What a crazy game of football.
Spain is all about teamwork but France players only care about themselves.Players like Mbappe are hated by his French team mates and Real Madrid.
@Marbella Haha sure seems like it. You can tell him and Vini don't get along. People wanted to see Doue but without a world class midfield behind him he's going to get frustrated. Olise may be a decent forward but France can't really compete with Spain's mid with just Rabiot/Kone. And Who TF is Kone?

Great debut for Cherki, nice goal but he also got the team working again. Even the OG was provoked by his cross, that's a hand in all 3. Maybe Spain needs to learn how to close out games better, or it was just the overconfidence of being up 5-1 with half an hour left.

@Marbella Loving it, Deschamps will be out soon. The French will realize they need a coach that can utilize their talent if they want a shot at the WC next year. IMO they peaked at or a bit before the last WC final.
I don't agree that Lamine Yamal will be or already is the best footballer in the world. To have statistics like Messi or CR7, you either have to take some steroids or growth hormones like Messi, or have huge physical potential like CR7. CR7 will have about 1000 goals at the end of his career, Lamine Yamal between 200 and 250 most likely. That's a huge gap. Kylian Mbappe was also much better than Lamine Yamal at his age. Lamine Yamal's career will be similar to Ronaldinho's. He will have a few years at the top and that's it.
@Marcraft No he's a genuine talent. It takes balls to routinely take on adult professionals, skill to succeed, and a presence of mind to pick out the right pass to complete the play, and that last one is extraordinarily rare among teenagers. Most can dribble, shoot, or pass, but not all 3. This guys does all 3 consistently at a level that rivals accomplished veterans. Yamal's only real risk is that he gets into drugs/parties and ends up like Ronaldinho. If he's a professional he will become a more influential player than either Mbappe or Haaland. Not trying to compare him with Messi but he's been the closest Barca/Spain have had to a player profile like his.

@KingKeno Watch tonight's game vs Chile, Scaloni already stated he won't start Messi and that he will likely come on in the second half. That will likely be his new role going forward. The rest of the squad wants to prove they don't need him to excel and they've had some surprisingly big wins so far.

I'm starting to get the impression neither team actually wants to play each other because they see each other as likely finalists for the next world cup and the coaches don't want to show their hands.
@tkr Now that would be a first. It's like refusing to play the Supercup in the Summer because you are sure that you will face your biggest opponent in the cup final next Spring. I don't think either team is afraid of the other one, or that they know they will play each other the World Cup final. They could be drawn in the same path and face off in the quarters or semis, after all. I think the only reason FIFA haven't 100% scheduled it yet is that the football calendar is too stacked. But I heard it's maybe 80% certain that it will be in March.

Kone - 4 dribbles, Mbappe - 3, Yamal - only 2. Their ratings are in reverse order. Whodribbled my ass. The kid is doing it all out there. He took part in 3 goals and scored 2 himself. He even had more tackles than anyone on the French team.
France awful at converting chances, but ice-hockey score more than predicted;)

@Sputnik I'm only seeing this after the 0-2, they should be good enough to at least score a goal or maybe 2. Would love to see some extra time but barring some gross errors this Spanish team will just get more comfortable throughout the 2nd half. Bad defending and lame keeper, half time can't come soon enough for France.
