Team News

Aberdeen
Kilmarnock
  • Interim Aberdeen manager Barry Robson named an unchanged Dons team after their superb 3-0 victory over Hearts at Pittodrie, as they continued their fine form by grinding out a 1-0 win against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park at the weekend.
  • Kelle Roos replaced the injured Jay Gorter in goal. Liam Scales accompanied Angus MacDonald and Matty Pollock, who scored his first Aberdeen goal against Hearts. Graeme Shinnie was sent off late on against Saints, so misses this match.
  • Jonny Hayes and Ross McCrorie provided the width on the flanks. Bojan Miovski started in the Aberdeen attack alongside Duk, who bagged a brace against their rivals for third in their last home game.
  • Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named an unchanged Killie side despite being held at home in a 1-1 draw against St Johnstone at Rugby Park. However, it worked as they bounced back with a 2-1 win over Hearts in Ayrshire last Saturday.
  • Jeriel Dorsett continued in Killie's back three, replacing Ash Taylor. Liverpool loanee Luke Chambers dropped out, as Jordan Jones took his spot on the left-hand side of Killie's five-man midfield.
  • David Watson has made back-to-back starts, joining Liam Donnelly and Rory McKenzie in midfield. The club captain will miss this match after being sent off against the Jambos, as Kyle Vassell and Christian Doidge continued in attack.

Prediction

  • Fourth-top hosts third bottom, with Aberdeen and Kilmarnock both having their sights set on climbing the Scottish Premiership table.
  • It's been a remarkable turnaround for the Dons, now trailing Hearts by just one point and having won more league matches than the third-placed Jambos. Given the capital club's shaky recent form, Aberdeen will certainly fancy their chances at leapfrogging the side that were 'best of the rest' last season. A victory here could potentially see them sat in third place on Saturday evening.
  • Killie picked up a pivotal three points - alongside aiding Aberdeen's bid for third - against Hearts as they bid to survive in Scotland's top tier. Four points clear of Ross County in the relegation playoff place and six clear of Dundee United, who are rooted to the bottom of the table, Kilmarnock's heads are above water for now and they'll hope that's the case in the next few months.
  • Killie are fighting for each and every point, but given Aberdeen's rich vein of form, the hosts will fancy claiming all three points against the visitors in this one.
