Villarreal

Liverpool
- Unai Emery has confirmed Gerard Moreno will return from injury to face Liverpool on Tuesday night in a massive boost.
- Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Unai Emery needs his Villarreal side to show more attacking intent on Tuesday so some changes are expected.
- Ex-Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno is sidelined once again, while there are doubts over Yeremi Pino and Francis Coquelin.
- Paco Alcacer has barely featured for Villarreal this season but is an option in attack if Moreno fails to recover in time.
- Mo Salah, Thiago, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho will return to the starting XI to face Villarreal after dropping to the bench against Newcastle at the weekend.
- Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are in competition to complete Liverpool's midfield, while Ibrahima Konate will hope to come back in at Joel Matip's expense.
- Divock Origi trained ahead of the second leg after missing the win over Newcastle on Saturday through illness.
Why did Rulli get two "errors leading to goal"? That usually means giving the ball away to the opponent. When did he do that?
@andrew7taylor The first goal he concede through the legs was deemed in error. Personally, I think he looked bad there, but it was not really a big error, just unfortunate, like all of the second half, from Villareals perspective.
@sailorripley second goal he conceded also was between the legs, but the distance was way shorter than in first one, probably that's why he doesn't have 3 E's for this match.
why they changed the taclings of thiago from 2 to 1???
@Playaburak19 Why is that important ?
@neumi17 because i bet over 1,5 taclings win was 1,5k and they changed it :DDDD
Pool, 3-2. W. Game. Keep crying bitttttchesss
Villareal - Liverpool second leg stats Shots: 5 - 15 On target: 2 - 5 Possession: 44% - 56% Final score: 2-5 on aggregate. We can all agree that Liverpool fully deserved to go to the final, despite Villareal having ONE amazing half. Rulli was poor, but not the main factor why Villareal succumbed to Liverpool's dominance.
@Big_Boss PSG was much better in 135 of 180 Minutes vs Real yet nobody talks about that anymore ...
@neumi17 PSG and Madrid are not relevant here. Liverpool is a different beast: different system of play, different strengths and more importantly: a stronger mentality.
I feel sorry for Rulli he's a good keeper, and had a great championship overall....until today.
@dib Actually he has had many bad games before. For instance vs Levante, Osasuna, Juve, Elche, Atletico Madrid, Deportivo Alaves, ManU, Celta Viga, Valencia, ...
Salah's rating should be lower than a neanderthal.
@Yman hardly touched the ball, how did it work out to 7.4
@Yman so true
Superb results
Salah is so fkn bad, omg, half of the year he is trash. I hope they sell him, for real. Very unreliable forward/winger
@dzvinka top goal scorer and assister in both competitions. And he does it season after season. Bake in your envy.
@dzvinka He’s not bad, just very fatigued. Still managed an assist
Salah GTFO, Diaz is the next superstar with Mane.
@Yman top goal scorer and assister in both competitions. And he does it season after season. Bake in your envy.
Depressing how Rulli ruined a perfect game by Villareal so badly ...
@neumi17 My thought were, he did terrible mistakes but goles from Liverpool were obvious of how they turned up for second half, and how much slower Villareal was in second half... they simply have no fitness to match EPL team for 90 minutes. In modern football you need to be an athlete first of all, not an actor, like most LaLiga teams are nowadays. Liverpool started to play much wider and abuse their speed and stamina advantage and Villareal was about to crack anyways, so don't put all dogs on Rulli, but yeah, his mistakes were terrible.
@neumi17 He really did, such a turnover that was
Stupid spanish players started to kick liver players like donkeys.
Liverpool sect members probably won't take notice that they can thank the game to Rulli's enormous mistakes! LOL P.S. What losers both of these teams are! And when I listened to the British commentators it was like listening to the Chinese Communist Party - they view everything in such a biased way that their comments are completely divorced from reality!
@Zoltan Without Rulli errors it’s still only 2-1 on the night at best and Liverpool still go through
Zoltan and Wishy are both stupid
Klopp has worriers, not players.
If you were worried after the first half you've not been following Liverpool.
liverpool first give them a boost, then crush their self-esteem. Genius.
@UnexpectedManUFan How is that genius? it won't hurt if you give credits to Villarreal for that first half performance, you make it sound like Liverpool deliberately let them score
Lol lol... Lol.. Lol
Klopp is a sneaky basterd, he gave the 1st half as a bit to fatigue his opponent's stamina.
sub Trent for Gomes now, he is not a defender, Gomes is! Do it old fart, sub now!
*Fans:* Liverpool you suck! *Liverpool:* Hold my beer xD
Genius Klopp gave the stupid spaniards the 1st half as a bait to fatigue their stamina.
@Yman Are you a product of incest by any chance?
@Yman This is one the dumbest takes i've ever heard here
@Youzarix Not when you have a Klopp in your team, the manifest is the small spanish team didn't have any chance whatsoever in the 2nd half.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha 3-2, what a stupid spanish team
Stupid spanish team that no one knows its name, Ouuut
Hahahahaha take it up your a** stupid spanish team.
2 more subs at the 60 minute mark and there would be 1 more goal on either side!
It's much better commenting this stupid game then watching it! LOL
Villarreal won’t qualify trust me
Liverpool so terrible ...
and he subs Jota and keeps Mane and Salah, what an old fart, he is too kind and gives to much for those two for granted.
@dzvinka Was jota even playing? At least Salah had one chance which was called offside mistakenly!
There you go! What did I tell you guys earlier? A timid, tentative Liverpool, ready to be taken advantage of a not even so sharp Villareal. If Villareal would have been more assertive, the qualification would be over already. Now what do you bet live on this game if you haven't done so already? Well, Klopp needs to show courage and the way to read this is through making changes right at the beginning of the 2nd half. That's because the front three of Liverpool has been totally unnoticeable. Klopp needs to bring in at least 3 changes to shake up his apathetic team right away: Luis Diaz, Divock Origi, and Minamino all must come in right away. Otherwise it's up to Villareal to score further goals, so an over 3.5 bet now would be at their mercy. But Villareal hasn't played in such an overpowering fashion that they would go for the final kill. I still would, but Emery is cut from a different cloth: he would stand back and test Liverpool's attacking prowess, nonexistent thus far.
@Zoltan 'Timid, tentative and courage'. I understand that English isn't your first language, but you you didn't describe the first half accurately. Villareal were sharper, Liverpool was pinned down and sloppy. This is comfortably the worst first half of Liverpool and like so often, the second half would provide a much better performance like we have seen so far.
@Big_Boss Try to learn to read first accurately mate and then critize! No one said courage and timid, tentative in the same sentence. Perhaps you could become a biased commentator of the British Communist Broadcasting system; you would fit in very nicely! LOL P.S. By the way, how come didn't you guys adopt Communism? You are such a receptive nation to such garbage! :)))) Instead, you guys sent it on us with your stupid banksters!
@Zoltan You literally wrote and insinuated how Liverpool plays in your eyes. The fact that it wasn't in one sentence is not relevant. And I put you in your place by correcting you with precise knowledge that is gained from actually watching and studying the games. I won't be dragged to your level by engaging in off topic drivel about communism.
Liverpool get battered everywhere they gooo
Diaz and Henderson to sub in the 2nd half.
I would sell Mane and Salah right in the half time of this match, and gave some good whipping to Trent
@dzvinka whipping to Andy Robertson as well LOL
Different beast Liverpool choking against a mid table Spanish team, quadruple my S.
Liverpool is trash. No one had them. Over easy
@Oversonly Liverpool is brilliant. Which is why it's so fun to see them lose!
It would be funny if Liverpool get beaten by a team nicknamed after a Beatles song
@Lulzovich even better if the winner came from Gerard
Please Villareal, you can do it.
Andy Robertson and T.A. Arnold are in bad form and so are the front three of Liverpool. This can prove lethal against an attacking minded Villareal who will outscore them easily. The question is: how gutsy will Villareal be? I think they will be brave and when they are, they can play very well!
1X & under 2.5 goals @3.6
Imagine trying to assess the form of Villareal.... I think Emery was hoping to hold Liverpool to 1-0 at Anfield and make a comeback here its a strategy we've seen the entire tournament with the awaygoal rule being banished. Villareal will try to be explosive and catch Liverpool off guard sort of like they did. Against Bayern. I still think Klopp has a solid back line with great veteran leadership in the midfield as well. Villareal should score but I don't see them overcoming the deficit.
Let's see.... Premierships teams are not exactly famous for their bravery, right? So Liverpool will defend at first. The question is will they try to counterattack? If they will, we are into a high scoring game. If they will not, they will be eliminated!
@Zoltan Surely you're trolling. Both Man City and Liverpool play with a high line and inverted wingacks while NOT employing 3 CB's. It's a high risk, high reward kind of playstyle since the fullback lanes and space behind the CB's are exposed. Liverpool will, like always, try to dictate the game.
@Big_Boss How exactly are Robertson and Trent inverted wing-backs? They literally play RB and LB. Are you on drugs or something?
@splint3r You just exposed your lack of knowledge of the game. I study the gameplan and that means looking at the positions of the players, which means the heatmaps. Since Liverpool is a possession based team with a highline, tight space between the defense/midfield/attack, they benefit from having the fullbacks higher up and only drop to the fullback position when they need to defend. It's a means to create an overload, create space to give pinpoint crosses and helps the counterpress. You said something about drugs? ...
@Zoltan What a shit assesment. Wow. You havent been watching liverpool at all i see. That is a team who will take control of the game from 1st minute. Not whatever non sense you got there
@Ashtris I can tell that you haven't seen enough of the world: this garbage that you see today has nothing to do with real football. Back in the days football was about winning the game, not controlling it. These retards have no clue how to shoot from a distance, how to drive down the ball the wings and pass it back for a shot from a distance, they cannot center a ball probable and they don't even have the guts to beat the opponent one on one down the wings. Basically every player is trying to avoid the responsibility what taking up the one on one situation means. And if you don't take responsibility, you will not score - it is as simple as that. And most fans have no clue about this because they don't play the game - they are just armchair fans, fanatics much resembling sect members. Just watch how the fans don't even watch the game at certain times of the game! What's more, they don't have a critical eye when watching the game - precisely how a sect member would warship the priest!
@Zoltan I mean you put effort. I thought you dumb troll. So ok you are saying "back in the day there was more 1v1" but it is not back in the day now. It is adapt to changing game to keep up with change of tactics. Matip has the best drible % in PL. Top 3 assist leaders in PL are liverpool. Top 5 goal scorers have 3 liverpool players. They play amazing football - no dirty fouls, no tricks to waste time, no vicious fouls - only football, progressive, attacking high tempo football 10/10. So why the hate to the specticle you are witnessing?
Liverpool to win 0-2 halftime
This is probably a walk away for Liverpool as the home side Villarreal is not in good form
I'm hearing heavy rain in this one.
Liverpool & BTTS @3.25 is very popular on our site!
@BetfatherTips I will tell you what: never trust a Premiership team!
Pool W
Away win with ease
@eastend1 lol
@Finucci well second half was…
@Finucci LOL Just look at my comments! God have mercy for all the Premiership lunatics! :)
@Zoltan And Liverpool will win plus red card to Villarreal lol. :D
@Finucci What you think red card on 85th minute took away villareal realistic chance to score 3 goals in 6-8 minutes?
@Ashtris Who said that? I just laughed at the situation.
Over 2.5 goals.
Remember 5-1 liverpool vs arsenal jurgen is emery kryptonite
0-2 liverpool
X2 & under 5 goals @1.40
yap!!goals will be 1-2
2-1
One yellow submarine vs, Mighty HMS Liverpool. What could go wrong for Royal Navy Battleship against one small pesky u-boat full of torpedoes in battle of their lives? Lets hope for Good Ebbening.
@Ewerfekt "..one small pesky u-boat full of torpedoes.." In the home game Liverpool had 19 shots, 5 on target. Villareal had one and zero on target. The xG was 1.5 vs 0.1 I don't expect Villareal to suddenly become a high chance creating/scoring side, despite facing elimination. Liverpools next game is against Spurs and could mean that they won't line up their strongest side. This could give Villareal a better chance to score.
X2 & BTTS
" Unfortunately for them, however, Liverpool are just a different beast." Isn't that favoritism? Also, choice of words isn't mature and neutral.
@NuchalLine thats not favoritism sure he could say it neutral but in the end hes speaking fax
@UnexpectedManUFan Maybe fax, but definitely not facts.
@NuchalLine lol predicting a winner is not favouritism you muppet, and what would be a neutral way of saying Liverpool are better, which they are?
@Biggie_Cheese The neutral way would have been "Liverpool have better players than Villarreal in most areas of the pitch and should be able to progress". If you aren't seeing how all English media are up Liverpool's a**, it's your problem.
@splint3r It’s not just that Liverpool are better player for player, the coaching is also better
@splint3r you have got to be the dumbest person on this site, and that's saying something.
Under 3.5 goals @1.44
@yourfootballtips.com Dude! Only 2 of your 5 bets came through yesterday = 40% prediction rate which is terrible! What's going on? LOL
Would love Villareal to come back and pull off a huge upset here but highly unlikely. Liverpool have been very good and very lucky, which often means success comes their way.
As a punter, I don't see any reason why this game would not produce 4 bookings. 1.66 is not a bad bet haha
@Asaba193 Liverpool plays very clear game. 13 yellows 0 reds in 11 apps of this year ECL. Their domestic league 46 yellows and 1 red in 34 apps. (3rd best discipline in league) Villarreal are also very clean 20 yellows and 1 red in 11 apps of ECL. LaLiga 69 yellows and 1 red (3rd best discipline in leauge). Not straight forward as it seems.
With Gerard Moreno back I do think Villarreal scoring is likely, but the scoreline for the match should be really 1-2, 3, 4 just pick a number greater than 1. This is the most determined Liverpool team I’ve ever seen, they always find a way
Under 2,5 goals, 0:0, 0:1, 1:1....
0-3
Villarreal can score now.
"Liverpool are just a different beast"... Another statement, which is objectively untrue. Different beast compared to whom?
@splint3r Man city whom they beat or draw. Thoughts?
@masterofwhisperers Liverpool are not a better team than Manchester City. City should have easily won the PL game, but Sterling was offside. As for the FA Cup game, City started it with mostly their second string because Guardiola didn't consider the FA Cup a priority. When some of their first team came on, they almost overturned the game in the second half. City have the best players, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the best team in the world. As for Liverpool, they aren't even a close second. Who can beat them besides City? Chelsea and Real Madrid for starters. As well as Leicester, West Ham and Inter, obviously.
@splint3r Liverpool have lost fewer games across all competitions this season than any of the other big boys
@splint3r compared to Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid like they said...
@Oversonly OK, they're better that Juventus and Bayern. I will give you that. Atletico Madrid, well, nobody really cares about them. But we will see whether they are better than Real Madrid if they meet in the final...
@splint3r a different beast compared to Villlareal, it's really not that hard to understand.
@splint3r any team currently in the world.
@splint3r ...compared to ordinary beast?
It’s delusional frankly to believe Villarreal has a comeback opportunity here. Liverpool don’t choke these days
@sarigginsUSA Liverpool didnt choke for too long and Villareal didnt have perfect game for too long. Its happening this ebbening
@sarigginsUSA yeah liverpool rested good players at newcastle so no comeback here
@sarigginsUSA - There absolutely lies a chance for Villarreal comeback, We do not need to go back years to look at some comebacks against Liverpool - Liv vs Atletico 2020 R16 is a best example where they were completely demolished by Atletico defence.
@sarigginsUSA Did you remember 12/13 first leg of semi final? /BvB 4-1 RM/ No one believed BvB knock out RM but they did. So anything is possible. :)
@kreizi No one really believed Liverpool would come back against Barca in 2019 or Roma against the same the year before etc etc of course there’s tons of unexpected comebacks, but I’m just saying that intuitively this just isn’t one of those times. Villarreal have done well to get this far and I respect them immensely for that, but the level of mismatching between these two is such that them losing 2-0 was a “good” result for them
@sarigginsUSA true winning the europa league last season and now in the semis... Too bad no comeback will happen
@UnexpectedManUFan A United fan using their own failure from last season to try to convince themselves of a Liverpool failure today. Not surprising, but you’ll see today why Liverpool are at least the second best team in the world right now
3-0
