Team News

Real Madrid
Granada
  • Real Madrid will remain without Ferland Mendy, who will be out for at least a couple of weeks, while key winger Vinicius Junior is suspended due to reaching the yellow card limit.
  • Karim Benzema reportedly has a muscle injury that will keep him out for a couple of weeks.
  • Eden Hazard could be called upon with Rodrygo likely a little tired after returning from internationals and playing as soon as Thursday.
  • Nedyer Lozano and Santi Arias both remain out.
  • Alex Collado is likely to start on the right after his loan move from Barcelona early in January.
  • Victor Diaz could edge Quini at right-back.

Prediction

  • Real Madrid have endured a dip in form of late, losing in the Copa del Rey during the week. Without Karim Benzema, Los Blancos struggled to create and paid the price, losing 1-0 to Athletic Club following an 89th-minute winner. That followed a draw with Elche in La Liga, and they also needed extra-time to defeat Alicante days earlier in the Copa del Rey.
  • Madrid are fortunate to still have a four-point gap at the top following successive slip-ups from Sevilla, and Carlo Ancelotti's men will be determined to return to winning ways here.
  • Granada head to the capital on the back of a disappointing performance and defeat against Osasuna. That loss made it back-to-back defeats for the Andalusians following a loss to Getafe. In fact, Granada are now four games without a win, but that does include two draws against Barcelona and Elche, respectively.
  • With Vinicius Junior and Benzema unavailable for Madrid this weekend, they may well have to dig deep for three points.
