampton and Everton.
  • Bournemouth did a league double over West Ham last season and are unbeaten in the last five encounters between the two sides. The Cherries have only won three Premier League games in a row in the same season on two previous occasions, both of which came during their maiden top-flight spell in 2015/16.
