Team News

Gil Vicente
Arouca
  • Mutombo started at left-back last time around, but Sandro Cruz might take over on that role if recovered.
  • Fujimoto was relegated to the bench at the last minute, but he should reclaim a starting XI spot, moving João Marques to the bench.
  • Jonathan Buatu had a wonderful performance against Sporting last weekend and will likely start at the heart of the defence, especially if Elimbi doesn't recover on time.
  • Vasco Seabra will have to change things in Arouca's engine room due to Fukui's absence through suspension. Mamadou Loum, who is back available, is the main candidate to replace the Japanese.
  • Alfonso Trezza is also unavailable due to suspension as he was sent off during stoppage time last time out. Sylla is the main candidate to replace him out wide.
  • Jason and Nandín featured from the bench last time around and their decent performances may have pushed them into the starting XI here.

Prediction

  • Despite losing to Sporting, Gil Vicente were very organised defensively and were winning until the late stages of the game. This defeat didn't affect the Roosters’ objectives, as they've already secured top flight competition next season.
  • Arouca could only manage a goalless draw against Casa Pia last time out. They've only won 1 of their last 7 games and will be looking to reverse this trend on Saturday despite having little more than pride to fight for.
  • Although Gil Vicente recorded a worse result than Arouca last weekend, the truth is that they came out of that game more moralised than their next opponents.
  • If we add the home factor to this, we can see that the conditions are set for a home win.
