Team News

Real Madrid
Atalanta
  • Real Madrid's injury issues have eased of late, with both Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard returning to action against Elche at the weekend, though the latter is again sidelined.
  • Mariano and Dani Carvajal both miss the return leg, while Casemiro's booking in Italy means he is suspended.
  • Federico Valverde is set to deputise in the middle of the park, but Hazard may start from the bench in midweek.
  • Berat Djimsiti is a doubt having been forced off early on the second half of Atalanta's 3-1 win over Spezia, which should see Jose Luis Palomino start here.
  • Remo Freuler is suspended after his red card in the first leg, and that may result in Matteo Pessina partnering Marten de Roon in the middle of the park.
  • Duvan Zapata is available after featuring from the bench on Saturday, but Hans Hateboer and Bosko Sutalo are absent.

Prediction

  • Real Madrid huffed and puffed and were eventually rewarded with a first leg 1-0 win over 10-man Atalanta last week after Ferland Mendy netted the winner with four minutes to go. Following a four-match clean sheet run, Los Blancos need to be wary of conceding against the Italian outfit here having shipped in each of their last three.
  • Atalanta have it all to do in Spain and the absence of Remo Freuler doesn't aid their cause. They can at least call upon their solid away record this term, with a 1-0 loss at Inter last time out just their second defeat on the road in 2020/21.
  • Real Madrid have needed late goals to secure a positive result in their last four matches and this never-say-die attitude should help the LaLiga side into the next round of the Champions League.

  • Madrid needs to win for Spain. For Spanish dignity. Hala Madrid

  • Great win by Real madrid ! Absoloutely dominant tonight! Uefalona fans can only continue crying hahahah !! #halamadrid

  • @stefanm Come on. It is Atalanta. What on earth make you think Madrid won't win?

  • @stefanm fans of me?

  • @uefalona hahahaha

  • @uefalona no. fans of uefalona.((((

  • @uefalona hahahahaha

  • Grande luka! The veterans bail us out as usual. The kids gotta step now. Vamos, hala madrid! :)

  • Real Madrid = Win Win Win. And that's exactly what happened today. To all those who said "Atalanta will kill us" RIP

  • vini just can't finish

  • @NuchalLine he had great game tonight

  • @NuchalLine one of the worst decision makers ever.

  • @Pastore10 I see no difference in that guy n dembele

  • @Ayololuwa some glasses would help but let me give you the gist: Dembele is a better dribbler and one of the fastest footballers on the planet.

  • What a gift hahahahahaha

  • @Elluso250 should be 2-0 up

  • gooool madrid

  • Atalanta will destroy Zidan luck

  • @JotaroDio we at Madrid love our little haters. We use your tears to season our salads.

  • Hala madrid

  • Interesting game

  • 3-1 Atalanta. Muriel with a brace

  • @MacGoreth I meant 3-1 Madrid, freaking auto type

  • Btts and 1X.

  • 1-2

  • 1-1

  • Well Madridistas will predict a Madrid win, haters will predict Madrid loss, while neutrals will predict a draw haha simply cz Atalanta isn't an easy team they r actually dangerous ppl underastimate them brutally, Madrid also r struggling to score and so, they r now equal in strength, for me it's either a 1-1 or a tough 2-1 for Madrid (Benz and Case to score)

  • @TetouanMorocco Have you watched the last game? Atalanta played with 10 for 3/4 of the game and Real were lucky to get a 0:1 at the end even though Atalanta can't defend. Also if most observers in general feel Atalanta was robbed with the red, imagine how they will feel. Ajax replay from 2 years ago loading

  • @alx30 yeah the red was undeserved ngl, it wasn't dangerous and Mendy was going to the corner, but the red happened u cant change it, mistakes still happens i don't remember watching a football game lately without witnessibg atleast one mistake from the refs

  • @TetouanMorocco Well, the big difference is that these "mistakes" never happen against VAReal Madrid, especially if they're playing against "smaller" (as in, way less rich) teams. Surprised me Real fans (and management) crying about penalties against Atlético, but they only won LaLiga last year with LOTS of BS penalties in their favor. Anyways, it will be good to see them smoked this year again by the likes of a Manchester City, for example. Incredible how nowadays Real without Benzama = nothing.

  • @TetouanMorocco My buddy and I are discussing the exact same score line scenarios. I am leaning towards the draw. But with Ramos coming back, how confident are you that Atalanta scores even with a full 11 on the field?

  • @mookie_bombs Not sooo confident bu if there is something that specialize Atalanta is there great attack, that's why I predicted atleast 1goal despite how solid Madrid's defense and not more.

  • Madrid will crush Atalanta

  • @NuchalLine Real cant crush weak Elche or 10 men Atalanta, wake up

  • @Pastore10 You're the one who needs to wake up, this is Madrid's favorite competition

  • @Elluso250 With VAR hardly, only without it but with countless refereeing favouritism yes, but these times are finally over

  • Atalanta to score in the first half

  • Latest news Hazard ankle surgery, off till very long.

  • @Pastore10 thank god for that. biggest waste of space ever. madrid should offload him at the earliest available opportunity.

  • here we go again, every year the same thing, now the BasketCase Fans gonna go around getting into bed the with fans of every team that get drawn against HALA Madrid.

  • Under 1,5 in first half @ 1,6/1

  • i want Atalanta to progress but i don't think UEFA will allow this. The first match everyone see how the referee kill the game with a joke of a red card.

  • @mor7al lol keep crying

  • atalanta will go through

  • I would be shocked if atalanta dont win 2-1.

  • 0_2 Atalanta

  • 3-1 for Atalanta

  • 3-0 is my prediction

  • Hazard probably going to operate ankle again , Marca reports now on cover page they think his bad right ankle is causing all these muscle injuries

  • hazard is a sucha clown

  • 3-1

  • Oh my god Hazard

  • Eden is again not training with the team.... This guy is the worst transfer since Kaka in Real Madrid...Even worse than Kaka....

  • @stefanm Kaka was a magician! Unfortunately not his whole career...

  • @stefanm Kaka was not bad, he was like a modric kroos type of a player, we just wanted him to be top like Cr which dissapointed us, the comparaison was unfair and Ozil was on his prime, but in general Kaka was good, while hazard..

  • @TetouanMorocco - Kaka was exactly the same situation as Hazard is. A world class attacking midfielder at his old club, transferred for a huge amount of money, ruined by injuries in Madrid, could barely get on the field for Real.

  • 1x guaranteed

  • 3-2

  • this gives me hope with benz back

  • 2-1 win for Atalanta Duvan Zapata to blast UEFAdrid out of the UCL and ensure a trophyless season for them...Although I hope UEFAdrid makes it to the quarter to meet Bayern... Then we are in for the greatest humiliation in history of football.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 8:2 xD

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 I am laughing at you in Spanish

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Man you're probably drowning in tears after elimination from psg

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Real defense is much better than Barca's, so would be hardly a humiliation, but their attack is laughable weak, midfield is legendary but old and washed up.

  • @Pastore10 if valencia can score 4 imagine what a Bayern team fueled by vengeance can do..

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 it was only thanks to imaginary penalties....we destroyed valencia in madrid recently...

  • 1:2 for Atalanta or referees will cheat it again?

  • 2-1 atalanta madrid to join barca an juve
