Team News

Porto
Famalicao
  • Deniz Gul got the nod over Samu up front last time out and it wouldn't be a surprise if that happens again on Friday due to his performance last weekend.
  • João Mário should start at right-wing back once again given that Martim Fernandes serves a match due to an accumulation of bookings.
  • 17-year old Rodrigo Mora is enjoying a delightful run of form, scoring decisive goals in three of the last four appearances.
  • With a goal and an assist, Sorriso was a standout performer last time out and will push for another start out wide.
  • Hugo Oliveira will need a solution at right-back as Rodrigo Pinheiro serves a match ban due to an accumulation of bookings. Calegari would be the obvious choice.
  • Rafa Soares is available but Pedro Bondo's wonderful performance last weekend makes him a viable option for the left-back position.

Prediction

  • Despite having to sweat it out, FC Porto beat Casa Pia 1-0, a result that helps them move on from their 4-1 defeat against Benfica the previous week. They're still in the fight for a podium place and will be looking to put pressure on Braga with a win here.
  • Famalicão beat Estoril 3-0 thanks to a convincing second half last weekend. Hugo Oliveira's men are enjoying a great run of form and arrive at the Estádio do Dragão on the back of three consecutive wins. They are increasingly solid in their organisation and have shown good attacking quality with nine goals in the last three games.
  • Despite playing at home and having more technically gifted players, this should be a very tricky game for FC Porto, as they come up against one of the best-organised teams in the league. A draw wouldn't be a shocking result.
