Team News

Kilmarnock
Dundee FC
  • Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named an unchanged Killie team after their 2-0 victory over Ross County at Rugby Park, was succeeded by a victory against St Johnstone in Perth by the same scoreline.
  • Kieran O'Hara continued in goal behind a back four of Corrie Ndaba, Stuart Findlay, Robbie Deas and Lewis Mayo.
  • David Watson and Liam Donnelly continued in the middle of the park. Fraser Murray started on the left-hand side, with Danny Armstrong on the right.
  • They aimed to provide the ammunition for Bobby Wales and Bruce Anderson in attack.
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty named just one change to the Dee team snuck past Hearts thanks to a sole goal at Tynecastle, before a late 2-1 loss to Motherwell at Dens Park at the weekend.
  • Trevor Carson continued in goal, behind a back four of Ziyad Larkeche, Clark Robertson, Joe Shaughnessy and Ryan Astley at right-back.
  • Antonio Portales continued alongside Lyall Cameron and Josh Mulligan in midfield.
  • Scott Tiffoney and the fit-again Olwaseun Adewumi, who replaced Seb Palmer-Houlden, supported Simon Murray in attack.

Prediction

  • Ninth-placed Kilmarnock and Dundee in tenth are two teams that are looking to keep their heads above the water and their Scottish Premiership statuses intact for next season.
  • Kilmarnock clinched just a third Scottish Premiership victory on the road this season, others coming at Dens Park against Dundee and Tynecastle versus Hearts, as they beat St Johnstone 2-0 to move a step closer to top-flight survival. If Killie can win and results go their way this weekend, with the bottom two meeting in Perth, their top flight survival could be secured with two games to go.
  • However, Dundee could move to within a point of Kilmarnock if they can beat Killie in Ayrshire for the first time since promotion via the playoffs. The Dee missed out on the chance to clinch back-to-back home league victories over Motherwell for the first time since October 2015, and the first time within a single season since 2001/02, as they couldn't make their home or man advantage count.
  • There's been goals when these two teams have met this season, with a draw succeeding a victory for either side. Whilst it would do neither any favours, a share of the spoils may be in store on Saturday afternoon in Ayrshire.
