  • Penalty, yes,no doubt about it,denying a goal opportunity in the six yard area, even if a slightly touch. But a red card was harsh. I'd ban such a referee not taking care of consequences of a game outcome. The irony is that UEFA Europa League will be played in Bilbao,in the same Stadium. So beware Man. U for return match.

  • The one positive of the disgrace of this game is that the final is poised to be the battle of the bottlers

  • Harronaldo Maguire The Magic Man

  • Very impressed with MU so far.Not many teams go to Athletic and Win.

  • @Marbella They’ve been very good, but also helped by an appalling VAR decision. Should be 0-1 if anything

  • Well this was unexpected. I guess Bilbao didn't have their usual referees this time

  • @Johnson2 You're an idiot.

  • Penalty and red card for that is beyond disgraceful.

  • @sarigginsUSA it is a clear red, the rules are simple. When you stopped a goal scoring opportunity with no intention of playing the ball, it is a red card. Or penalty depending on where it happened. You saw VAR looking at Maguire incident for a potential red card too.

  • @Ezechi The referee was asked to review it himself, meaning it’s considered a subjective decision. There is minor pulling back from Vivian, but nowhere near enough contact to send Hojlund flying. The denial of a goal scoring opportunity question depends on if the referee believes the player would have been able to reach the ball without contact, or if the contact was enough to prevent him. I think it’s pretty clear that in physical terms, Hojlund was perfectly capable of reaching the ball even with the attempted drag back. Certainly, if it’s not clear, it’s not supposed to be given a red.

  • @sarigginsUSA Gotta save MU's disasterous season somwhow...

  • @DanInter Guess the “renovation project” includes bribery priced in.

  • @sarigginsUSA Bro it is European football and nothing like soccer you guys play there. It was Red card on any day he was the only person who can stop hojlund at that very moment and he did that too but while doing that he had no intentions of playing the ball. So the ref was right on that occasion.

  • MU can't score and their defense is not great away from home. 2-0

  • 0-1 Bruno Fernandes

  • United got 3 draws with Ten Hag, I said United had difficult games and have potential to win all the remaining games. Here we are still unbeaten even after league phase, can't see winning this one though. A narrow defeat might still bring United to final, hoping for a dead game without errors.

  • Bilbao are No Joke at home, will be A tough match for United. BTTS

  • United double chance

  • The problem with Man United is its defence. Conversely, Atletic Bilbao defensive strength at home is rock solid. Winning just 4 away matches out of 17 isnt a proud record, that too coming from teams which are not even in the Top 10 in the league, in the likes of Leicester, Fulham and Southampton, bar the derby match against Man City which it narrowly won. Bilbao had only lost once at home, the entire season, losing 0-1 to Atletico Madrid Over the last 6 recent matches, Bilbao had scored an awesome 15 goals and only conceding 3 at home Man United may probably notch a goal but that may not be enough to even get a point Bilbao 2-1 or 3-1

  • Bilbao with a huge win. Physicality is a massively underrated asset of the Bilbao style, and their pressing ability will severely rattle United. That said, Bilbao’s finishing is also very hot and cold, so depending on how the Williams bros and co turn up, this could be anything from a 0-0 to a 5-2

  • Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt have returned to training this week.

  • bilbao to win 3-0. Inaki williams TSA

  • Athletic home ground is like a 'fortress'.Athletic to win 2-0.

  • @Marbella some fortress , 2-0 united now

  • @Marbella It's just not only a fortress, bro, it's a cage

  • united double chance

  • draw
