Team News

West Ham
Arsenal
  • West Ham are boosted by Jesse Lingard's return after he missed the defeat to parent club Manchester United last weekend. Fresh off the back of his England return, Lingard will be full of confidence here.
  • Pablo Fornals was also sorely missed against United but his availability is still uncertain as he recovers from a muscle injury. Manuel Lanzini could get a rare start if Fornals fails to recover in time as Moyes is clearly still undecided on Said Benrahma.
  • Look for West Ham to return to a back four on Sunday as the three-man defence simply didn't work against United last time out and was binned at half-time.
  • Willian is unlikely to feature after missing out against Olympiacos on Thursday with a calf injury.
  • Bukayo Saka was also absent on Thursday as he nurses a muscle injury but the fact he has been called up by England suggests he could make the squad here.
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was benched for last weekend's North London Derby for a breach of discipline but returned to the starting XI on Thursday.
  • It's unclear if he will start here, as Alexandre Lacazette has played a direct hand in five of his last six starts for Arsenal and was rested in midweek.
  • Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares are in competition at right-back for the home side, while Mikel Arteta seems happy to rotate between all four of his centre-backs.

Prediction

  • West Ham are three points off fourth, albeit with a game in hand over Chelsea. Nevertheless, they need to get back to winning ways to stay on track for European football after last weekend's disappointing performance against Manchester United. They have only won two of their last 27 matches against Arsenal.
  • The Gunners lost 1-0 at home to Olympiacos on Thursday but the result was good enough to see them through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. They have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 matches in all competitions.

  • With 4231, Auba and laca cannot coexist.

  • Own goal MoTM.

  • Am I the only one who's absolutely amazed by the BRILLIANCE of Odegaard?

  • @ChrisNeverMiss - The kid has been a star since he was 15. Signing for Real was the worst thing that he could've done to his career.

  • Two own goals

  • West ham have collapsed.

  • wtf is this..probably fixed match ffs...how is this possible...just hope it stays 3-3, arsenal must not win! it would not be fair!

  • Craig Dawson with another own goal.

  • West ham are giving Moyes a much bigger contract next week. They are on fire this season and have a good chance of european football.

  • Bravo Lingaaaaard

  • 2-0 for arsenal

  • West Ham - Arsenal 1:1(1:1)

  • Having watched Arsenal last night - nothing to fear for WHU.

  • @eastend1 so we can say ARSENAL WIN?

  • @MasterJose you can - we can’t

  • Lingard might score

  • 1-1

  • West ham win. Goal from an Arsenal defensive error or cross. Soucek and Rice could be key to the win.

  • @Overmars wouldn't be surprised at an Arsenal error

  • This one is too easy to call. Game scenario - Arsenal to dominate possession, attack all game and score 1-2 goals, potentially after a through ball. They are quite good at the moment and have many in-form players in attack, will be motivated following the derby win, so will be able to convert their advantage into goals. West Ham to score from a fast break, a set piece or as a result of a cross from the wing, or individual error from Arsenal. BTTS and away team not to lose probably.
