Team News

Santa Clara
Famalicao
  • Luís Rocha reached a milestone of bookings and won't be available here, paving the way for Frederico Venâncio to start alongside Sidney Lima and MT at the heart of the defense.
  • Ricardinho is enjoying a delightful run of form, scoring in each of his last couple of appearances. He should feature out wide once again, keeping Vinícius Lopes on the bench... unless Vasco Matos opts to use the Brazilian in the number 9 role - in that case, João Costa would be the one kicked out of the starting XI.
  • Serginho and Firmino had a lovely performance against SC Braga and it wouldn't be a surprise if they kept their spots in the middle of the park, although Pedro Ferreira is also a viable option to feature there.
  • Pedro Bondo was sent off last time around and serves a match ban. Rafa Soares will likely start at the left-hand side of the defense as a result.
  • Elisor scored last time around and will push for another start upfront, keeping Sejk on the bench.
  • Amorim could start at the middle of the park Hugo Oliveira decides to ring the changes there, with either Topic or van de Looi starting on the bench.

Prediction

  • Santa Clara got a valuable draw against SC Braga last time out and remain alive in the fight for a place in the top 5. Vasco Matos' men are enjoying a good run of form and are looking to close the season on a high note.
  • Famalicão lost to relegation-threatened Farense last weekend and come into this game on the back of a 3-match winless run. They have their sights set on a top 7 finish and will need to get at least a point here to secure it.
  • Both teams are very well organised, but Santa Clara's good form, combined with the home factor, could make the difference. A win for the hosts is the most likely outcome here.
