Team News

Leicester
Chelsea
  • Wilfried Ndidi's return to fitness is a boost for Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, who remains without Daniel Amartey and Nampalys Mendy.
  • Matty James is closing in on a return to fitness, but is unlikely to be fit to start here.
  • Jamie Vardy is expected to lead the line after coming on against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, while Dennis Praet, who was an unused sub at Villa Park, is set to get the nod ahead of Youri Tielemans.
  • Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Olivier Giroud, the latter of whom has been linked with a move away this month, will all be assessed.
  • However, Frank Lampard is unable to call upon injured trio Marco van Ginkel, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
  • After a man of the match performance at Hull, Fikayo Tomori may get the nod to start alongside Antonio Rudiger at the heart of the Chelsea defence.

Prediction

  • After a fine run of form moved them to second in the Premier League, Leicester have now won just three of their last eight top-flight matches. A 4-1 win over West Ham last week ended a three-match home winless run and Brendan Rodgers will need to pick his players up after last-minute heartache in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
  • Chelsea secured their spot in the next round of the FA Cup at Hull's expense last weekend and they have had more time to prepare for their trip to Leicester. Two league wins from their last six on the road is far from ideal, however, and with the Premier League's top scorer back fit, they could struggle to put three points on board here.
  • Fans could be in for an entertaining encounter at the King Power Stadium and one that Leicester could edge.
