Team News

Man Utd
Arsenal
  • Patrick Dorgu is suspended, with Diogo Dalot expected to deputise at left wing-back this weekend.
  • Manuel Ugarte and Harry Maguire both missed the 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in midweek and will be assessed, and Ruben Amorim has seemingly ruled the duo out of Sunday's welcome of Arsenal.
  • Chido Obi sat out the European stalemate, but is available for selection on Sunday against his former side.
  • 10 players are missing due to injury for United.
  • Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns for Sunday's trip to Manchester United with Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli all missing.
  • Myles Lewis-Skelly was taken off in the first half in midweek and while Riccardo Calafiori impressed off the bench, the former may get the nod here.
  • After a resounding 7-1 win at PSV, Mikel Arteta may go with the same XI here.

Prediction

  • Manchester United claimed a creditable 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad on Thursday evening but the stalemate in Spain means they have won only one of their last five. United have also been wholly inconsistent at home, winning four and losing six of their last 10 at Old Trafford.
  • Arsenal responded to a sub-par run of form with a resounding 7-1 win at PSV in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The Gunners have lost only one of their last five meetings with United, and that was a penalty shootout defeat in the FA Cup earlier this year.
  • Arsenal have won their last three league meetings with United, including a 1-0 win at Old Trafford last May. With confidence high following the midweek victory in Eindhoven, the Gunners should claim all the spoils on Sunday afternoon.

  • Hojlund would be a perfect fit in Arsenal, slow in reactions. Does Farteta know what the counter-attacking tactics look like? lol, whenever they had a chance for the fast attack they gave a ball away - too fast for them.

  • @koziol.mutant won both bets so not grudged comment, just observations. Also, Onana and Casemiro played well. Man Utd need top quality striker for any tactics Amorim tries.

  • After 7-1 trash vs PSV in CL,people thought Arsenal could deal better without their goalscorers (Havertz-Saka-Martinelli). But this is PL not CL,think again how lousy Arsenal are becoming without key players, worse than the noisy neighbors (Man .City),who rotate team like a Carousel every week. Lol!

  • Arsenal cannot handle the pressure.

  • @Marbella Exactly! If they keep playing like this they'll throw away an excellent chance at a 2nd.

  • I repeat,Bruno always the Man of The Match (MOTM). What Man. U could o without him?

  • There have been over 1.5 goals in 13 consecutive Man Utd home league games.

  • Casemero and Eriksen in the United match day squad? It's Arsenal all day long!

  • Last confrontation at MU place was a Defeat for MU (0-1 the 12th May 2024). From my history going from 1951, it never happened to see Arsenal get two consecutive wins at MU.

  • @karek501 sorry i'm wrong, it occured 2 times: 1962/63 and 1978/79

  • @karek501 Fair play for correcting yourself.

  • Gabriel to score a header.

  • under 2.5 match goals

  • BTTS - 2.00 I see this match could have goals coming in from both the sides, Arsenal has conceded in 8 of last 9 away in Premier League games now. Man United are on 4 match BTTS streak in overall now. Those two have some rivalry playing at Old Trafford as 8 of last 10 matches here had BTTS.

  • Arsenal 16 points behind Liverpool but have played 2 games less.If Arsenal lose this then i cannot see them catching Liverpool.

  • @Marbella Even if Arsenal somehow where to get all 33 points they have left (already didnt) Liverpool could well get 23/27 and become champions. Its just not plausible. Not happening 999 Times out of 1000.

  • Under 3.5 goals safe

  • Man Utd ain't no PSV

  • @PeterFile exactly and with this kind of match the bookies trash many bettors

  • @Betnice What do you mean by that?

  • @Betnice correct

  • @PeterFile PSV have been better the last 3-4 years

  • @Kingjigga psv missed their attacking trio

  • @Kingjigga I meant won't be 7-1

  • 1-1. over corners

  • @koziol.mutant ea$y

  • Arsenal -1,5 @3,10

  • If Arteta goes with a strongest available line up, i.e leave players like Sterling and Jorginho on the bench, then Arsenal should be able to take care of Man Utd. Both teams have 0 strikers anyway but at least Arsenal have better defense and midfield.

  • @GoonerRSA sure! that makes this game unpredicted

  • 0-0 or 1-0 either way

  • tough one , could go either way
