I can't think of a more over-rated central defender in my lifetime than Sergio Ramos (except maybe Gerard Pique- is there a pattern there? With both playing for the only 2 teams in Spain. Emmmmm...). 4-0 will not happen again. Real have their 1st choice squad and Atleti do not convince w/ Mandzukic (i wish we could have seen Diego Costa and Griezmann play together). What matters is if Cristiano and Bale/Isco will bother to put more effort into defending. Not wanting a repeat of the 4-0 humiliation, I feel they will, and have them edging a 1 goal win w/ that p*to CR7 scoring.
This game is going to have alot of rough challenges and many pushes and kicks. Atletico are better on the air, run more, fight harder and play with enthusiasm. That is why they have not lost to Real Madrid this season having played 6 games against them. This means Real Madrid need to be abit more aggressive, play with enthusiasm and not be afraid of going into the challenges. The game will most probably be decided on who wins the midfield battle and depending on Modric and James having a good night, Real may get a positive result. Ancelotti should play deeper, not allowing them to counter us and with the first and most important objective being not conceding a goal. If we do it right and they eventually will have more gaps Bale and Ronaldo can exploit. On the other side if we have posession and are passing the ball sideways we risk again making the same mistakes of being caught napping and conceding from counters. After so many games i would like to see if Ancelotti has solutions here.

This is exactly the type of game where Ancelotti needs to get a positive result by playing smart in midfield rather then bruteforcing our way with our quality in attack. Playing Isco-Kroos-Modric-James in midfield would probably be the best but since Bale, unless injured, will almost always start ahead of Isco... it is to be seen if we can manage to win the midfield battle. Marcelo and Carvajal coming down the flanks will be the most effective way of opening space and creating chances. It will be of utmost importance to have Modric and James carry the ball with pace onwards rather then pass it in the middle because that is where Atletico have been punishing us, stealing the ball in the middle and quickly setting attacks with 2 passes. One other, though unorthodox, approach would be to just play like them..having defenders sit deep, midfielders close to defence and then leaving Ronaldo,Bale high on the wings with Benzema in the middle waiting to collect the ball to launch attacks.

The aspects which they were lacking in were less dyanamic midfield because of luka's absense and kroos exhaustion. And other was defensive breakdown because of porous midfield. Now with luka back and added creative of james we certainly are redeemed side. Scoring even 4 goals against any opposition boosts your confidence tremedously , scoring 9 will give you an added edge in intuition and inadvertant skill of netting balls. Its a juicy fixture but i expect much resistance from Atleti , a sent off would be a norm here.

Do bare in mind that the previous At. Madrid 4-0 R. Madrid win was due to missing key players like Pepe, Ramos, James, Luka and Marcelo. The defence was almost incompetent against fearful los rojiblancos strikers Griezmann and Mandzukic. Still going for a Atlet win ATM 1-0 RMA because the BBC (Bale Benzema Cristiano) are just not doing it together unlike MSN (Messi Neymar Suarez).

As usual, I'm sure this will be another intense and close match. Still it's pretty hard to imagine Real playing the same way they have in the previous derbies. When playing Atletico, it would be much wiser to play 4-4-2 until the last half hour when bale would come in and run through the tired defence of the Atleti. I'm fairly sure that the good run the rojiblancos had this year over Real is down to the 4-3-3. Atletico plays with a lot of strong midfielders, Kroos, Modric and Isco can't fight them on their own, at least not this late in the season.
I'm yearning to see a maverick quadrant of Isco-Luka-Kroos-James against Atletico. Thats the perfect anti-dote against Atleti. Drop Bale !!

Almost everyone is discussing whether or not Real is back in form. What's most important IMO is that Carlo play it smart and don't get his players into wrestling with those butchers. Also, Atletico is not playing particularly well lately, despite the results, if it wasn't for Greizmann, they would have huge trouble scoring. Real needs to be smart, not just pushing forward confident of their attacking abillities. That's the only way Madrid gets any points here. Otherwise Atletico will outwrestle them once again and score from some randomly conceived freekick.

You read it here first folks, Atletico are going to win ONLY IF the ref doesn't fall for the divers on Real's side. If Ronaldo gets a penalty, that could end the match and really put Atletico on the back foot. If the ref gives a lot of free kicks to Real and if he gives yellow and red cards to Atletico for nothing, than Madrid will win. Atletico are aggressive and Real have perfected the art of diving'n crying. UEFA want Real to go through. Past games have been decided by Atleti's desire overcoming Real's superior talent. i don't think Isco or Bale decision matters. What matters is if Cristiano and Bale/Isco will bother to put more effort into defending. Not wanting a repeat of the 4-0 humiliation, I feel they will, and have them edging a 1 goal win w/ that p*to CR7 scoring.

This game is going to have alot of rough challenges and many pushes and kicks. Atletico are better on the air, run more, fight harder and play with enthusiasm. That is why they have not lost to Real Madrid this season having played 6 games against them. This means Real Madrid need to be abit more aggressive, play with enthusiasm and not be afraid of going into the challenges. The game will most probably be decided on who wins the midfield battle and depending on Modric and James having a good night, Real may get a positive result. Ancelotti should play deeper, not allowing them to counter us and with the first and most important objective being not conceding a goal. If we do it right and they eventually will have more gaps Bale and Ronaldo can exploit. On the other side if we have posession and are passing the ball sideways we risk again making the same mistakes of being caught napping and conceding from counters. After so many games i would like to see if Ancelotti has solutions here.

This is exactly the type of game where Ancelotti needs to get a positive result by playing smart in midfield rather then bruteforcing our way with our quality in attack. Playing Isco-Kroos-Modric-James in midfield would probably be the best but since Bale, unless injured, will almost always start ahead of Isco... it is to be seen if we can manage to win the midfield battle. Marcelo and Carvajal coming down the flanks will be the most effective way of opening space and creating chances. It will be of utmost importance to have Modric and James carry the ball with pace onwards rather then pass it in the middle because that is where Atletico have been punishing us, stealing the ball in the middle and quickly setting attacks with 2 passes. One other, though unorthodox, approach would be to just play like them..having defenders sit deep, midfielders close to defence and then leaving Ronaldo,Bale high on the wings with Benzema in the middle waiting to collect the ball to launch attacks.

Saying "we are back in form" is unjustified. Real lost last few Important matches and thrashed Granada. That's no where near being in good form. Atleti will fight for the win and Real will strugle.
@shihab19 Only time will tell who reigns unflinchingly. Real Madrid was in above average to good form in attacking terms since the turn of the year. The aspects which they were lacking in were less dyanamic midfield because of luka's absense and kroos exhaustion. And other was defensive breakdown because of porous midfield. Now with luka back and added creative of james we certainly are redeemed side. Scoring even 4 goals against any opposition boosts your confidence tremedously , scoring 9 will give you an added edge in intuition and inadvertant skill of netting balls. Its a juicy fixture but i expect much resistance from Atleti , a sent off would be a norm here.
