Team News

Chelsea
Man Utd
  • Reece James, Ngolo Kante and Wesley Fofana remain on the sidelines and will definitely miss the Manchester United game.
  • Conor Gallagher came off in the first half with an illness and will probably make way for Mateo Kovacic in the starting XI for the United game.
  • Thiago Silva and Hakim Ziyech were unused substitutes against Brentford but the Brazilian should come back in to the side against Manchester United.
  • Christian Eriksen came off the bench against his former club Tottenham on Wednesday, but Bruno Fernandes put in an MOTM performance, so the Portuguese midfielder should start ahead of the Dane.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo was an unused substitute against Tottenham and walked off the pitch before the match finished. He has since been suspended by the club.

Prediction

  • Chelsea are unbeaten under Graham Potter but had a goalless draw against Brentford last time out. They have their first test to an inform Manchester United side who are unbeaten in five games in all competitions since their 6-3 derby defeat to Manchester City.
  • Chelsea and Manchester United have drawn in their last four meetings in the Premier League, with the last time either side won was Chelsea in the 2020 FA Cup Semi Finals. Manchester United are the most recent to have won in the Premier League though, winning 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in February 2020.
  • These two sides are perfectly matched and Saturday's encounter provides a good test for Graham Potter. We see it being another 1-1 draw, just as it was in both of last season's encounters.

  • To be honest Jorginho, who I dislike a lot, had a solid performance all game long.

  • McTomi pla like he throwing the game. What a clown

  • @gincka Among MU' imbecilles and freaks Scotty is a good man.

  • ETH wants too release Ronaldo in january on a free transfer. His poor form and huge wages make it hard to find a club for him.

  • @Marbella Source: Marbella'sAss. Meanwhile reality, Ten Hag said that he won't sign a new striker in January because he counts on Ronaldo while giving interview after this game. I wish he did, but it doesn't mean that we can create our own reality and make fake news.

  • @Byakuya bbc sport source

  • @Byakuya if he does leave, better go to psg lol

  • No Cristiano, no party! this is what you getfor benching your most important player, ETH you bald frauyd!

  • @GioMonaldo @GioMonaldo ronaldo should pay compentation fee.. he got paid to play, but he refused to play.. this is a breach of contract which MU should sue ronaldo in the court.. punishment drop for 1 game is not enought

  • @GioMonaldo Penaldo fanboy

  • @Socio4Life and proud of it!

  • actually Man Utd was better team, they are improving quite remarkably as the season goes on

  • Getting dominated home, diving for fun and Chelsea still can't get away with a victory. United needed a proper striker once again, could be an easy game.

  • @Byakuya If United had a clinical striker and weren't trying to walk it in at the beginning they'd have won this, Chelsea were toothless the entire game and relied on the penalty, but I'd say a draw is fair purely because United were not ruthless enough to score until the end. Also, on reflection, I didn't realise how quiet of a stadium Stamford Bridge actually is.. That's with United having LESS allocation of tickets by the Met Police. Quite funny really.

  • Utd celebrating in 94 minute with 2 mins to go for a draw rather than bringing back the ball to starting position is the mindset that cannot be changed.

  • Why do players grab opponents in the box ? It still a big question for me, If they cannot win a aerial duel they should not be in the box marking anyone. With VAR how do they even think can get away with it.

  • Pendu is not part of the game. WT F

  • @SagorSrkian he is on the bench... The bench in his kitchen

  • ManU is tactically more stable. This should give an advantage.

  • @Marcraft Ten Hag's tactics is laughable.

  • @a.a.epifanov laughable are you Epifania

  • @Marcraft which part is stable

  • should be a good game. 2-2

  • @koziol.mutant so wrong it hurts

  • @MAN0 not so much wrong, draw and both goal

  • @MAN0 this is why you should wait for the last whistle, before commenting on predictions..

  • Chelsea 2-1

  • X2

  • there is no way ManU gonna lose this. Chelsea without tuchel can't compete with ManU

  • 1-0

  • Bet W1

  • Chelsea 3-6-1 formation will win this match if Man U didn't change formation. Man U lineups too easy to predict compared to Chelsea. Man U right slide defend might be in big trouble against Chilwell & Sterling.

  • Potter is about to be 5th Chelsea manager who fail to beat United in PL in the last 5 years, consistency is the key.

  • @Byakuya you can cry now lol

  • @Alpha00 That's what you deserve for commenting early, cry me a river.

  • @Byakuya lol congrats on this trophy

  • ronaldo should go to qatar to get more playtime, maybe to al-duhail. if he want to play in champion league, i heard al-duhail is in asian champion league, that will be perfect for ronaldo..

  • @Tongko lol true

  • 5-0 for Chelsea easy one

  • @Alpha00 Whenever Chelsea play against United, you make comments like 5-0 or 6-0 and they all end up with 0-0 or 1-1. Even arguably the worst United in PL history didn't lose against Chelsea last year, keep up with your childish comments you clown.

  • @Byakuya who's the biggest clown here now ! lol

  • @Alpha00 The one who predicts 5-0 or the one who predicts 1-1? Answer is clear, you played yourself.

  • @Byakuya ok we'll see tomorrow

  • @Alpha00 ????????????????

  • It's a correct decision that Ronaldo has been suspended for leaving early but how correct it is to ask him coming on at 87th min? As a professional, he should play when asked surely and it's not up to him to question manager's decisions. Still, the same manager said that he didn't play Ronaldo at City game just because of respecting to his career history. Again, same manager didn't think about the same player scored most goals against Tottenham and wanted to use him only to waste time. Victory thanks to deflections for both goals and using only 3 subs when you have chance to score more goals against a struggling team, it could be a completely different story. If you're not going to use him when you need a striker, just release him.

  • @Byakuya With all said, Man U got 3 points without Ronaldo that’s all that’s important to manager and fans. No emotions. Ronaldo is 38 not 18, he has to realize that.

  • @Byakuya It's not a crime to ask Ronaldo coming on at 87th min, though it's a 'low blow' from ETH. If Ronaldo did come on, it will add to his personal match winning records. And, it's not ETH who won't sell him, it was the Glazers (financial reason). ETH is the best coach Man Utd have in the last decade, it would be better for Man Utd fan to back ETH.

  • @FootballFanatics That low blow is what I'm exactly talking about, he clearly said that Ronaldo is in his plans and looking forward to working with him. Yet what he said doesn't match up what he's doing right now, Ronaldo would be surely gone if he stated that Ronaldo is not type of individual he would work with. Because he would play for Sporting rather than sitting on the bench at United, this is pure disrespect against a club legend. United need a proper back-up striker, Ten Hag refuse to bring him on even when he need. Ronaldo said that he will stay at the end of last season but suddenly spent whole summer with rumors which he denied all, it was clear that United won't play in CL long ago so it was never about that. Ten Hag played some mind games for whatever the reason and he won, provoked Ronaldo lost his temper.

  • @Byakuya That low blow was still a nice thing compared to hair dryer treatment. ETH said 'Ronaldo is in my plans and looking forward to working with him'. But it doesn't mean ETH have to play Ronaldo, not after Ronaldo absence in pre season. And I think Ronaldo don't suit in his style of football. Do your search in any football stats website, Man Utd play better without Ronaldo in the line up. It's fact not opinion. Only Zidane (and maybe Ancelotti) can manage Ronaldo or set a team for Ronaldo. As a Man Utd fan, you have to support ETH, he is the best chance you have to win EPL and UECL.

  • @FootballFanatics Yes, it means that Ten Hag has to play Ronaldo. Because if you're not letting someone go just because you're planning to use him, then you can't make him sit on the bench for no reason. Again, he said "I count on Ronaldo for the rest of the season, I want him to be in the squad and be involved as he has an impact." yesterday. On his return season to PL, finished with more goals than likes of prime Kane and Mane. No better finisher at United, Martial and Rashford are not natural strikers. Greenwood was, but long gone. There's no other goalscorer option when you look at bench, Ten Hag has to play him more frequently to keep him in form.

  • @Byakuya I don’t know why everyone is coming for your throat when all you’re pointing out is that it doesn’t make sense to keep a player you’re not going to play as a manager. You’re absolutely right, if he’s gonna be there then clearly he must be given more gametime than just 3 minutes and stoppage time

  • @Byakuya I don't get it. I suggest you're a Man Utd fan not a Ronaldo fanboy. Did you missed the 2 matches that CR7 play fully 180+ min. Omonia Nicosia. Ring a bell? Your beloved legend score ZERO goal. He's finish when he choose to absence from pre season. CR7 score more goals for Real Madrid, and I suggest no Real Madrid fan think CR7 is bigger than their club. ETH will have a better striker, if the Glazer let him go. Just give ETH 3 proper transfer windows, and you will have a team to compete for EPL and UECL.

  • @FootballFanatics Topic is never a player being or trying to be bigger than the club, you can check my older comments while defending my "beloved legend" Rooney as well when Mourinho came. Also no discussion about "will have" as many games to go until transfer window and he "has to" play the only proper striker in club. It's normal to underperform if can't get enough playtime, proved many times including last season that he will deliver when giving enough chance. Last season team was even worse, you should rather listen Keane's comments to see what I'm talking about.

  • @Byakuya You need to see the opta stats.

  • looks like a draw here...

  • Under 2.5 goals @1.90

  • Just retire Ronaldo. You're finished.

  • @Nico1 I don't remember ever seeing this guy talking about PSG or Messi until 2 years ago, he's one of fanboys now just because Ronaldo came back to United. Not even commenting on his team's (Liverpool) game which just took the L, life of a hater.

  • @Nico1 he just needs to be in a decent club to be included in the national team, will take the billion euro deal after the world cup...

  • @AramisMick In other words it’s just about him and him. No player is bigger than club paying him. He has massaged his ego to another level
