Team News

AVS Futebol SAD
Casa Pia AC
  • Rui Ferreira opted for a three-man backline against Braga but that didn't yield a positive result and he will likely return to the 4-3-3 shape.
  • Lucas Piazón is a doubt for Saturday, but if he recovers he will likely feature up front or in the AFS engine room. Otherwise Akinsola should have another chance to start.
  • Vasco Lopes is available and might return to action here.
  • José Fonte won't feature here due to an accumulation of bookings, which will hand Tchamba a chance to start at the heart of the defence.
  • Rafael Brito is back available after serving a match ban and will boost Casa Pia's options in the middle of the park. He will be in competition with Sousa, Mohamed and Kraev for a starting spot.
  • André Geraldes and Benaissa put in a decent performance last time out and at least one of them could start at wing-back if coach João Pereira decides to ring the changes.

Prediction

  • AFS lost, as expected, against SC Braga last weekend. The scoreline, however, was a surprise, and Rui Ferreira's men will have to improve if they want to get out of the bottom three. If they lose on Saturday, they could even drop into the relegation zone.
  • Casa Pia put in a good performance but it wasn't enough to surprise FC Porto. The Gansos have won just one of their last six games, which has distanced them from the European places. Still, there's nothing to detract from what's been an excellent season.
  • Casa Pia's solid defence should frustrate AFS' chances of picking up three points and the pressure of winning may not help in this regard. A win for the visitors wouldn't be surprising.
