Such incredibly poor games both in Manchester and in Portugal. City found a goal from an unlikely source, but overall I see the same problems in both games. Since the pace of the game is if 50+ year old seniors would be playing because of lack of courage, 1. on the defensive end of the game there is not enough pressure on the attacking side with the ball so as to force errors and create transitions as a consequence from which they could catch the opposing defences off guard, develop shooting situations, and score a goal, 2. on the offensive side, there is not enough forward movement into spaces from the attacking players WITHOUT the ball so that the attacking team could surprise their opponent. Thus, there are way too few shots on target considering that both goalkeepers are world class and each team would need about 6 shots on target in each half to score 2 or more goals. Everything is too predictable and even City risks that Bayern will somehow find a goal in the second half.
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Alexander Bah got injuried in the classico and Gilberto will be the right back. He is not very reliable and get dribbled easily and sees cards often, so you do what you want with this information. I just think it is important to point out.
@SlobbaN It seems like Benfica's good form is over as well. 2 out of 2 bad performances since the Euro qualifiers break. That's the reason I hate national team matches midseason.
