This match was completely spoiled by the worst hooligan in english football. His name is Diego Costa. How to prevent violent hooliganism outside the pitch when the best ref in PL allows it inside?
I don't need to add anything regarding Mike Dean or Diego Costa but it was depressing to see the Chelsea fans rapturous when they won given the manner they won in. I'll be interested to hear what the Chelsea fans on here think of this farce.
@SteveHyland I'm almost disappointed that they got the first red as it almost took the shine off what was looking like a brilliant performance while arsenal looked average and timid.
@SteveHyland I'm a Chelsea fan and I believe Costa should have been sent off but Costa didn't force Gabriel to do that pathetic little kick in front of the ref,I think your forgetting that Chelsea completely dominated the first half and were growing stronger by the minute, they also should have had a penalty in the first half and Cazorla's red card was correct.after the poor start we had of course this was a massive win and fully deserved regardless of wether or not Costa should have been sent off
@bungalow26- part 2: The 2nd yellow for Cazorla wasn't, for me. I saw that as a genuine tackle with zero malice or lack of control. He just missed the ball and caught Cesc. I think had Mike Dean played football, he'd have seen that as a bog-standard foul. That didn't alter the result though, we were done before then.
@bungalow26- I agree Chelsea were by far the better team in the 1st half. We looked tired- some of that was because of the fact we played an away game midweek (and had a strange travel arrangement), played with 10 men for almost an hour etc. They aren't excuses, but it's impossible to entirely ignore those factors. Costa could've seen straight red on 3 occasions against Koscielny. Had he been rightfully sent off, the Gabriel incident wouldn't have happened. The first big wrong decision is always the most costly, not just in sport. It's impossible to predict how events would've turned out, re: Costa's antagonising, had Chelsea scored but assuming everything stayed the same, the HT score should've been 1-0 to a 10-man Chelsea. That would've presented an entirely different situation to Arsenal starting the 2nd half than it did at K.O with close to a guarantee of having 75% of the ball. I believe we would've scored at least once under the circumstances which would've altered the result.
Incidents where Costa could have been sent off: (1) Hands in Koscielny's face. (2) Swinging his arm into Koscielny's face. (3) Chesting Koscielny to the ground. (4) Hands in Gabriel's face. (5) Initiating contact with Gabrile by stopping behind him. (6) Hands in Oxlade-Chamberlain's face. Result: 1 yellow card.
What a depressing "spectacle". A potentially exciting match up, it was clear the game would be decided by something like a sending but you hope otherwise. Gabriel was stupid, but as soon as the crap with Costa, Koscielny and Gabriel started Dean should have understood what Costa was doing, that he had likely done enough to earn two yellow cards that he hadn't seen all of, he seemingly does nothing to try to defuse the situation and Gabriel is just victimized because he commits the last infraction of the thing and Costa appeals the loudest. I still remember when Chelsea/Arsenal games produced good football.
Costa seemed to do similar things when he was in Spain according to the La Liga enthusiasts.
However refs figured it out and time after time gave him a yellow card early on in the game so he would stop being a fanny and behave like a 5 year old told to bring his parents the next day at school.
The refs in England should do something similar.
Cazorla's first yellow was soft too, another bad sending off. Costa could have been sent off three times. Just what we expect from the best refs in the world.
Referees need to start asking why Costa gets so many people carded and sent off. Is it (a) because Costa is a saint, or (b) referees can't do their job. Answers on the back of a postcard please.
@Gundam101 At least Suarez can actually do something with the ball + he has really improved since he went to Barca. Suarez is worldclass, Costa is overrated and a dirtbag.
What do you guys think about Özil? As far as I remember, he ended last season and began this season on fire. Now, according to the stats, his game is rather average.
It's a little shame these teams meet so early since both teams are in bad form. Pressures are huge so I expect quite cautious game. 0-1 with Sanchez to finally score.
Well, I think both clubs lack sharpness up-front to make the game interesting + defensively, chelsea are a bit shaky though I doubt if arsenal would be able to capitalize on that. In my opinion, the game is gonna be an uninteresting cracker, but I value arsenal to win by 1:2.
To be honest the goal theo scored in his last two international matches were pretty weak... against any good side he wouldn't even get the chance, nor would any good keeper allow that. But if arsenal need to win this match... then wenger should have a plan.. rather then allowing free flowing football to find its way to the net.
This match will be held between outsider and one of leaders (ranked 17 and 4). Recent matches Chelsea is playing mutable (in the last 5 games wins – 2). Arsenal is in super good shape now (in the last 5 games wins – 3). The chances to win of two teams are almost the same in this match.
Last 9 head-to-head matches Chelsea won 5 matches, drawn 3 matches, lost 1 matches and goals 14-3. Including matches at home between the teams Chelsea won 3 matches, drawn 0 matches, lost 0 matches and goals 10-1.
Prediction (the most likely outcome according to the bookmakers): 1:1
Anyone who hates Chelsea want Arsenal to win. Anyone who hates Arsene Wenger wants Chelsea to win. It really is that simple, unless you hate both, in which case you want both teams to lose... Oh wait.
Good to see Mike Dean is the ref, the only one consistently worse than Martin Atkinson. I don't think Chelsea fans will be too happy either. Where is Michael Oliver? Consistently the best ref in the league every season, he should get the biggest game of the week every week but instead they give these games to the refs more likely to cause controversy. Intentional ploy to get people talking about the biggest fixture of the weekend?
I get the feeling Mourinho and Wenger would both take a draw. Given Chelsea's recent form, they cannot afford to drop points to a rival. And a point at the bridge is a good result for Arsenal.
Mourinho found out what was going bad with Chelsea and fixed. Ivanovic benched, Costa was benched and will try to prove how good he is and Hazard need to show if he can challenge Neymar and others in the next years for the Ballon D Or. Arsenal side has the most creative midfield of the EPL but don't have any WC finisher as everybody knows plus they will be tired from the 10men Match against D.Zagreb. But hey it's a derby and anything can happen here, i just wanna sit and see a great game. Agree with Whoscored... 2-1 Chelsea but derbys are full of surprises.
I also expect Ivanovc at RB precisely because he's so good at kicking players better than him. Expect fouls to go un-noticed from players like Oscar, Hazard and Fabregas, and dangerous and reckless challenges from the likes of Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Zouma, Cost, Ramires and Mikel to be ignored, not shown a card unles someone actually breaks their leg, or even given against Arsenal. All tihs based on recent encouters in the league between the two teams.
Unfortunately Mike Dean is the ref. More excellent work from the PGMO. Expect Dean, Maureenyo and Chel$ki to revert to type, and kick Arsenal all over the field. I think the inclusion of Ramires is accurate for exactly this reason. Last season Chel$ki were given free rein to kick Arseanl to pieces at $tamford, excpect much the same this time around. It wouldn't surprise me to see both Mikel and Ramires. And expect Hazard to be rubbish as usual, although Dean will allow him to dive all over and win freekicks and penalties. having said all that
@What4 That's right, I wouldn't be surprised if Dean stuck a foot in himself at some point. But seriously, besides letting Chel$ea kick us to pieces, watch Dean rough-handle playing the advantage and many other minor details to give Roman's team an edge. Prove me wrong PGMO.
Wenger sat several starters against Zagreb for the Gunner's recent CL match-- all in anticipation of this one. Arsenal went on to lose that last game. That loss doesn't exactly bode of great deal of confidence in the team in my opinion. I like Arsenal and hope they pull it out but I think the manager was a bit too overcautious with that CL fixture. Sometimes rest is not always the best tactic in regards to maintaining form... My prediction is a draw or a narrow win for Chelsea. All the same, I still think Man City and Arsenal will be the ones duking it out for the top spot this year.
Sanchez looks to me simply out of form. Yes I know he has hit the post against Stoke but still he is lacking a lot of energy. I remember him last session doing very high intensity pressing and this season it's not even existing. So I think arsenal have to get Sanchez in form in order to play better football than in the last EPL games.
Ramsey on the right is not that bad on the wing, but he is no natural winger. Would love to see him back in central midfield.
@arsenal27 Sanchez is not out of form he just had too much on his plate in the last 12 months with world cups, premier league, Copa america... but the real reason he is not scoring is because his element of suprise is no longer there. Every premier league club knows he is going to shot from the left when ever he finds space. So he marked well.
Arsenals really weakness given the probable Whoscored Lineupe will be the bench. In an offensive point of view there is only Giroud and Campbell and I would seriously see Campbell ahead of Giroud at the moment. Giroud is not that bad at all but in this form he is now it's better not to bring him on the pitch. So as fazit Arsenal lacking offensive power on the bench and this could turn out to be an important factor
After a defeat at Dynamo Zagreb, the presence of Francis Coquelin will be required plus Cech as a goalkeeper will try to prove a point for his previous manager. I imagine Arsenal will end up with clean sheet. Either a draw or a win for Arsenal.
Chelsea are going to win this quite easily 3-0. All of Arsenal's best players will be tired from having to play with 10 men in Zagreb, and having to fly back via Slovenia doesn't help. Also, Arsenal will have had their morale take a battering and don't have the strikers and forwards Chelsea have. MOTM Ramires. Who always seems to play extra 'hard' (dirty) vs Arsenal, wouldn't be surprised if he broke Coquelin's leg in this game.
@Overmars If I'd known Mike Dean was referreeing I would have predicted a biased performance from him. See the Whoscored predction:
Chelsea will be shown a high number of cards Likely
Instead due to Mike Dean's bias he won the game for Chelsea single-handedly and will get his huge bribe and reward from Abramovich and his Albanian and Russian mafia gangster friends.
@JMCD lets be real Coqlin and Arteta should be second choices. Coqlin should be off in firts half against Palace. Arsenal will have and is allready happening that they will lose games easily.
@JMCD- Completely agree. Oly those who are seasoned DMs who have played in that role for 3+ seasons MINIMUM can be called better and that's not to say all of those actually are.
@john666- They have too many world class players for them to finish outside the top 4, not to mention Liverpool have Brenda in charge who is a Man Utd "sleeper".
Not sure how Wenger is going to approach this tactically. If we go all out attach then we play to Chelsea's strength on the counter-attack. If we sit deep, then we hand Chelsea the initiative.
@Overmars First off all wenger has no tactically plan ever... he just prepares player for all sort of events in training. You would hardly see wenger giving special tips to player to do anything. Thats why he has developed a free flowing football system for player, where players can switch positions and anyone in midfield can score.
@Overmars There initiative has been lacking this season. I can't see Hazard or Costa coming up with too much against a solid Arsenal backline. I would prefer Gabriel and Kos in the back for speed instead of Mert and Kos
This match was completely spoiled by the worst hooligan in english football. His name is Diego Costa. How to prevent violent hooliganism outside the pitch when the best ref in PL allows it inside?
Up Chelsea Hi guys am new here
Some Albanian gangsters made a nice profit betting on this game.
Now I know why EPL clubs don't fly in Europe. It's because there are no refs to help them win matches. If refs do relegate, EPL refs will buckle down.
@TSN I LOVE YOUR COMMENT BRO
I don't need to add anything regarding Mike Dean or Diego Costa but it was depressing to see the Chelsea fans rapturous when they won given the manner they won in. I'll be interested to hear what the Chelsea fans on here think of this farce.

Lol penzard scores without a PENALTY world is changing
Everyone busy with costa, no one noticed whoscored rated Hazard MOTM instead of Mike Dean
And they say Mike Dean is the best ref in England
Now I understand English clubs don't fly in Europe. It's because there are no refs to help them win matches.
@TSN- Or in Arsenal's case, help them lose.
8 dribbles for Hazard? I didn't notice that much
Douchebag Costa
BPL's calciopoli forsure
If they dont investigate this
Incidents where Costa could have been sent off: (1) Hands in Koscielny's face.
Hazard 9.7 rating... LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
What a depressing "spectacle". A potentially exciting match up, it was clear the game would be decided by something like a sending but you hope otherwise. COSTA hypnotized the REFEREE
I don't think there is a more detestable team out there than Chelsea Football Club.
THE riding and tandem is looking for Mike Dean
Costa seemed to do similar things when he was in Spain according to the La Liga enthusiasts. However refs figured it out and time after time gave him a yellow card early on in the game so he would stop being a fanny and behave like a 5 year old told to bring his parents the next day at school. The refs in England should do something similar.
@NotBiased Unfortunately the refs in England are clearly incompetent. What they should do and what they do cannot be further apart.
Mike Dean might have just become Costa's best pal in entire England.
Oscar crunched into Koscielny, nothing.
the blues prevail once again over arsenal.. now lets turn the season around !!
It's pretty sad that Chelsea's turnaround is based on a performance of cheating. But then again, it fits them perfectly.
Cazorla's first yellow was soft too, another bad sending off. Costa could have been sent off three times. Just what we expect from the best refs in the world.
COSTA IS UGLY. Lookwise, skillwise, teamwise and mannerwise
lol! arzzz-anal is f*cked in dat azz.. :-)
@cforcrime YOUR FACE IS LOOK LIKE JOSE AND ROMAN..
Referees need to start asking why Costa gets so many people carded and sent off. Is it (a) because Costa is a saint, or (b) referees can't do their job. Answers on the back of a postcard please.
Hazard is rubbish, that shot was going 10 yards wide.
@What4 Maybe it was an intention to hit Chambers :D
Hazard is rubbish, that shot was going 10 yards wide.
Goal for Lampard!!!!!
Özil is done ...
A bag of money the Roman A. gave to the REFEREE..
diego costa 0000000000 ....
Man of the Match: Mike Dean
@bertaldino and Costa :)
@bjj I cannot decide who of those two is bigger arsehole. I'm curious about the press conference though...
A bag of money that Roman A. gave to the REFEREE
lol arzzz-anal get f*cked in dat azz.. :-)
Senior Citizen Costa...
REFREE is ludicrous. He gave Chambers a YC when there was just a minuscule touch.
Ramsey really has a magical touch...
@Castle Can't understand why he always plays 90 mins.
Foul machine subbed on for playacting machine. Some of the Chelsea players will have better careers in hollywood.
arzanal will lose. its a sub club
What did Costa do? (Cant watch the game)
like i said, chelsea will win against arzanal. arzanal is a sub club, they never win a price.. lol!
@cforcrime You can celebrate 3 points after giving them away in earlier games. Hazard is the new Ronaldo. Double LOL
@HellKitchen i will win my toto, i dont like both teams. TRIPLE LOL
Costa is a hopeless individual
@HellKitchen- That's the truth. Regardless of how good or bad he is at sport, he is a cretin in every other regard.
Exactly as I said earlier, Mike Dean would help Chelsea any way he could. Amazing Costa is still on the field.
Alexis only 2 dribbles ????? This is joke !! :))))))))
Costa is a douche bag. I would red card him for life. He makes noise in almost every game.
Costa is an utter disgrace and so is Mike Dean.
Great decision to send Gabirel off(sarcasm). He quite clearly hurt the feeble 12 year old that is Costa.
Moron of a ref. Should be a red for Costa instead.
I really hope Costa never leaves Chelsea. As long as he's there Chelsea will always live up to the tag of being an obnoxious football club.
There's no filthier player than Diego Costa. Shame for red card.
@Hardwell007 Agreed, cant' stand his actions
@Hardwell007 You've never heard of Luis Suarez?
@Gundam101 At least Suarez can actually do something with the ball + he has really improved since he went to Barca. Suarez is worldclass, Costa is overrated and a dirtbag.
Chelsea needs to win this one or the season is over.
That was a clear pk... and the bad reffering nightmare starts again.
What do you guys think about Özil? As far as I remember, he ended last season and began this season on fire. Now, according to the stats, his game is rather average.
@Kzotov You posted this after 7mins into the game, you expected like 4 goals already?
@Kendev I meant in general, for this early season! ;) (Btw, funny answer!)
@Kendev 45 mins into the game i still dont see him
@lemon8de Özil can play in shadows for long time but can still decide match with single pass. It's not new he's quiet for a one half.
It's a little shame these teams meet so early since both teams are in bad form. Pressures are huge so I expect quite cautious game. 0-1 with Sanchez to finally score.

Both teams sucks. Arzanal loses against a dinamo (lol) and chelsea didnt find their form yet. Chelsea will win this match though.

with that probable lineup winner should be chelsea
revenge match a win for chelsea

@SteveHyland even a bigger one ...lol sending off xD
@SteveHyland Aaaaaand there's a controversial (no) penalty-decision.
I get the feeling Mourinho and Wenger would both take a draw. Given Chelsea's recent form, they cannot afford to drop points to a rival. And a point at the bridge is a good result for Arsenal.
Coquelin will be key in this match. Matic in this form is very poorly
would love if this game turned up to be a pure football game without any naggles or bad refereeing!
i hope can see kenedy on LMF and see the top performance of CHELSEA FC chelsea will defeat arsenal 2-0 #ktbffh
Arsenal to win with this team!

@What4 You called it exactly. But it wasn't hard was it. I'm sure Mike Dean has a new home awaiting him in London or Russia.
Wenger sat several starters against Zagreb for the Gunner's recent CL match-- all in anticipation of this one. Arsenal went on to lose that last game. Was the community shield not a competitive match?
@6seconds no
Chelsea reminds me a bit of the Dortmund of the last season.
Sanchez looks to me simply out of form. Yes I know he has hit the post against Stoke but still he is lacking a lot of energy. Draw 1-1 could swing either way.
may be it's the time to change the season on a perfect way Chelsea 2:0
Arsenal or Draw
@MareSerb I don't think so but I could be wrong. I agree with draw but I can't see Chelsea winning. But like I said I could be wrong. :-)
After a defeat at Dynamo Zagreb, the presence of Francis Coquelin will be required plus Cech as a goalkeeper will try to prove a point for his previous manager. I imagine Arsenal will end up with clean sheet. Either a draw or a win for Arsenal.
arsenal will not loss dis match ..draw is likely the outcome..
Chelsea are going to win this quite easily 3-0. All of Arsenal's best players will be tired from having to play with 10 men in Zagreb, and having to fly back via Slovenia doesn't help. The Man United haters are gradually converting to Chelsea haters. Arsenal for the win, that will make the league more interesting.
1-2 or 2-2 i don't see AFC losing the London Derby.
Chelsea to win this. Arsenal without good defensive midfielder, Arteta and Couqelin not good enough. When you press Arsenal defense they are soo weak.
@otokam can tell you dont watch arsenal games. Coqelin not good enough? lol watch on saturday kid
Chelsea loose, Chelsea finish outside of top 4 if they loose this one
@john666- They have too many world class players for them to finish outside the top 4, not to mention Liverpool have Brenda in charge who is a Man Utd "sleeper".
@SteveHyland YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD POINT, thanks for that point friend
@SteveHyland How about...NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Not sure how Wenger is going to approach this tactically. If we go all out attach then we play to Chelsea's strength on the counter-attack. If we sit deep, then we hand Chelsea the initiative.

Draw
no win for the blues here, 0-0 or 0-1
If we get the opener, we'll have a great chance to win all three points. Theo scores!
Mou may get fired here. How much money for compesations he has earned in his career? Sweet...
Я уже даже боюсь смотреть этот матч...
