Team News

Celtic
Livingston
  • Celtic may have recorded a resounding 5-0 victory over Ross County last weekend but Neil Lennon still felt it necessary to make four changes for the visit to Paisley in the Hoops' 2-1 victory over St Mirren in midweek.
  • Hatem Elhamed came in as one of the defensive trio alongside Kristoffer Ajer and Irish international Shane Duffy, who grabbed his second goal in as many games to draw Celtic level on the night before James Forrest's winner.
  • Greg Taylor and Ryan Christie came into the five man midfield with Patryk Klimala, making his first start of the season, partnering Odsonne Edouard. Out dropped Christopher Jullien, Jeremie Frimpong, Olivier Ntcham and Albian Ajeti, despite scoring at the weekend.
  • Gary Holt made just the one change as Livingston threw a goal lead away to lose at home to Hamilton in their 2-1 defeat at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Jason Holt came into the midfield in the absence of Craig Sibbald.
  • Former Hamilton midfielder Scott Pittman gave the hosts the lead against his former club with less than a minute gone following some great work between recent signings Julian Serrano and more so, Lars Lokotsch.
  • The German should keep his place up front with the Lions having seen a few forwards leave the club in recent weeks. Most notably, former Hibs and Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has left without even playing a single minute for Livi.

Prediction

  • Celtic could go top of the table, albeit for potentially an evening or so, if they get the better of lowly Livingston on Saturday.
  • Neil Lennon's side have won their last four consecutive league games, scoring 11 in the process and having conceded just the once, coincidentally in their last match. The change of formation proved extremely beneficial up in Dingwall but despite claiming the victory against St Mirren, the overall performance didn't look as convincing as at the weekend.
  • On the other hand however, Livingston had a weekend to forget having passed up a great opportunity to grab back-to-back league victories in their home defeat to Hamilton. It's been a stuttering start for last season's surprise package who have only claimed the one win so far in the current campaign. Ultimately, their season won't be defined in fixtures away to the Old Firm.
  • It's tricky to put your finger on why Celtic just snuck past St Mirren in midweek but against a lacklustre Livi, this could be a great chance to see their goal difference increased somewhat significantly.
