Team News

AZ Alkmaar
Man Utd
  • Albert Gudmundsson will miss out for AZ Alkmaar after lasting just 28 minutes of their 2-0 win over Heracles at the weekend.
  • Jonas Svensson is suspended for the home side after he was sent off in their Europa League opener. He will likely be replaced at right-back by Yukinari Sugawara.
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will ring the changes from Monday's 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal, with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata, Fred, Sergio Romero and Nemanja Matic expected in the starting XI.
  • Manchester United have confirmed Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes are both back in the squad following a stint out injured and both have a chance of starting against AZ Alkmaar.
  • Luke Shaw returned to training last week but hasn't travelled with the United squad, while Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are still sidelined.
  • Phil Jones has also been ruled out by Solskjaer, which could see Marcos Rojo start at centre-back and 19-year-old Brandon Williams make his full United debut at left-back after a cameo off the bench against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup.
  • Paul Pogba has been ruled out until after the international break after failing to shake off a persistent ankle injury.

Prediction

  • AZ Alkmaar drew 2-2 away to Partizan Belgrade in their first Europa League group game of the season. They have won three on the bounce since then and haven't conceded a goal in that time.
  • Manchester United struggled to a 1-0 win at home to Astana in their Europa League opener and only managed a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal on Monday.
  • United have only scored more than once in three of their last 21 matches in all competitions and are without a win away from home in their last nine.
  • AZ Alkmaar are unbeaten in seven home games this season and have kept clean sheets in five of those outings. They have a real opportunity to upset a poor United side.

  • @nexus747 keep whining, couldn't even get a shot on target against a wifi password team

  • @nexus747 Maybe Ole should focus on getting his team a decent result for once instead of picking a fight with the pitch.

  • @nexus747 We live in 2019, we have robots on Mars, took pictures of a black hole but somehow still can't make good artificial turf.

  • @nexus747 Whine

  • @Fromhell that will be Oles excuse if they do not win :)

  • 2-0 home win, United without Pogboom is awful

  • Marcus Rashford has scored just ONE GOAL from open play in his last 16 Man United matches.
