Backed Harry Kane to be highest rated player with Bet Victor. You gave him star man on saturday evening and he is now showing both highest rated and star man.
Bet Victor settled on Monreal!! Are you affiliated with Bet Victor? It is very convenient that you pick a random player for highest rated, then amend to the obvious man of the match later on once all bets settled on the player who almost certainly had very few backers.
I am not sure what more Kane could have done to get the highest rating during the match. With Kane now top and Monreal down to 3rd, did the match continue off air after the 90 minutes play?
I'm new to WhoScored. Are there any stats for goal clearances--like how often a team loses possession from a punt or goal kick? It seemed that Ospina, while strong at the back, just booted it long every time and that Arsenal didn't hold on to many such punts or goal kicks. Ramsey seemed particularly flummoxed. For a side that prides itself on possession and building play, it seemed an odd tactic, particularly when it became clear it wasn't working
SHOCKING. backed Kane highest rated and there paying out on monreal still as was settled after 1 hour it stands. dont ever use bet victor people shocking
How on earth can Monreal be the man of the match here for Whoscored??? As Arsenal supporter I have do admit the only right MOT can only be Harry Kane or can anybody explain me why monorail was so extremely good?
pt 3- As for Tottenham, Kane is proving he can score in the big games but how long it'll last with the media piling pressure on him only time will tell. This is his 1st season as a starter and he wasn't even starting at the begin of it. You would've thought after many precocious English players falling far short of their potential, the media- commentators included, would be more cautious about banding phrases such as "star of the future" around but nope. Kane is still somewhat of an unknown quantity, next season he will be viewed by opposition defences the same way Costa is now. What if he 'only' scores 10 goals in his 2nd season as a starter because oppositions have learned how to defend against him more effectively? Does he then go from a world-class finisher to a mediocre one even though he'll still only be a 22-year old learning how the ply his trade? It's ridiculous the level of stupidity and how irresponsible the punditry is in this country.
@SteveHyland Thing is, he's not some flashy one trick pony or anything. He his fundamentals and intangibles are off the charts. That's why I think he'll go far. I don't think this is another case of the "Andros Townsend hype," despite my love for the lad. Although, who knows in this case, you may end up being right.
@Skrong- Don't get me wrong, I THINK he will be a star- a perennially prolific striker, and for the greater good that is England, I want him too (though not against us anymore obviously!). It's just too early for people to state is as though it's a fact. It annoyed me more the pundits on MotD than the written media. Jenas himself was supposedly a "star in the making", even without injuries he was far short of even being consistent premier league class. The one thing in Kane's favour above his footballing qualities is his attitude. He doesn't seem to me to be a person likely to be changed by fame/money like Rooney or throw his talent away like Gazza (and likely Wilshere) but it's a hell of a lot to pile on a 21-year old in his first full (well, 90% full) campaign. Call him a star if/when he is but not before is all I ask of our media.
@SteveHyland agreed to this comment, it shame kane is on the other side.. he has physicality and pace to be a very good striker. His attitude also very good, inside or outside the pitch unlike our own wilshere.. how long he can last its depend on him, his team and manager. From my point of view, i do think he will do right for his team and england.. ofcourse i dont want he does good against arsenal and pray he switch off when play against arsenal.. this match, spurs was worthy winner thanks to him. while arsenal has very bad game. considering our replacement is akpom still beyond me.. its strange when first half of the campaign we have alot of striker and then second half, only giroud as the senior striker.. campbell should stay, he is our 2nd best striker after podolski left..
pt. 2- Ramsey was terrible, kept giving the ball away, was beaten by players and shrugged off the ball multiple times and for the life of me don't know why he didn't look behind him to see if anyone was there. Even with zonal marking, you need to be aware of players around you, especially when it's the league's most in-form striker. He has not long come back from injury though so needs time and has world-class potential so long-term I'm not worried. Coquelin wasn't bad per se but he wasn't great. There were a few times that Dembele got too close to our area without having much pressure on him. It's only the fact he cannot shoot that those runs on their own didn't cost us. I thought having gone 1-0 we would've made a conscious effort to control the game. There was no reason to still play defensively then.
Spurs played well and we didn't and they deserved to win, even Wenger admitted as much and he never admits anything. At least 50% of that was down to our mindset I feel. I don't mind us being conservative away to Man City- a team that can dominate any other at home but this is Tottenham. With all respect, they aren't in the same bracket and although have played well at home in recent times, don't have a midfield that (on paper at least) are as adept at passing and keeping the ball as our's. Every game between the 2 could be like the one at the Emirates early in the season where we had 70% of the ball and Spurs had 2 attacks but it's as though we play all-attack or all-defence not the in-between which makes champions. Cazorla especially didn't look right, as though he was carrying a muscle strain and playing within himself. pt. 1
Calm down spuds, we're letting you sin this one, just to give you a glimmer of hope for a top four place and finishing above The Mighty Arsenal, only so that crushing all those dreams is so much sweeter for us come the end of the season.
COYG! FOYS!
@What4 You muppet learn to spell first before you start making excuses. Accept the thrashing and move on. Arse's counter-attack was neutralized by Pochettino's high pressure football. I'm going to give you a hint where Poch got it from: Marcelo "El Loco" Bielsa...you LOSS MUPPET
@What4 deliberately losing just to give opponent a hope? Wow this is one of the most intelligent things I've ever seen on this site. It only takes a genius to come up with that.
@Skrong- You, Spurs fans I mean, have short memories. We dominated you moreso than you did to us today in the game at the Emirates earlier in the season but just didn't win. That should've been an 8-1 Arsenal win or something but you escaped with a point. The gameplan was evidently the same as it was against City so the lack of possession early on was at least somewhat down to us sitting back. That wasn't the case at the Emirates. Even as a blinkered Spurs fan you'll have to admit that or do north London derbies only count when Spurs win?
@SteveHyland This season Spurs have taken 4 points from Arsenal. There is now doubt we have the bragging rights this season and Arsenal fans can't take it so they should shut the fuck up!
@SteveHyland Okay, pal. How many derbies has Wenger employed the same tactics (defensive, counter) in? Whenever we lose, I speak freely and criticize or praise Spurs accordingly. It just so happens that Wenger chooses to sit back against us, I reckon he'll start to change that though. Arsenal were shocking today, poorest showing I've seen from them (in a derby) in a while.
You mentioned the point about derbies only counting when we win, but why is that when we do win or outplay there are always excuses coming out (not saying from you just the Arsenal fanbase in general)? Whether it's Sanchez's absence, Wenger's tactics (as compared to our tactics stifling you)? Just some observations. If I sound snobby it's only because of the amount of rubbish I've seen from Arsenal fans means I can push the boundaries pretty far without even getting close to the stuff they've said.
@Skrong- You're kind of agreeing with me that Spurs' dominance early on was at least somewhat to do with Wenger's tactics grossly overestimating Tottenham's ability in midfield. It's as though he saw the City win and thought "That's our away performance blueprint from now" even though it should be the opposition not venue which determines the gameplan. We had a much better chance in this game had we gone out and tried to take the game to Tottenham. If not straight away then definitely after we scored. Maybe Spurs would've still won or had more of the ball etc, you don't know, but it was guaranteed we would never be able to do that playing the same way we did against City which I think was a huge tactical mistake.
@SteveHyland You sound stupid! Spurs midfield dominated and played your boys out the park. I'll repeat to you what I said to the previous muppet. Spurs played high pressure football and the won the ball back quickly which neutralized Arse's ability to counter-attack...Poch is one of Marcelo "El Loco" Bielsa's disciples...The same El Loco that managed Newell Old Boys, Chilean Men's National Team, Atletico Bilbao, and now Marseille. Thank you for the 4 points chump!
@Jbey- Do you seriously think with Cazorla at his best, Ramsey anywhere near in-form and the tactics to dominate possession, you would've had more than 39% of the ball? Spurs did pressure well but part of our training is 1-touch passing with players running at those with the ball. Do you think they aren't used to bodies rushing at them? Spurs just simply do not have the same class in midfield as we do, that is a FACT and cannot go toe to toe with a quality footballing team and the fact we went with the mindset of sitting back then countering ultimately cost us the game imo. That's not to say that Tottenham weren't deserving of the win, because they were, but as I said previously, you only really play conservatively (defensive with counter attacks) against teams away from home on your level or better and (rarely in the case of Arsenal) at home against those better than you (Barcelona at peak, Bayern Munich etc).
I like it to end in a 16-16 draw. Spurs jump out to a 12-5 lead by the break, but it's all Gunners in the second half as they come back to snatch an unlikely point.
Spurs will win this one. Although Arsenal have lot of attacking talent, they are weak in defence and midfied. Also Ospina is not tested against top team. On the other hand Tottenham was lacking the attacking quality but seems to me that the players are getting to their best. Chadli, Erikson, Lamela are talented lads and have ability to turn game on their own. The key position which both teams were lacking from past 6-7 seasons is quality striker. Giroud is good in Air but he lacks vision, shooting accuracy. On the other hand Kane broke in first team this season and given chances he has proved himself. Already scored 15+ goals this season and there is long way to go. Thats good stat for young player like him who became first team player. Loris is best GK along with De Gea in PL.
Final score: Tottenham 3-2 Arsenel
Erikson,Kane,Lamela - Walcot,Giroud.
I'm a Chelsea fan, so I guess my view is impartial. Gunners have more quality. Without Sánchez they'll have difficulties, but still thinking Arsenal will win. 1x2, as you said.
I torn between chambers and hector, not sure who should play at the right, although chambers is more defensive but he lacks pace, and hector is more aggressive I wouldn't call him the best tackler out there. Tottenham pack a strong punch from right, coquelin would have to be extra careful on the right.
Arsenal have a very tough game coming up on wed against Leicester City! As per white hart lane game is going to be the usual with or without Sanchez! COYG!
@mistawess Koscielny's pocket? haha Kane tore apart the best defensive backline in England two years running and you think he's no match for the Tree and Mr. Rash? lmao great banter.
Finally, Mister overrated Coquelin is going to face a proper Premier League CM in Dembele. He was completely hopless against Wanyama already and shame that Toure was missing for City on that day, he would have torn him apart aswell. Mertesacker and Koscielny will face a white nightmare in Kane and good old Özil is going to be dead on the wing, can't wait for Lamela dribbling past him. Cazorla's run is going to end. Foul us once at the penalty box and Eriksen is going to convert the freekick. Our squad is fully fit, hungry and young. Ox and Sanchez missing, and whoscored going for the 1-2 scoreline, LOL. Good Luck Arsenal, you will need it.
FT: Spurs 3 Arsenal 0 (Kane, Eriksen, Chadli)
@phuchoa You make it sound like we're a one man team. Alexis has missed two games this season we won them both scoring 8 goals in the process + we've got 18 different individual goal scorers (most in the league) the attacking strength in depth we have is amazing, on top of that we beat Spurs three times last season with out the Electric Chilean & our new counter attacking style.
I think Dier should play this one as Arsenal have a lot of pace that would trouble Fazio. Overall i think Arsenal will win this one as Walcott, Giroud, even Rosicky (if he plays any part in this game) always seem to score against us and could also see Cazorla scoring too.
ospina, cazorla, bellerin, coq, even walcott and ozil are in their way to hit their form.. if spurs play like they can score lots of goals, im confident we can beat em like we did to city.. the defence has been really good since these coq, ospina, and bellerin on the pitch. not to forget our Rosicky and cazorla in the attacking area. cant wait to face the on form ericksen and kane. this will be tough
I doubt Sanchez will be in the squad for this game. He has a hamstring strain which, if not left to fully heal, could turn into a pull and that potential injury could force Wenger's hand. I expect the team to remain unchanged from the Villa game but tactically, to be less open in the midfield with Ramsey being told to play more like he did against City. I expect an Arsenal win, although it'll be tough. Coquelin will need to follow Eriksen much in the same way he did David Silva. I'm going to predict 2-1, Giroud and Ramsey for us, Lamela for Spurs. Ramsey MotM- more in hope than expectation. He needs to get back to the form of the begin of last season and no better game to start in an away derby.
@SteveHyland I agree with you, especially regarding Ramsey. I predict the same score with Kane or Erikksen scoring for Spurs (maybe from a direct FK) but Santi Cazorla as MOTM. He is in red-hot form at the moment.
Backed Harry Kane to be highest rated player with Bet Victor. You gave him star man on saturday evening and he is now showing both highest rated and star man. Bet Victor settled on Monreal!! @yameson Pass accuracy. The less accurate you are, the worse your rating will be.
SHOCKING. backed Kane highest rated and there paying out on monreal still as was settled after 1 hour it stands. dont ever use bet victor people shocking

@What4 deliberately losing just to give opponent a hope? Wow this is one of the most intelligent things I've ever seen on this site. It only takes a genius to come up with that.
so surprise, Nacho Monreal = man of the match, but he did his job very well.
London is red (albeit with embarrassment)
Szczęsny should make himself comfortable on the bench. Ospina was class today and without him it'd be 6-1.
@El_Duderino more like 6-2. Lloris has the best save of the match
Wow some top class goalkeeping from both keepers. Must admit spurs deserved the win
Harry Kane in the pockets of Kos? HAHAHAHA! And Cockelin was awful. COYS
@Existenzrippchen coquelin was mosy definitely not awful.
Madrid/city r gonna buy harry kane
@levi22 And have him cleaning Penaldo's designer briefs.
Koscielny's pocket seems rather tattered, lads? What's the deal? Harry Kane is a monster.
Arsenal has been outplayed for literally every minute except the goal from Ozil.
@Skrong- You, Spurs fans I mean, have short memories. We dominated you moreso than you did to us today in the game at the Emirates earlier in the season but just didn't win. @Skrong TBF though, Ospina has been terrific. Class keeper.
Spurs can't win against Arsenal the same as Arsenal can't against Man Utd.
@theexar 2-1 for spurs so far my friend...
@CarloCDT I hope this victory means Arsenal beat Man Utd in their next game. ;)
@CarloCDT I'm glad! It's sort of a miracle! :)
another schalke match?
@le_chimiste Not exactly. Yes, S04 too played ultra-defensive game, but had more chances, more shots, more shots on target, whereas here...
@hindy Which club do you support ? Just Curious
@hindy yeah i just got to chance to watch the game a little bit, dissapointed :D
Paulinho for Mason ASAP
@partizan.parti.3 Ew, why?
bellerin pls
i think it ends up 1-4,go ARSENAL!
@llonora It was 1-4. Wait, it was your rating.
Boom the snatch & grab is on.
@Titou14 One half down one half to go, come on Arsenal
I like it to end in a 16-16 draw. Spurs jump out to a 12-5 lead by the break, but it's all Gunners in the second half as they come back to snatch an unlikely point.

I hopes gunner can score early to let down Spur's player confidence. Then, we can control the match.
Wenger said alexis might play
2-2
What about Michelle Saldada!? haha
4-1
Walcott Hattrick. 2-3
go spurs
arsenal win the match, in my opinion
COYG!
3-1
Kane in Koscielny's back pocket, Eriksen coqblocked game won by Walcott and Giroud. cazorla and ozil assists.
@mistawess Koscielny's pocket? haha Kane tore apart the best defensive backline in England two years running and you think he's no match for the Tree and Mr. Rash? lmao great banter.
@mistawess Like he was against Cahill and Terry?
Sanchez is out, though they got in-form giroud and ozil imo its gonig to be a really good and tough game. For me its defo btts and draw possibly..
Finally, Mister overrated Coquelin is going to face a proper Premier League CM in Dembele. He was completely hopless against Wanyama already and shame that Toure was missing for City on that day, he would have torn him apart aswell. @Existenzrippchen LOL I think I'll skip the game. You already told us what's going to happen. Scums' fans are always so clever ^^

Alexis is out, so is the Ox. The has to put a good performance! COYG#
2:2, Spurs are strong at home.
@MareSerb Arsenal are very strong away from home: Man $ity-Arsenal 0-2.
@What4 ManCity are just horrible at home.
@MareSerb Tottenham 0-3 Liverpool :D
@jasper Tottenham 5 Chelsea 3, new team lately

If Sánchez can play Arsenal will win. If he's not able, think Spurs can beat Gunners, or maybe a draw.

@darbymcc Does Dier have much pace either? I can see Spurs sitting deep with a low block and playing on the counter to Lamela and Chadli's strengths.
Spurs have been great recently but Arsenal have been fantastic 1-2
This going to be the first test for the new in form arsenal team. If we pull this one off then we can survive the rest of the season.
ospina, cazorla, bellerin, coq, even walcott and ozil are in their way to hit their form.. if spurs play like they can score lots of goals, im confident we can beat em like we did to city.. the defence has been really good since these coq, ospina, and bellerin on the pitch. not to forget our Rosicky and cazorla in the attacking area. cant wait to face the on form ericksen and kane. this will be tough
