Team News

Sevilla
Borussia Dortmund
  • Julen Lopetegui is sweating on the fitness of no fewer than four players for Wednesday's welcome of Borussia Dortmund.
  • Jesus Navas, Marcos Acuna, Lucas Ocampos and Oscar Rodriguez will all be assessed.
  • Aleix Vidal and Sergio Escudero may deputise at right and left-back, respectively, while Papu Gomez, following a strong start to life with Sevilla, is set to deputise for compatriot Ocampos.
  • With number one Roman Burki absent, Marwin Hitz is expected to start between the sticks.
  • Interim boss Edin Terzic has Thomas Meunier available after the Belgian was fit enough to travel to Spain and he should return at right-back.
  • Dan-Axel Zagadou is also ruled out for the Bundesliga outfit, as is central midfielder Axel Witsel, but Thomas Delaney has travelled separately following the birth of his child and should feature.

Prediction

  • Sevilla have been in stunning form in recent weeks, winning their last nine matches, and will be confident of extending that run on Wednesday night. The LaLiga side haven't failed to win a home game in 2021 and won't fear an out of sorts Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
  • The Bundesliga side have been underwhelming of late, winning just two of their last seven, one of which came against lower league opposition Paderborn in the DFB-Pokal. Edin Terzic has overseen three successive away league defeats, and that doesn't bode well for a daunting trip to Seville.
  • Given Sevilla's excellent performances in recent weeks, the home side should earn a huge first leg win, but given Borussia Dortmund's firepower, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them return to Germany with a lifeline.

  • Haaland > Messi

  • @Fromhell , Haaland >> Ronaldo

  • And idk not sure but it should probably be a penalty for DeJong last min, could have been a dangerous attempt but the defender made him fall.

  • @TetouanMorocco wtf u doin here

  • 2nd half is how we expected the whole game to be, full domination from Sevilla; possession and organization but it was too late, they still have a chance away, and we know home or away means nothing nowadays since the stadiums r empty, great game this was ngl haha

  • @TetouanMorocco Yeah, Sevilla had possession and organization but they still didn`t play well. In general the spanish football looks a bit dated in 2021.

  • @neumi17 well that's how they play and that's how we know them, dominate and score, dominate and score another, finish 2-0 haha all while keeping possession, that was totally not the same Sevilla in 1st 1/2, but we should also give credit to Dortmund and Haaland, and yes Spain kinda lost its brightness but specially cz they lost there stars .

  • Change Haaland with Nesyri and Sevilla would win 3:1.

  • @Pastore10 Change Kounde with Can and Dortmund would win 3:1

  • @Pastore10 Well obviously. Most of these top teams have 1 or 2 brilliant players who win it for them. Case in point - Ronaldo at Real Madrid (look at how far Real Madrid have fallen since he left) and Messi at Barcelona (look at how badly they do when Messi doesn't score).

  • Second half draw

  • There is a score that I definitely did not expect in the first half of the game. It's amazing to score 3 goals in the first half against Sevilla. Haaland is indeed a terminator. Despite his huge size, it is incredibly fast and technical.

  • LoL, some wrong predictions here today, including mine ...

  • @neumi17 Haha man its totally normal, even whoscored predicted 3-1 i just noticed that xD

  • @neumi17 Haha man its totally normal, even whoscored predicted 3-1 i just noticed that xD

  • Haaland >>>>> Mbappe. Enough with hyped up romantics who though Mbappe is best thing since sliced bread. He is good, very good. But Haaland is doing it in far worse side (bvb) in better league (buli) against most in form La Liga side. Haaland has 22 CL goals in 19 CL games only. He is THE ultimate future footballer. But Mbappe is close next best.

  • In their previous 7 games Sevilla had 15-0 goals! Now 1-3... much better than could be expected from Dortmund in their current form.

  • Yesterday Mbappe, Today Haaland.

  • @TetouanMorocco Didn't expect Dortmund to be this strong, they are pressing like crazy

  • @Youzarix true my friend, they have a great squad and played to attack 100%, and it worked, and Sevilla definitly didn't play with there usual style or systeme, aka possession and being calm and start the game from the back, they all seemed in a rush it wasn't the same organized Sevilla that ik, and Dortmund(or Haaland) punished them for that, specially the two first goal, after they finally settled , they conceded the 3rd, it was simply Haaland night

  • Damn, great goal Dahoud, idk how Haaland got out from that situation that was the key of the goal

  • lol at that Borussia midfield, they all combined have like 4 assists this season

  • Sevilla!!!! Vamos!!!

  • Dortmund will win! FADE everyone!

  • Vamos Sevilla deberías ganar!! Based on there forms, it should be a 2-0 here.

  • Sevilla is in great shape. Although Dortmund is a very good team, I think they have no chance in this game. Sevilla wins.

  • 1-3

  • I see a battering here. Sevilla 4-0 BvB

  • 3-0, 3-1

  • @neumi17 hello..

  • @nithinbvb Hi

  • @neumi17 that was an awful tactics by terizic in second half.

  • @nithinbvb Yes it was but Dortmund is incapable to deliver 2good hals in general.

  • @neumi17 *2 good halfs

  • Kounde is one of the best and most underrated centre back, but not much hype cause he is only 178 cm, he and Cristian Romero from Atalanta are beasts.

  • @Pastore10 Man Utd willing to offer 70 Mil Euros (with Real & PSG also on the radar) doesn't sound like underrated.

  • @Pastore10 yess veery, the difference is that he's solid as a defender but also technicall, skillful and calm with the ball like a midfeilder or rb, and @pyt55 He's underrated from the fanbase of football many underrates him 'cz they never saw him play i beleive simple as that', not the smart clubs and there scouts they dont care about fame, they noticed his obvious quality too.

  • 3:1 SEVILLA

  • He is captain and very important guy in squad

  • Jesus Navas is back for Sevilla it has been reported now in Spanish media.

  • Same as Juventus v Sevilla game, Dortmund will hope for a draw and take the win at the home game

  • @Socball BVB do not know how to defend deep, they are a possession team. Also, home advantage is no longer an option when you're playing on empty stadiums, so it's a suicide to wait for the return leg. By the way, in the Bundesliga they only won 50% of their home matches this season (W5 D2 L3), which is a terrible record for them...

  • Sorry Juventus v Porto, not Sevilla

  • Sevilla 2-1 Win

  • Over 2.5 Match Goals

  • I expect a big demonstration from Sevilla here 3-0

  • Witsel isn't even in the squad that Dortmund announced for this game.

  • @Maximus1992 Same for Hazard & Delaney

  • @Saveaj guys where u take a information about ghe squads from?

  • @Tasev Twitter

  • dortmund are having issues.

  • easy W for Sevilla here

  • @stefanm e a s y
